I was unable to walk without assistance and the OR staff went above and beyond to help me. They were so sensitive and genuinely concerned, and very patient with me. With several severely herniated disks, I was a mess, and they made me feel supported the whole time. The staff at the front desk in the main office were not nearly as compassionate. They were downright rude, actually... but the rest of the staff easily outweighed their negativity. My favorite part of my visit was overhearing Dr. Finkelstein thanking his team for all their hard work, and telling them what a great job they did. You don't often hear that kind of appreciation!

I went to Dr. Dewal for a 2nd opinion, and was extremely disappointed. He was condescending and…read morerude. When looking at my MRI I got up to look more closely at it, and he told me to sit down. When I expressed a concern that often when people get cervical fusion (which is what he was pushing on me), they oftentimes end up needing another one in a few years due to the excessive stress placed on the surrounding discs. He told me that this was not the case and if they do need surgery that's it's because of natural degeneration. I know numerous people that this has happened to and it doesn't seem to happen to those who haven't had this surgery, so I have no trust in what he was saying. He barely looked up from my MRI report when speaking to me, and simply walked out when he finished telling me what he insisted I needed. No goodbye, nothing. I'm happy to report that I no longer have nerve pain due to an alternative approach I took, and I'm so happy that I didn't resort to surgery.
