The staff are indeed actual Turkish natives and not just some local people like some takeaways you encounter, and attempt to try and make the food here flavoursome enough, as far as late night grease goes. I once had a kebab and chip out of here after one too many lemonades at the union and I was pleasantly surprised to find that it went down easy and did not repeat on me the next day!The shop's name also reminds me of my holiday to Marmaris last year which was fantastic, the thought makes me want to scuba dive so bad! I have to sign off by showing my one gripe about this place: it replaced the Burger Bar, which was the best late night food in the area!I would actually have willingly ate it sober, which is a bold statement indeed! Not that I did mind you, which may hint why it no longer exists.....

So when I go, I can feel ok about ordering the most disastrous thing on the menu (ladies and gentlemen; the curry chip with cheese!) as its now, technically, in my very bias opinion, a rare treat. Marmaris is a Turkish Kebab house, but also accommodates most products a bog standard chip shop would do. Everything is always cooked perfectly and tastes very nice as a snack after a night out. It's not a place to take a girl (although, I will shake your hand if you do), but it is the place to grab a bite with the guys after a night out.

All I can say is repulsive. Avoid like the plague. First…read morepart of my order - £5 doner kebab in naan bread with garlic sauce what I received was a Tesco's TORTILLA (I'm 100% serious) with less than 10 scrapings of cold, dry doner meat. I have no idea what the sauce was. It was a warm, thin, tasteless white yoghurt substance. Completely inedible. If you're used to ordering doner kebabs in naan bread, this is about 1/10th of the quantity and quality you'd normally receive from the dingiest of kebab shops. Then I ordered a £5.80 chip with doner kebab and house sauce. A (small) handful of cold, stale chips next to a Tesco pitta bread with a few strands of cold meat. Finally I ordered 21.5litre bottles of Coke. What I got was 11.5ltr bottle and 1500ml bottle! Unfortunately I had ordered online and they were gone by the time I caught wind of it. Not only do they make bad, inedible food, they also have no problem substituting what you ordered with something of 1/3 of the value. The whole experience was actually offensive. Seriously, go somewhere else. EDIT: Just looked them up and apparently they got a food standard rating of 1, which means Major Improvement necessary. The only score worse than a 1 is a 0. And it's out 5. Speaks for itself.

I've just had THE BEST falafel platter I've tasted in a very long time - in the recently opened Levantine on Callender Street. Absolutely delicious! Everything is vegetarian and there are loads of vegan dishes to choose from off a large menu consisting of platters, wraps, tagines, mezzas, soups and salads. Cannot wait to come back and try the eggplant falafel wrap, chilli and meat-free veggie balls...

The next 2 times however has been quite disappointing. 1. The ordering is a nightmare. They don't give you a number and don't remember who ordered so it's a bit of a free for all. No idea why they can't call out numbers on the receipt. Each time we go, someone is pissed about having waited too long. 2. The first time we went, we got hummus on the side of a delicious Halloumi wrap but the next time, there was no hummus and the wrap was completely devoid of any dressing and didn't have much filling at all. The lack of consistency is not appealing. If they manage to stick to consistent food and finally sort out their ordering process, this can be the best middle-eastern food in Belfast (in spite of being vegetarian!)
