Online, "Walking Figure poses motionless in front of the Gateway Foundation building, stuck forever in walking stance but never gaining any ground. The sprightly form reminds the viewer of a child's drawing of a human, with the arms and legs sticking out awkwardly from a square-like torso. The childish face of the figure grins shyly but contentedly with closed eyes as it towers above the heads of passersby, striding purposefully toward some unknown end. This place was amazing plan on being here for at least four hours. There are so many areas to climb and fit your body through. There were slides, caves and so many areas that if you hadn't been paying attention, you would have missed! We brought the kids here to have a fun time but honestly us adults really enjoyed this as well! There is a place to grab a snack here as well as gift shop. There are multiple floors and rooms and just when you think you've seen all of it another floor or room will pop up. We thought we had seen everything and then realized we missed two whole floors! This is absolutely worth going to!!

Kids yelling, crying, people talking, metal banging. Got here close to open. Parked at a lot nearby (thought it was the one for City museum. It was not and cost me $30 so BEWARE). Walked to the museum (about half a block) and the line was through the parking lot. I had not purchased tickets online because they charged a $8 convenience fee. Paid $68 ($62+$6 tax) ($23 per ticket for admission and $8 per person rooftop add on) for one adult and one kid ticket (there is no difference in price) with the roof top add on. They give you a wristband to wear which is nice that you can leave and come back. We left to go grab lunch nearby and were able to exit and re-enter easily. Got inside and had to use the restroom. Restrooms are old, run down, some stalls were out of service, paper towels were out, toilet paper out. I saw the restroom being serviced several times but it always seemed to be out of something. My kid had fun but there were areas they were not allowed to access due to not having a flashlight. Kidlet wanted me to buy one but we had no room to pack it. They could benefit from having a flashlight rental program for people traveling. Lots of kids wearing knee pads but my child did not particularly care they did not have them, they just wanted a light. Line to get on elevator to go to roof was long and hot. Roof was hot and there is not a lot of shade. It was cool views and photo ops if you are into that. I wanted to ride the ferris wheel but it was too hot to be out in the sun. Took the stairs back down. I was surprised I kept seeing it was in a 10 story building but there are only 3-4 floors you can access plus the roof. Due to the way it is laid out there are bottle necks that gather and make it hard to maneuver in some places. The restroom entrance is near the gift shop entrance (which is also where you exit) and people were just standing there so it was difficult to get through. Maneuvering the stairs was difficult as well as people did not keep one side open for going up and one for going down, taking up the whole stairway so you had to wait. Overall this was a way to kill some time before going to the airport. Kidlet had fun and they are the target demographic but I would not go back.

My first time visiting the Gateway Arch, and I'm so glad I finally got to see it up close!…read more I've seen this thing from about 10,000 feet, but seeing it from the ground is a completely different experience. The architecture is seriously impressive, and I loved getting close enough to actually see the welding beads in the stainless steel. It made me stop and think about how in the world they actually put this massive thing together. There's something really cool about seeing the little details on something that looks so impossibly perfect from a distance. Parking on a Saturday afternoon was not exactly easy, so thankfully a friend dropped us off and we were able to walk around, get a closer look, and take some photos without turning the visit into a parking expedition. We didn't go up to the observation area this time. I'm not entirely convinced I'm ready to be packed into a tiny tram going up inside the Arch. But I think I'd like to give it a try someday. I also had no idea there was an underground museum! Apparently I need to do a little more research before my next visit because I definitely want to check that out too. Overall, this is one of those places that really lives up to its iconic status. It was fun finally getting to see it from ground level instead of through an airplane window. If you're visiting St. Louis for the first time, definitely make a stop here. Even if you just walk around the Arch, it's worth seeing up close.

The staff here were very friendly and answered all kinds of questions. Our tour guide for the arch was funny and kept us entertained. You can either explore the history before or after going up into the arch, but it is worth checking out. If you're claustrophobic, this is not the place for you. You will need to ride up in a very small cart on the way to the top. It's very secure. I am 250 pounds and 5Ft 7in and I fit with 3 kids and one another adult, but there is not a lot of space. There is air flowing which does help. You can also see, as the doors are glass. You will have about 10 minutes up at the top to take a bunch of pictures which honestly is more than enough time. It takes about four minutes to go up in about three minutes to come down. The gift shop had plenty of stuff, so make sure to stop there as well. If you're going to St. Louis Missouri, this is definitely a stop for you

It's actually so inspiring to see so many different artists working together, incorporating their own unique styles to create one single piece of artwork. If I took a few minutes to really take in and admire each grafitti, finishing the wall would take HOURS! I was skeptical that this mural was worth the trip to an abandoned area, but I'm truly so glad that I came to see this beauty. If you're in Saint Louis, you have to come take a look!

In the early years of the city a parcel of land was put aside. Services were conducted in structures that would be temporary. From 1831 to 1834 the Greek style permanent limestone building was constructed. During the revival of the waterfront in the 1930s, this structure survived. It was a church and could not be torn down. It sits in the shadow of the arch today. It became a landmark in 1971. The St Vincent De Paul a French charity organization founded in France in 1833 started its journey to aid individuals that are struggling first here in this church. The charity organization began its roots here in St Louis first in this church and it continues today in 1845.
