Had my first cleaning at Dr. Polk's office today. Everyone was friendly from receptionist to dental hygienist. The hygienist did say she was just filling in but she was extremely gentle. Dr. Erica Polk and her staff are amazing. I have been a patient since 2013. My husband and son are also patients. We have always been treated well. Dr. Polk is honest, fair and does great work. They will not up-sell you, like a lot of dentists do. They will tell you in all honesty what's going on, what needs to be done and why and how much it will cost. They will tell you which services you don't need right away or at all. On top of that, Dr. Polk and her staff will treat you like family. I can't say enough good things about them. read more

I had been advised by another dentist that I needed a root canal. My dental insurance changed immediately afterward, so I had to find a new dentist. Dr. Polk took me in with short notice, did x-rays and examined the tooth, and told me I needed a crown, but not a root canal. Saved me so much anxiety and discomfort, not to mention a lot of money. Her entire staff including the receptionist and the dental assistant were caring, kind, and helpful, and the office is immaculate. I had previous good experience with Dr. Polk but the last 2 appointments did not meet my standards. The first she did not take X-rays but she billed my insurance company. I found it funny that they skipped this part of the routine exam. My last appointment was scheduled for yesterday at 11 AM. I received a call at 9 asking could I come early because they had some cancellations. I told them I would try as I was still laying down. I arrived at my appointment time and the office was closed for the day. I guess as they closed at 12 and had previous cancellations she started her weekend!! I took off work for this appointment and to leave without calling is totally unprofessional and she definitely has lost a client. read more

She's been my dentist for about 3 years and I've never felt completely confident in her skills or those of her assistants. I currently have a broken temporary crown in my mouth that I have been trying to reach her office about for 4 days. No response from anyone. I don't even know if they have my permanent crown. I'm definitely in the process of looking for another dentist where I intend to have a full examination to see if I have more or less damage then I've been told over the years. Erica Polk left not one, not two, but three broken dental files in my tooth during a root can and never told me. I found out a year later after I'd moved out of state and visited my new dentist. I was reluctant to write this review, but I owe it to the public to caution them on using the service of any business that lack quality of service and especially lack of professionalism. I will not write the whole story of my experience with Dr. Erica Polk and in my opinion, her rude male Assistant, if he is still there. Dr. Polk was very flexible when it came to working with a payment plan. I do give her credit for that. I went to her to have a root canal done on two teeth, which I thought she did. After a while, I started having problems with a tooth she performed the root canal on and actually crowned. I should have known something was wrong because as she was performing the root canal, she appeared to have trouble finding the root in one of the teeth. I went to her office and she indicated that the tooth was infected and she would take care of it. She actually started the process to prepare for removing the cap to fix the problem. She left the room and sent her assistant in. In a rude and non caring manner, he told me Dr. Polk could fix the problem with the root canal, but he would have to bill my insurance company again to replace the cap. When I refused to agree to this, Dr. Polk would not continue. I asked if I could speak with her and her male assistant said she was busy. I demanded to speak with her. I went to her office and told her how unprofessional this situation was. I was even more stunned when she left the decision to not build my insurance company for the new crown up to her office assistant. When I realized she would not correct the problem, and after she wrote me a prescription to treat the infected toot, I left. I went to another dentist to have the work done who confirmed that the root was still in the tooth that was infected. I tried calling her several times, but she would never take my call. I spent almost two thousand dollars to have the problem corrected. I was more disappointed with her lack of caring and professionalism, especially her rude office assistant(whatever his title was or is). I cannot tell anyone who to use as a dentist, but I would stress that you check out reviews and take them seriously before using any service. read more
