Over the years I came to appreciate that reliability, and Dr. Barr was always a great professional. I should have written a five-star review a long time ago, not that the office would have needed it. The practice was sold recently to someone called Katherine Burton, who I've never seen. I have seen one of the other Dentists there, who is young and eager and seems knowledgeable. I do find the bedside manner not quite filling Dr. Barr's shoes, although I suppose that's something that comes with time. Other things have changed, too: the front desk staff, who I always liked, and I've had to trundle out to the other office in North Prov a few times because they couldn't reschedule me on South Main. None of which is a deal-killer, and I guess if I walked in the door today I wouldn't think much of it, but, I don't know, it's just the way my trust in the practice has been lowered just a bit that feels uncomfortable, somehow.

After several treatments over the last three months, my husband and I are taking our business elsewhere. This dentist has no bedside manner. Doctor seems rushed - in both my visits, I ended up asking the assistant/hygienist my questions, because the doctor was already out of the room and barely acknowledged me. (But I did get to hear her conversation with her assistant all about her mother and her nursing home while I was convulsing from the pain.) Unless you have full availability during 9-4 hours, it will be hard to get an appointment here and it's really not worth that wait.
