I understand a markup but $8 for a beer when before the round you can buy one in the restaurant for under $5. But top that with $8 for a regular size candy bar and $8 for a pack of peanut butter crackers. Save yourself money and pack your own drinks and snacks. But do enjoy the beautiful course!

First of all, how have I never heard of this course? While it is quite the drive from home, it was worth the trip to play a course none of our foursome have played. Starter was friendly and informative. Course had NO HOUSES on it which is an anomaly in Jacksonville. It was close to what I think is the Fernandina airport - we saw some folks parachuting - but tree lined fairways and openness was a pleasant backdrop for our day. Tee boxes were maybe an 8 out of 10 - some needed some work but trees can have an effect with how the sun hits them so there is only so much that can be done. Fairways were well maintained and greens were consistent on every hole. If you're off the fairway, you will be penalized. Not a lot of room in the rough then past that, and your ball is gone - either in a creek or just a drop off in the woods. I lost a sleeve which is pretty good considering not ever having played here. Maybe that's why my shots taken were less risky. They even had a little TPC-esque 17th island hole almost - short but all water carry to the green. We will definitely be back - and soon.

The attendant at the pro shop was very nice and provided a lot of insight on the course. I shot even par and my wife had fun as well. There is water holes so be prepared if you're not an avg golfer however there are tee boxes to help minimize the water in play except on number 10 which is an island green.

Ample parking, inside the building was spacious and well set up for a lunch buffet. The restrooms were clean and convenient and having the store onsite provides ability to purchase ammo and other needs for your shooting comfort. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly and before the competition started with a safety briefing and explanation of the rules. I was particularly impressed with the golf-course style course where we were provided a golf cart to navigate the north and south courses to accommodate our very large gathering! Our groups first station had a malfunction in the throwing machine and they very promptly had staff out to attempt to fix it. I did not get to try out the trap range as it wasn't a part of our experience but overall I'm really impressed with the facilities and staff. I'm looking forward to coming back in the future!

Intrigued by what we saw at the Amelia Island Museum, we wanted to see the place for ourselves…read more Basically this beach was a place during the 1930-60s where Afro Americans could go to enjoy the beach. It was 1000 feet of beach front, purchased by an African American Insurance Executive. There were famous entertainers who performed at the now defunct club. The day we visited there were lots of trucks parked on the beach and lots of fishermen. Besides the beach, what I really wanted to see was NaNa, the tallest sand dune in Florida. Standing some 60+ feet, named by a somewhat famous black entertainer who performed throughout Europe,but made American Beach her home.
