I have had two negative experiences at this store in the last three months. In the first instance I was speaking with a salesperson and asked to see some of their pedals. While going over to where they keep them I asked the gentleman about some cords. He gave me a recommendation and I turned to ask my daughter what her thoughts were on a color. The salesperson got an OBVIOUSLY annoyed look on their face, turned around, and walked off and did not help me with the pedals. This was all in the span of 30 seconds. We were not wasting his or our time.
That day I made two purchases(this is relevant later). I first purchased a +200.00 guitar. On checkout I was told that they were doing a promotion where for every $50.00 spent you received a $5.00 gift card but that the gift card had to be used after the first of the year. On this purchase I received a $20.00 card. I took the guitar out to my car and then thought that now would be the time to by an amp for the guitar while I could get some "money back " in the form of these gift cards. I went back in 1 minute later after putting the guitar in the car and purchased a used practice amp for +$50.00 and received another gift card for $5.00. My plan was that I could come back after the 1st of the year and get a guitar strap. I even mentioned it to the guy who was checking me out the second time.

I went in on a Saturday to purchase a guitar strap. I found what I needed and went to checkout. After the person rang me up I handed them the $20.00 and $5.00 gift cards. The person told me that only one card could be used at a time. There is nothing on the gift cards that indicates only being able to use one at a time. I told the person that I did not want to make the purchase. The plan was to buy a $25.00 guitar strap and only be out the tax needed for the transaction. I then walked out to my car. Before leaving I thought that I should try to get this resolved instead of being frustrated by it, so I went back in, waited in line, and then spoke to another salesperson. This time it was the same salesperson who had walked off on me on my previous visit. I asked them what the policy was on the gift cards and if there was a manager or owner that I could speak with. With a big grin on his face I was told there was no one there that could do anything. Honestly, he(the salesperson), could be a nice person but the perception I have of this salesperson is negative from my two interactions with them. I had to ask if there was a number or a person I could contact before I was provided with the managers card.
I am frustrated that they will not honor the rewards program that they set up. I am disappointed that they do not empower their employees to be problem solvers for their customers.
I could of bought a better used amp for cheaper but did not do so because of the gift cards the store was offering.
I am going to email the manager this and the link to the yelp post and will update at a later date with any resolution. read more
