He spent so much time with me, easing my fears and worries that we would find the right place for my dad. He kept me updated all along the way with the waiting process. And he gave me such good advice during the time we were waiting for a spot to open up for my dad. I will never forget the kindness and compassion and dignity he showed our family along the entire process. Second, Lauren, the house manager at the home my dad was in. From day one, she came alongside my dad-really wanting to know him, to understand him, and to help him thrive during his time at All Seasons. Her care and love for dementia patients and their families is second to none. I was constantly amazed at not only her patience and kindness towards my dad (who was very difficult a lot of time) but also to us as his family who were trying to navigate the difficult behaviors and circumstances surrounding his disease. Care director does not manage the department well, instead blames and puts more responsibility on other staff (kitchen and medtechs). the medication department is terribly functioning (if you could call it that) without a manager. Working in this community is highly toxic, mentally draining and physically unhealthy and demanding. if you're sick, managers don't care, they will demand you to still work and expect you to find coverage for yourself. doesn't matter how much notice you give for request time off, don't plan on any vacations, your requests will be denied without any reason or acknowledgement unless you are kissing up. My mother passed away over a year ago and I am just now getting to posting about the experience we had. I couldn't bring myself to do it until now. I will never forget our experience. I was at Casa Coloma a couple of years ago and asked to be placed back there again. Luckily, they were able to accommodate me. The staff there are very responsive, caring, professional, and kind. They were always very pleasant and friendly, which is amazing to me considering the verbal abuse they are subjected to by people who do not want to be there. Whenever interacting with me, they always made me feel like I was their only patient. Whenever passing a staff member in the hall, I was aways greeted with a smile. Tanner, the Administrator, made himself very available to the patients, and seemed to know everyone's name which I felt was very impressive, considering the number of patients they had. I want to thank everyone there for the great care I received. I especially want to thank Meron, Maria, Cristina, CJ, and Brittany. They were some of my CNA's and nurses. They made my stay there very comfortable. A special thank you Marcy and Rachel who are 2 of the physical therapists I worked with. They were both very patient and extremely kind and caring to everyone. They were successful in getting everyone to move, even the ones that didn't want to. They made group therapy very fun and I, actually, looked forward to it. If you, or a loved one needs to be placed in a facility like this, I would highly recommend Casa Coloma.
