We had a leaking skylight on our place and I called him to fix it…read more He said it would be a big job and would have to take all the metal roof off around the skylight and redo underneath it to weather proof it and then put the roofing back on for $800. So we said OK. Then he said he was done in a very short time on a Saturday afternoon, and it was all fixed. So we paid him the amount. When the rains came again in the Fall, the skylight leaked again like it use to, nothing had changed. Upon inspection of the skylight we found that all he had done was undo a few of the screws on the metal roofing and filled the area with a couple tubes of silicon. We had during that summer installed a new kitchen only to have some of it wrecked by the water pouring into through around the skylight that was supposed to have been fixed. Cabinets were getting wet and new tile back splash was falling off the sopping wet wall. The new Formica counter tops were now swelling from all the water coming in. When I called him to complain that nothing he did fixed the problem he had his wife tell me it was a temporary fix and would fix it properly for more money. I said "so $800 was for a couple tubes of silicon?" His wife promised he would get back to use to correct the problem. After a few more phone calls they would never answer and simply ignored our messages left on their answering service. Never before did he say it was only a temporary fix, he had said it was all fixed at the time when we paid him. No mention of additional repairs would be require. Only when I confronted his wife did the excuses keep coming and that with more money it would get properly corrected. It is too bad the former owner of the business was a good person. This is why we phoned Arrowsmith Roofing. This new guy who bought the business came from Alberta and does not appear to have any ethics just takes peoples money. Did you get run out of Alberta? Thanks Ryan for taking money from an older lady on a tiny fixed pension who had recently lost her husband to cancer. WARNING TO EVERYONE OUT THERE THIS BUSINESS IS NOT TO BE TRUSTED!!!!!
