It's a nice option from the typical well known Mexican beers that are mainly lagers. I tried a sampler of 8 beers. The waiter asked me my preference in terms of hoppiness, then chose a selection of beers that included IPAs, pale ales, a hellesbock and stouts. All were very good to excellent. I noticed there was also a Mexican tripel that was not included on the sampler. It was the only bad beer I had, lacking any of the nice yeast flavor so typical of Belgian tripels. I happened to sit next to an American businessman who loves Belgian beers. He ordered me a Delirium Tremens, which is an excellent tripel that was much better then the Mexican-brewed tripel. I highly recommend Fiebre de Malta for a good exposure to some excellent Mexican craft beers.

Multiple employees checked to see if we had everything we needed and each time my husband let them know he was missing his food. Finally after about 30 minutes and me being completely done with my food, his plate came out. Maybe with a prior reservation, the experience would be more positive. The restaurant is nice and has a clean and inviting atmosphere. But sadly, we just can't overlook the poor service we experienced.

Their inventory of mezcal is mostly made of their own brand (Alipus), but they have several others as well. We decided to go with a flight (5 mezcals of your choosing for 180 pesos) of the ones made from the same kind of agave but with different flavor profiles. There was an earthquake alarm that interrupted Pedro in the middle of pouring our flight, but he picked right back up after we returned to the bar. He recommended tasting them in the order he poured them from left to right as the flavors went from mildest to strongest. There's a water dispenser at the bar if you'd like to cleanse your palate between tastings. Or you can order an agua fresca of the day (30 pesos) to serve the same purpose. (We got to enjoy the watermelon with chia seeds, which was refreshing.) We enjoyed the middle three mezcals most, and we were wise enough to have just one flight between the two of us so we wouldn't need to take a siesta on the sidewalk. We will be back tomorrow for a flight of mezcals from five different states!
