Worst car repair experience ever…read more Had to spend an extra $600 at VW dealership to correct Cheshire's mistakes. They used the wrong springs for my Jetta. The car was literally 5 inches taller in the front. My husband jokingly called my car the 'mini SUV' when he saw it, because it looked so awful. There was a large gap between tire and wheel well. My car felt completely different, clunky and stiff. They charged me $1,091 to 'fix' my car. I brought my car back, and spoke with the mechanic. I showed him the issues and told him he did something wrong, and I was guessing he used the wrong parts. He said the parts were 'new' and it would 'settle. Wait, what?! I brought my car to the Volkswagen dealership, and asked them to look at it, since Cheshire had messed it up so badly. Dealership told me that Cheshire used the wrong springs. How could they not have noticed how they made my car look, and how it handled? Also, when I first left my car for repairs, they didn't fix anything. I needed my car back, and I asked if it was safe to drive. Was told it was fine. It was not. I had to have my car towed because a large piece of spring snapped off. Another serious issue: They used the wrong oil in my Turbo engine. Their error could have ruined my engine. Ended up bringing car to dealership, to fix mistakes. Because of Cheshire's errors, I spent an additional $600 in labor. In total, I spent $1,691 on this repair. I told Dale I would be writing a review and sharing photos of their work. He said that was "threatening". He then told me there would be "retaliation".

They were able to pin point the problems and were happy to talk on the phone and in person when I called to inquire. I am leaving the area but I would certainly return and recommend this as a first choice shop.

BUYER BEWARE! This place is a scam and will bleed you dry…read more Places like this are why auto repair shops should be regulated closely. I had many things wrong with my car back in June and including a bad transmission solenoid. $1,700 later it seemed ok although the bill hurt. My car still had a couple things wrong so I brought it back a couple of times in the following weeks. Less than 2 months after the initial repair my Saab went back into limp mode.. same tranny issue. So I brought it back in to have it fixed. Glen (the owner) was supposed to find the bad solenoid and replace it. When it was finally done I called to check up on it and he said good news, he couldn't find the bad one so he spent hours "cleaning" all the solenoids. I am not sure how this was good news because it still cost me the $330 he quoted me and I did not authorize him to do that. I did not feel very confident or safe leaving with a bad solenoid but he assured me that it was fixed and said he guaranteed his work. The very next day my car went back into limp mode! SAME ISSUE. For the third time. I drove it right back there and he told me a few days later that I needed a new tranny and he already had one and would only charge me for the part. 3 weeks went by without him starting on my car! Finally 41 days later I got my car back (with a check engine light on for something we had just fixed previously) Just under $4,000 into a car that is not worth a third of that.. but after paying the first bill I was stuck. A real mechanic will be honest and tell you when it is not worth fixing. A selfish bad mechanic will bleed you dry and tell you "well it is just money, you can always get more" To top it all off the tranny is bad and I still need a new car. The place is as shady as it looks. Steer clear.
