Adrienne is the best game master. We did Houdini and it was so fun. Definitely our best escape room ever.

The most immersive escape room I have ever done. Carnegie's Millions was so much fun and very creative and interactive. Our game master Kit made the environment so much fun and when asked helped with a clue that was still fun to solve! She was amazing. We can't wait to come back and play the rest of the rooms.

So much fun escaping!!

If you haven't already visited, you're missing out! My family and I had a blast navigating the Subway Escape and can't wait to try another room. Kitt was assigned to our group and did a great job making sure we understood the assignment and enjoyed ourselves. We'll definitely return and we recommend this for a group that wants to be e challenged AND make hilarious memories!

We visited the Homestead location over the weekend; there were 8 of us total and all first timers. I booked Carnegie's Millions, which has a difficulty level of hard. I had booked this room because you can have up to 10 people, and I wasn't sure how many were coming initially. In hindsight, it was obvious I should have booked a room that could hold 8 people that had a lower difficulty level, but too late by that point. In all honesty, we did pretty well - especially for being first timers. Without giving anything away, we got to the very last puzzle, just had a few things in the wrong but were "so close!". Pros: Overall, a fun time! I think everyone agreed that it was fun and would go again. The staff were friendly and pretty helpful. The waiting area (beforehand) had some small puzzles and games to keep you occupied. Cons: I understand that this is a business and is about making money, but I wish they had options that you could book a room privately. For example, maybe on off times like week nights, they could have a limit of 4 people, that way you don't have to worry about being stuck with people you don't know. If my husband and I wanted to go again, or maybe with just one other couple, there is the (high) probability that you would end up being with other people.

Palate Partners has become one of my favorite places in Pittsburgh. Located in the Strip District…read moreright across the street from Penn Mac, Palate Partners has a wide range of wine and wine merchandise for sale. Note, due to the archaic PA liquor control laws, you can't buy wine and take it with you the day you buy it. Instead, you have to wait two days to pick it up. However, they have wines that are not available at the PCLB stores and the wine merchandise makes for great and reasonably priced gifts. Most importantly, Palate Partners holds wine tastings every 1st and 3rd Friday of the month. For $12, tasters get to sample three whites and three reds selected by the store owner. These wine tastings are a great way to try new wines as well as a way to decompress and socialize on a Friday after work.

The store itself is filled with wine related items available for purchase. I highly recommend the holiday themed wine glass koosies they make for a great conversation starter at a party. The only downfall and it is not their fault but PA laws will not allow them to sell you wine to leave with that day. You have to come back in a few days. Palate Partners also host wine tasting events a couple of times a month and I highly recommend them. The host wine tasting classes the first and third Fridays of every month. They usually pick wines that people would not normally choose themselves when at the W&S store. They sample three reds and three whites. It is relatively inexpensive but a great introduction to wine tasting. If you are looking for a gift for a friend/family member who enjoys wine this is a great stop.
