I received very…read moregood wound care for my amputated leg by conscientious, professional nurses (mostly Nicole, Joshua, Carrie & Serge ...), the CNAs (mostly Kelly, Adriana, Trinity), the shower aids, my RCM Alicia and the therapists. Transportation to and from doctor appointments were reliably handled by the staff. Overall, good people dedicated to giving quality care to both acute and long-term residents as far as I could tell. I'm confident I was in much better health (especially my amputation) when I departed than I was upon arrival. The only major complaints I have are these two: (1) more nurses and CNAs are urgently needed for every shift because wait times for assisting residents in distress are frequently way too damn long; (2) the quality of meals is routinely subpar at best (not as good as hospital food!) and menu variety is monotonous. Frequent visits by a resident's family can partially help alleviate these problems. Well, that said, I very much recommend Lacamas Creek Post Acute facility even for my own family and friends; from what I hear you could do a lot worse in the Clark County/Vancouver metro.

I would not switch to another physician if I weren't moving out of the area. I just saw Dr. Speaker recently and she didn't mention the new concierge decision. She is changing her practice to this new concierge model (basically only for the rich) which leaves us now without a PCP as of September. She could have told me in person when myself and my kids were there. To give me a heads up so I could start looking for a new provider (considering how difficult it is to get in with anyone these days and when you do get an appointment it is at least 6-9 months out). Now I will experience a delay in my healthcare and most likely be without my meds until I can get established somewhere else. I never imagined being a middle class, hard working person with decent insurance wouldn't be enough to keep basic healthcare at Creekside. I am shocked at this decision. I didn't think Dr. Speaker was the kind of person who would abandon her patients simply because they can't afford it. Shameful! With everything happening in our country and the direction healthcare is going, we did not need this too. I am shocked as I have never had an unpleasant experience with the office staff nor Dr. Speaker. They are always warm, gracious and helpful. Dr. Speaker is a teacher at heart, as well as someone who works above and beyond for the patient. I'm fortunate in that a I don't need to go often but when I use the portal monthly to get prescription refills she responds right away with answers to any questions about insurance and options, if necessary. When I have my yearly physical, Dr. Speaker spends so much time with me that I begin to feel uncomfortable that we're holding up other patients waiting to see her - she is that thorough and present. And often I will walk out with referrals to specialists or names of someone/something in the community that may help. In summary, I can't say enough about Dr. Speaker. I don't know for sure how long I have been seeing her - probably around 20 years. In my 78 years I have been seen by many doctors, Dr. Speaker is the best at listening, teaching, responding and overall empathy to my health. After my wife ended up in the ER from excessive bleeding Dr Ahearn told us with all confidence that she needed a COMPLETE hysterectomy & wanted her to make an appointment for the procedure as soon as possible. I went to an appointment with my wife to discuss treatment options & was shocked when the doctor could not answer my questions. When we left I told my wife she should look for a different doctor. A few days later she saw another doctor who was horrified at the levels of hormones Dr Ahearn had my wife on. She changed my wife's birth control and bam...within 48 hours my wife's health was completely restored. Thank god we did not allow Dr Ahearn to perform a hysterectomy that my wife clearly did not need. After YEARS of appointments with Dr Ahearn which only served to make my wife's situation worse it only took ONE visit with a different doctor to get her health..and life... back.

I started seeing her in April of this year for issues that I had regarding my health. After answering a series of very thorough questions she was able to read me like a book because after my lab results came back she was right on practically everything. I know several doctors in the Vancouver area who know of and give high praise to Dr. Workman. She runs a great practice and in my experience takes the time necessary to ensure that her patients are cared for and fully understand the issues surrounding their health. Her office is extremely busy but I guess when you are good at what you do it is to be expected. I was thankful that she was accepting new patients and I have recommended her to friends who moved here from other states who do not have a primary care physician. As more private practice doctors retire or get pushed into the managed care debacle I feel fortunate to have a good doctor who puts the well being of their patients as their top priority. She is a gem in her field of medicine and you couldn't ask for a better physician.
