People were resting and picnic on the grass. Unfortunately the gardens are closed. The park is a block up the hill. Nice area, didn't do any hiking since it was super hot. A group was enjoying a picnic, watch out for rattle snakes. No picnic tables, you need to bring a blanket. No restrooms either, too bad. Nice green space, beautiful palm trees, fun to check out. The facility could be better maintained. If you live in the area, it's a good spot to enjoy some nature. It closes at 4 pm, so get there early! A more off the beaten path activity in Hollywood! Not what you'd expect from someone who deals with numerous people on a daily basis. However, I let neither that nor the somewhat steep cost of the studio deter me from renting the place for my birthday party. The studio was in slight disarray when I showed up on the day I'd booked it for. Folding chairs and random painting were strewn about, and the floor needed to be swept. So I had to handle that before even setting up my own decorations and equipment. Daniel had mentioned several times previously that he wanted the studio returned in the same condition as it was before my event. So throughout the night, my friends and I made sure to clean up any spills or messes. After the party ended, we were literally on our hands and knees making sure the place was spotless. The following day, despite the great care we took, Daniel wrote a harsh email to me and demanded a cleaning fee. He initially said having the floors steamed would cost $100.00. I replied explaining how thoroughly we had cleaned the studio. Then in a following email, he said the fee would be $75.00. Rather than go around in circles, I agreed to pay the lesser fee, as it was clear that he simply wanted more money. If you're looking for a studio rental to host an event, I would highly recommend seeking it elsewhere.

I get that on dj nights people are dancing and drinking so it will be somewhat warm. But, when its so hot that moisture is accumulating on the ceiling and dripping onto the djs laptop you get where this can be annoying. They have one bathroom only which on busy nights means super long waits even for the mens bathroom. That just makes me want to drink less fluid. This venue is located in the middle of an industrial park in the middle of nowhere in downtownla. On busy nights street parking is hard to find. The venue should find a way to get a lot open nearby or valet service or something like that. Some people might not mind the long walk thru dtla, but i sure dont. The thing that irritated me the most was how the venue security was deciding on who could or couldn't come in to the venue. They even turned people away when the organizers were trying to get everyone in. They kept saying capacity issues, when i walked in they could have easily let in another 100 people. They could learn from other venues on how to take care of paying customers.

Most importantly, the dynamic duo of Ashley and Ashley make Studio a wonderful place to be. They are responsive, attentive, accommodating, engaging, and really just two of the nicest people you will meet. We did our best to try to stay at Studio but unfortunately, there was just not a good fit for our unique needs as an organization but rest assured, we are sad to be leaving.

I signed up on Google for this tour that takes you around the Arts District with various stops around the neighborhood. A little bit of history for each stop. This is one of stops that is a bit more secured. It's not a secret knock or a code you need to know before entering. You need a reservation or permission to enter as this is now considered private property. We are invited guests so we get to roam around a little of this old factory with the history behind it all. They also invite artists to visit and create a mural for display. We happen to come on a day an artist from Canada was putting on the finishing touches of a mural from a picture he took the night before. It was all done with spray paint on the wall to right as you enter. We were told that a music video was done inside so one of the wall murals was created just for that shoot. Really great stuff to see if you ever get invited.
