What was not disclosed was that I also needed to have a bank account on file for autopay in order to avoid extra fees. A month later, I received an email saying I still had a balance because of this hidden requirement. This was never communicated upfront, and I only found out after being charged unnecessarily. I have never had an agent do this before. Now I have to spend my own time fixing something that should not have happened in the first place. While the agent said she can remove the fee, the lack of transparency and the hassle it has caused me is unacceptable. I had hoped to be a long-term customer, as I was with my American Family agent back in Minnesota, but after this experience I will be switching agents when my policy is up. Very disappointing and frustrating. I cannot recommend this agency.

Summary: After creating my mom's policy, Monica failed to bill my mother for her down payment (her words). She did however set up auto-pay, in which Farmers Insurance collected 2 monthly payments over the course of two months (normal). Today, after 2 months, Monica called my mother and demanded she immediately makes catch-up payments for the down payment, 2 months, AND pay late fees because she was apparently unable to bill her AT ALL due to issues with her mom's banking info/bank. My poor mom went to the office to try and understand what was going on. I guess they figured out some payments were made, but my mom still didn't understand why Monica quoted her late fees, so she called me to sort the issue... So my mom and I called Monica together. During the call, Monica began telling me the same story (that a # of payments hadn't been made to the office due to a billing issue so payments were due for 3 months)... that is, until I begin calling out her lies while referencing the Proof of Insurance and Bank Statements that I had in front of me. I also asked why she, a licensed agent of Farmer's Insurance, didn't have access to my mom's payment history. Because if she did, she could clearly see payments were made, on time, for the past two months. I swear on my everything I love, she THEN confessed she made a mistake but continued that she "understands [my] mom is confused." Yes, because you messed up, failed to be upfront about your mistakeS, blamed it on my mom/her bank, tried to make a quick buck via late fees (and even possibly commission), then continued to gaslight and weasel out of being held accountable while on the phone with me. VERY unprofessional to try and take advantage of an elderly woman. Shame on you. One star for location, rates, and speaking Spanish.
