While leaving the photo worthy court house, we had a flat tire. Not to worry, Dieker Oil was across the street. They immediately worked up us into the schedule. We continued to do our excursion downtown while they repaired the tire. We were called and texted when our vehicle was ready. The owner went over the patch he had done to get us thru the weekend until we get back home. We had been traveling on some gravel roads recently, so the flat tire was not a surprise. Was quoted for renters insurance and told it would…read morebe $10.50 per month, with $10.50 being drafted from my account that day to initiate the policy. Approximately a week later, I received a draft notice in the mail stating that the policy was actually $18.75 and that $19.84 had been taken from my account to begin the policy; both of those figures are almost double what I was quoted. Just taking the $19.94 initially was fraudulent and was stealing, as my consent was only given for the amount of $10.50 to be taken (as i was quoted). I called this agent's office repeatedly and left messages repeatedly, as no one would ever answer the phone. Not one call was ever returned. Finally, one day a girl actually answered the phone and i explained the situation to her and was promised an immediate call back to be given an answer as to what had happened. She never called back. I made more phone calls over several weeks, NONE of which were returned. I called the toll free State Farm number and explained the situation and was told they would send a message directly to the agent. Even then, I was never contacted. This policy was written May 5th. I called and called and was given the run around until June 19th! The agent back dated the cancelation one month (from that date) and no refund was given, not even for the amount of money fraudently charged to my card without my consent and the agent taunted me to go ahead and contact the KS insurance commission. After more than a month and a half of unreturned phone calls and hours of my life spent getting nothing but the run around from this agent and his office, I called SF underwriting directly and after explaining the full, complete and truthful story (that they had not received from the agent), they back dated the cancelation date back to the day the policy was written and refunded all of my money, which the agent had told me he would not do. These were all dishonest and despicable business practices by Ateve Chritchon and his agency. Certainly not what was would expect from State Farm. If you are seeking any sort of insurance, it would be wise to steer clear of this agent and his agency. Seek out another SF agent or go with another company altogether. I can only imagine what would have happened if I had kept this policy and ever actually needed to make a claim! I was lied to, stolen from, defrauded, given a bait and switch policy followed by weeks and weeks of runaround. Save yourself all of the above and avoid this agency!

They graciously reviewed the car, fixed the problem (a sensor failure), tested it and sent us on out way with a minimal cost. The staff was excellent in every way, and this is especially important when you are a stranded visitor traveling through. 5 stars in every way!
