I come to Modesto, visit 4 small businesses, have meetings with clients, lawyers and partners. I had to park on 14th st. Which is away from most of downtown. Come to my truck to find a parking ticket. The closest parking garage is half way across down town or across the street at the park where there are drug addicts and needles all over. After spending a day and generating a lot of $ for the small businesses down town I come out to a parking ticket. If they are going to have 2 hour parking and enforce it they should have zones that are longer because access to a large parking garage is 5+blocks away. Do they expect someone with a disability to travel that far? There isn't even disabled person parking on that street, which I'm sure would break HIPPA rules and laws. It's absolutely ridiculous that I would have to move my car every 2 hours while conducting business. So instead, I'll meet with my clients in Ripon, Turlock etc.... Somewhere parking is free or has extended hours. Maybe focus on getting people INTO Modesto and not micro managing their time spent there. oh I also saw a guys pants drop to his knees and die of an OD while I was there. But me parking for 2 hours is the issues... okay.

Since I was a tutor and volunteer at saint Stan teaching catechism on Saturday's I applied. My interview was going great until I mentioned I was Catholic, the ladies that interviewed me gave me a weird look and then said that my strong religious beliefs didn't aline with the position. They then had the audacity to ask me if I would volunteer with no pay. So basically my religion was an issue for me to get paid an hourly wage but it was okay if my services were free. So disappointing because until then I always felt positive about the Salvation Army. I didn't want to expose them back then, but I think this needs to be brought to EVERYONES attention because this is discrimination and violates my first amendment rights

This is a pretty new park even though it's been open a few years but I would say it's a better park…read morethan any other Lathrop park. It's near an elementary school but not as close with a whole grass field between. The pathway that's between the school and park is wide and shady, filled with places to sit, workout and eat. There is a restroom at the park and on the Slate Street side closer to the school. The water splash pads runs continuously during the day in the summer because the water is recycled and filtered. They have city workers that check up the area regularly. I see them in the mornings when I go for a walk sometimes. They added a new pergola type area next to the tennis courts. More tables to enjoy and a bbq pit I believe The parking is pretty much street parking but it seems that a lot of the visitors are from the area so they most likely walk to it. Ice cream trucks, well vans come by and sometimes the school would invite Kona Ice usually on Wednesdays sometimes. Kona would usually be on the Slate Street side FYI
