I have been a patient of Dr. Jim's for over 15 years. I have had many dentists and periodontists during my long dental lifetime. Dr. Jim and his staff are unlike any other. He is kind and patient. He explains each procedure and is comforting and reassuring. His staff is pleasant and welcoming. There is no fear when entering the office as the entire staff is professional and competent. I took my wife here because she has a root canal and capped tooth that has been bothering her for ten years. I finally got infected and she wanted it pulled, on the phone we asked if they pull teeth and they said they do. $225 later we were recommend to a specialist that wanted to save it for $1900 + , we are not doing that for a tooth in the back of her mouth that could end up giving her trouble down the road so we went back to e.s.i. and they wouldn't pull it . So here was someone in pain and we got a run around ended up a a oral surgeon that pulled it for $425. So when they say they do everything they don't were never going back I do not recommend this dentistry. read more

I really can't say enough good things about this practice. My wife and I have been going here for a year and a half and we are both impressed with the level of care. Both dentists are very competent and take the time to thoroughly explain the problem and the possible treatments. A couple of months ago I had the final phase of an implant installed. It was a multi month procedure and it felt perfect right away. This is a very well run, professional office. I have never had to wait more than a couple of minutes in the waiting room. They are not the least expensive or the most expensive and I feel I am getting a good value. My hygienist, Anna, has a great touch and is very thorough. Pros, -the people are pretty nice. -The ambiance is comfortable, - I've never had to wait long for an appointment scheduling or sitting in the lobby. Cons. - Out of network means paying cash. (Once the nice girl at the desk had a delay in submitting my papers to insurance so I had a 2 week delay in getting my ins money, surprise during the holidays wasn't pleasant) - I had one tooth removed which had 2 issues. One was a piece of tooth broke off and was in my gums for a while and 2 they didn't tell me proper care instructions for a hole in my gums. Super painful, I was back in the chair 2 weeks later getting the chunk of tooth removed and a lesson on healing. - he tried to save a tooth from a root canal by doing a huge cavity. Turns out it wasn't saved and 6 months later I needed a full on Root canal. A for effort, F for performance. - laughing gas is $30. They are really good at selling it while I was sitting in the chair, then unpleasantly surprised at the register. I've since moved off long island but I would find a different dentist if I was still around. read more

Bad parts are: NO discount to Healthcare worker - NURSE during Corona viruse time. No discount for a person without dental insurance for procedure over $1,000.00. No calling on advance to notify for delay the procedure start time to prevent the customer waiting outside. Otherwise... everything BEAUTIFUL !!!!! read more

The staff and hygienist don't care about you and are awful. Also, they gave me terrible tmj from my last cleaning. Don't bother here. Doctors are ok, but other than that miserable to deal with staff. read more

I switched to this dental practice a few years ago and have been very pleased. I had a lot of work to be done and I was given a breakdown of the costs up front. Dr. Patrie is very gentle and professional. He explained everything he was doing and ensured I was comfortable. The office staff is very nice and the office is very clean and modern. When it's time for dental cleanings I actually enjoy it. Vanessa is gentle and friendly. I have total faith in this dental practice and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good dentist. As my family and I have recently moved to Long Island from Manhattan, we have struggled to find a practice that we could call home. We had some bad experiences on the island and after being highly recommended by my mother, we decided to check out ESI Dental and we could not be happier! The office is equipped with the latest state of the art technology and is kept immaculate. The entire staff is super friendly, helpful and knowledgable in all areas. Dr. K is so approachable and down to earth which makes going in for "scary dental procedures" feel like routine check ups. He explains everything that is going on with your oral health and goes over treatment plans with such grace leaving you feeling comfortable and confident. My 6 year old daughter needed some intense work done on a back molar and after a harrowing experience with a previous doctor, she was pretty nervous going in for the appointment. The moment she saw Dr K, she told me that she didn't even need me to stay in the room! She chatted and laughed with Dr. K the entire time, I couldn't believe it...the television in the ceiling playing Disney Channel also helped : ) I cannot say enough about how fabulous this office is. We could not be happier that we finally found a professional office that we can trust with our health and best of all, work within our budget for things that might not be covered by our insurance plans. I am happy to say that my entire extended family are now all patients of ESI Dental, age ranging from age 5-75 and dental appointments are now fun and exciting to go. read more

It is true about the bait and switch. A few months after both my husband and I went there for dental work, we received a letter stating that they have decided to no longer participate with any insurance. That we were to pay everything up front and they would submit the claim to our insurance and we would be reimbursed whatever the insurance decided to cover. We both cancelled our pending appointments. Only to receive a bill a month later. read more

This office will bait and switch you - we had gone there in the past and my wife went back again for a cleaning and a check up. When she went to check out she was told that they no longer carry her insurance. She asked why would you have not told me that before, and the rude and nasty receptionist replied - that's not our responsibility. And then proceeded to say that only Drs. do that, not dentists - stay far, very far away from this office and their unethical practices. who knows what else they are doing there . read more

Per a co-workers recommendation, I contacted Dr. K for a consultation regarding the terrible pain I was experiencing from my wisdom teeth. One week and 4 wisdom tooth extractions later, I feel great! I have always been nervous about visiting a dentist for any treatments/check-ups because of the significant tooth sensitivity that I have, but Dr. K alleviated all of that. AMAZING!! My husband is the biggest dental phobic person I have ever met. In ten years I haven't been able to mention a dentist without him breaking a sweat. Years ago we had tried a consult with another Sedation Dentist in Smithtown and it wasn't a good experience. Not only was this other dentist super pricey but he was very dramatic and made us feel like it was a scary procedure we needed. Needless to say we never went back. Recently. My husbands pain got so intense he was forced to entertain the idea of going to a dentist. I found Dr. K online and set up a consult. Leading up to the appointment my husband was terrified. He couldn't sleep and by the time we pulled up to the office he was almost crying! Dr. K is awesome!! He was so gentle and patient with my husband, making sure not to do anything that would cause him to bolt. He explained everything we needed and how it could be broken down into a couple of sessions. His staff laid out the prices of each service and noted which were the most pressing and which we could wait on. My husband had his first sleep sedation session last week and was feeling up to fishing two days later. His pain is almost gone and today he reminded me that we had a follow up appointment with Dr. K and was the first one in the car!! I can't say enough nice things about Dr. K and his staff. They are all so amazing and kind and you can't go wrong by trusting them. read more
