Escapology Escape Rooms Charlotte has some strong points. The room themes are well-designed, immersive, and visually interesting. Unfortunately, the overall experience fell short compared to many other escape rooms we have played. My group has completed every escape room in Charlotte, along with numerous rooms in other states and several overseas, so we have a broad basis for comparison. One of the biggest issues was the size of the rooms. They felt cramped and crowded, and while the advertised capacity may be higher, the rooms seem best suited for two to four players at most. The puzzles were also frustrating at times. Many of the clues felt overly convoluted, and the room lacked a clear sense of progression. Rather than flowing naturally from one puzzle to the next, the challenges often felt disconnected and lacked cohesion. The game management also impacted our experience. We were told that the game masters were monitoring multiple rooms simultaneously, which appeared to contribute to delays. At one point, we successfully completed a piano-based puzzle multiple times, but nothing happened. After repeating it several times, a game master finally noticed and advanced the puzzle. Situations like this can be particularly frustrating when time is limited. Overall, Escapology Charlotte offers attractive themes and creative room designs, but the small room sizes, inconsistent puzzle flow, and game-master oversight issues detracted from the experience. With some refinements, it could be a much stronger escape room destination. read more

Fun, entertaining, and highly recommended! They have a bunch of interesting looking options and we decided to go with the 7 Deadly Sins room. SUCH an amazing and novel experience. My boyfriend found us this Batman themed escape room and it exceeded all of my expectations. Milk and Ben were very helpful and generous with us since there wasn't another appointment for that room (we went on a Monday), so they gave us a lot of extra time. My family may be full of hardened escape room veterans, but the room that we completed had our heads spinning. That's extremely high praise! We barely finished our room (7 Deadly Sins), and we really had to work for it. With that being said, they also have some more tame rooms with a more mild difficulty ranking for a more family-friendly experience. Escapology may be up your alley if you love well thought-out and clever puzzles with excellent (and clean/high tech) room design, and AMAZING hosts/game masters (shoutout to Sharif, who was extremely funny, friendly, and informative from the jump - and who always kept us in high spirits). Couldn't recommend this place more! I've done dozens of escape rooms all around the country and 7 Deadly Sins at this Escapology is easily the new room to beat. I booked a room here for my daughter's birthday. There were some complications with my booking, but the manager, Richard, was very understanding, apologetic and went above and beyond to make it right. There are several rooms to choose from and I love that they have the "kids mode" option in some of them, so younger ones can play on their own. The party was a hit and because of such great customer service we give it a BIG thumbs up, and will for sure visit again. read more

This place was SO much fun! Service was great, online registration was seamless, and their Escape room options are all very interesting! We did the Scooby Doo escape room and had them give us hints when it looked like we were struggling--which we actually did need! There was so much detail and knick knacks in the room, and we all had a blast! I would definitely come here again if I was in the area. read more

Sharif was an incredible game master! Not only was he welcoming and fun but he gave us great clues throughout and made us feel like family! we did the Scooby room and it was a blast! There was a great mix of harder more challenging puzzles and then ones that were fun quick and easy! Although the room which we selected was super challenging our family had a really fun time. We selected the Mansion Murder which later we were told is the 2nd hardest in skill level. Unfortunately, the skill level is not listed on their website; that would have been helpful in making our selection as to which challenge to try. IMO the Mansion Murder was challenging because it didn't have a flow and the clues were not that great. We basically asked for clues every few minutes because we were confused throughout the game. The game began to frustrate all of us and so we just had someone sit by the button and ask for clues. Our hosts Emma and Ferrari were wonderful. They were very patient with our group and although we had many challenges they reassured the group that we did well. (Very kind of them). They also provided small bottles of water at the end of the game which was refreshing because the rooms can become a bit stuffy if you have a full party, which we did. Although the Mansion Murder was not our favorite, we'd most certainly come back and try another room. Ps. Oh and we never received our photo that we were told would be emailed to the email used at the time of booking/paying. read more

My boyfriend and I are OBSESSED with doing escape rooms so when we found a new spot just opened we had to go! We've been twice already and by far the mansion murder is my favorite room, also big shoutout to Jaiden she was our game host and she was super informative very polite.
