Came here on a street food tour and we loved the psychedelic art all over the walls! The pulque was delicious and we tried all the flavors but the celery was our favorite! Bookmarking this place for next time we're in CDMX.

Bartender made margaritas with fresh strawberries... and he was generous with the tequila!

Nice little dive bar in the heart of downtown, right outside the mercado. A little difficult to find using Google maps as I don't think it works well in CDMX, but a great gem to go to when craving drinks after a long day of shopping and eating at the market nearby. The staff is super sweet and were nice about our broken Spanish. They made us blended margaritas that were great... and the bartender had a nice pour! They also made a requested off-the-menu Jamaica and tequila drink. The Jamaica tasted fresh and it was so good, flavorful and not too sweet. Great place to patron when in the area

You can't visit Mexico City without having some pulque or cortados de pulque. Place can be a bit intimidating, but staff makes you feel at home. When in doubt, ask for the "Charola de Prueba", which is a tray with samples of the Cortados of Pulque of the day.

Great hole in the wall. The pulque was delicious. If you hate small crowded places I don't think this place is for you. I loved it. Great people and great music! I had the Guayaba pulque and it was so good! My boyfriend had the avena one and he really liked that one!

Definitely an experience - pulque, dive, smell, crowd. The place was not light up from the outside, but super bright fluorescent lights in the inside. The young crowd seemed to be all in one spot - right here. There's loud music, people squeezing together, and cheap drinks. The pulque is slimy and not that tasty. Probably because it is at the end of the night and they are closing in less than one hour? Anyways, not the best experience. We will try another pulqueria next round.

Don't go here if you don't like rubbing elbows with boisterous crowds, sweating your balls off in a small room without air conditioning, and making friends with silly, drunk strangers. I saw the crowd walking in, and was initially hesitant. I'm glad I stayed, though. My group and I ended up getting three pitchers of original and mango pulque, which was probably way too much (we still finished!). If I had known they had the sampler, I would've gone for that. In my limited experience with pulque, their original is apparently closer in taste to most with slight bitterness and sour aftertaste, as opposed to the sweeter one I had in Xochimilco. If you're touring through Mexico City, I would recommend making the trip for the experience. Get drunk off insane amounts of pulque (pretty low alcohol content, so you have to make up by volume), witness some shady business, call somebody a "puto" when he/she breaks a glass, and make local friends while you're all sweating your balls off together. Man, I miss Mexico City.

Awesome spot! Super crowded and can feel intimidating at first, but we got to chat with some friendly locals and practice our Spanish a bit! Was a lot of fun. We had a sampler tray of different pulques for 150 pesos, which was a perfect way to try the original pulque and all the different flavors. Definitely recommend stopping by here to try pulque while visiting CDMX!

Super awesome, punk rock vibey bar in the center of the city. It was frequented with a ton of locals and was a very cool, non-toursity experience to have. If you don't mind being packed into a sweaty crowd, this is an awesome place to enjoy some pulque. We were approached by a waiter who took our order (sample platter of pulque) and was kind enough to bring it to us amongst the sweaty crowd! It was 100 pesos for 5 different flavors!

I have a unique appreciation for pulque, as a recovering alcoholic. Anything that is enjoyed primarily for social relaxation, like low alcohol beer, in a long session, seems like a pretty good idea for society. The flavors and textures of pulque are exciting and delicious. Its cool that you can't get stuff like this shipped up to the US. The organisms doing the fermentation wouldn't survive the trip north: this stuff is alive. It's also pretty cool that you can mix flavors, and order takeout. They will re-purpose a Coke bottle for your pulque. And for the guys, Las Duelistas features a very traditional pulqueria urinal. Hey, you know what else is alive in Las Duelistas: the walls and ceiling are covered in some pretty wild art.

While in Mexico City do visit this Pulqueria. It's a old tavern looking place but if you want the real deal Pulque this is where it's at! I tried all the flavors and every flavor was good. My favorite was the celery pulque with a peppery lime salt on the rim. On top of this they had one thing on the menu that was delicious. Chicharrón en salsa verde con papas and a side of tortillas. They had a couple of people that came in to sing and it was a cool vibe. Awesome would definitely go back.

We wanted to experience pulque on our trip and every book and website recommended this dive bar. We went on a Wednesday during the lunch hour. The bar was crowded but very accommodating. The waiter made sure we tried the sampler option and he explained everything thoroughly. He was very busy but he still made time to make sure we had a great experience. The oatmeal pulque was the best. If you want to truly experience Mexico City, I recommend this bar.

    Salud!

¡Puro pinchi pulque!…read more La Nuclear was the meeting spot for our Lucha Libre experience, and honestly, it was the perfect first stop. We got to try cheese pulque (yes, cheese ) and passion fruit pulque, plus tacos de canasta and drinks galore. Beyond the experience itself, I loved the vibe of this place. La Nuclear has been around for years and has that old-school, no-frills CDMX energy that makes it feel like you're actually experiencing the city rather than just checking off another tourist spot. We had such a good time that I actually came back again without the tour group--which probably says everything. Great pulque, great atmosphere, and definitely a memorable stop in CDMX.

La Nuclear is the pulqueria dive bar you've been looking for…read more Tucked in the very beautiful and popular Roma Norte, La Nuclear is easy to spot with their OG sign and well-worn interior. No frills, all quality and wholesomeness. The walls are coated with murals and hilarious graffiti with confessions like "Call me (number here)" and "Ama Mexico." My friend and I were the only ones on an early afternoon and we went with the flavored pulque. They did offer the original, but we did the guayaba and passiflora. Both were tasty. Loved meeting one of the pulque-tenders and he explained to us the process of making pulque regarding fermentation and the use of the "heart" of the maguey. SO rad. Plus the pulque is much less alcohol content, so it's a great digestive. The power of maguey! Phew! Highly recommend checking these guys out. Grab a few friends, as the tables can fit comfortable a group of four. The tables felt like church pews, but it creates a cozy and intimate space.
