Our gym closed last month... so we joined. First, the good points: large turf area with lots of functional fitness options (box jumps, battle ropes, tires, etc). Large free weight area with multiple squat racks. Cardio equipment on the 2nd floor as well as 4 indoor racquetball courts. Pool and hot tub are currently closed so can't speak on those. The bad: some equipment is showing age (the rowing machines as an example) and are not thoroughly cleaned. There is not a large staff to clean or monitor. Many gym members do not rerack their equipment properly or wipe equipment down. Part of the issue is minimal cleaning stations throughout the gym. Instead, there are spray bottles at the entrance for members to walk around with and use. This can be cumbersome. I'd prefer cleaning stations with wipes or spray bottles and paper towels centrally located. Locker room is decent. Haven't had to shower here but definitely bring shower shoes! If new to fitness or lifting, walk in with a plan. If you decide to go with one of their trainers, you do get locked into a contract so understand that going in. read more

I went there about a year ago for my first time i immediately was called over and they were trying to put me on a weekly trainer thing i said no multiple times and they were trying to charge me insane prices for a 19 year old and even were calling people on the phone to try and get my money too they are quite literally trying to scam people.Not too mention that same day someone recorded me during a workout and posted me on snapchat trying to clown me.Theres bad vibes there I cancelled my membership immediately.Outside of that the facility is nice but that doesn't give it points for how my experience was.And I was charged like $100 something never again. read more

Be very careful with signing up for Personal Training. Mohamed, a salesman there, left many important details out such as cancellation fee, number of months in the term, and that sessions were only 25 minutes. I clarified all of these things verbally prior to signing but what was written in the contract was very different. They will scam you into paying more for longer. It is a shame because I signed up for Personal Training to better myself and to get stronger. I knew it was expensive but I felt it was well worth it. People in sales are truly the problem and will take advantage of anyone. However, Jose is an AMAZING trainer. But actually read the contract and do not take the sales guys word for anything. read more

So disappointed with Esporta's business model. Right when you walk in, there are about 8 desks with sales people ready to sweet talk you into a membership. We weren't even able to see the gym first, we were herded right to one of the desks. It felt like a timeshare presentation.... Such a predatory way of doing business. The gym does not have a friendly comfortable vibe. The whole time we were touring the gym we were just being eyeballed by different staff. So weird. I stop by to join the gym. signed up. then I noticed 2 charges. one for training one for Jim membership. I was told my total amount is going to be $198 a month but I was charged $228 a month. I stop by to a week later to make it right, I was told by GM . there is nothing they can do but use the buyout 50% loss. Not a healthy way of doing business... I felt scammed. I did. Just signed up December 31. They stated the pool would be open that Friday. Still not open and no straight answer of when it will open. The place is a dump. It's filled with kids that just hang out and sit on machines. No one and I mean no one wipes down machines. No one re-racks weights. Bathroom is usually a disaster with garbage all over the floor and sink clogged. Lockers are dirty inside and not cleaned. Over crowded and machines are too close together. Staff is non existent as far as enforcing any kind of structure or policy. Oh and be sure you smoke a blunt prior to entering as everyone else does. Update, went in today Jan 20, no toilet paper or paper towels in the women's bathroom. I told the girl working the desk. Her response was, "in the women's bathroom?" Brilliant. Upon finishing my workout, went into the bathroom to wash my hands, still no paper towels. I wasn't surprised. read more

gym is not a safe place to work out. locker rooms have items stolen. cars broken into in parking lot. high staff turnover. was told in January that pool would be fixed - pool permantly closed in February. my credit card has erroneously been charged and disputing with bank. LA is defiantly super corporate.... I'm formerly a Co-Ed RAC member until they were bought. With that said, they are lacking in personality and people pleasing. Can we get some fans in the cycling room? Where is the comment box? The folks behind the desk/counter could careless about suggestions and feedback. Also, staff is always on their phones behind the counters and when training guests. Make sure you check out the cycling classes. All of the instructors are fabulous. read more

I would say Esporta is my favorite gym to come to when I'm in town to visit my grandparents and family. This gym is sometimes busy but I've had the most help from Tony, Jake, and Q. They really provided a safe and healthy environment for me to feel comfortable when first coming in. I've been coming here since I was 12 and I haven't gone to a different gym. Two stars because of the Eleiko plates, barbell, platform, and the protein/supplement shack. Otherwise one of the most poorly managed gyms I've ever been to. Showed of more than once where they close the whole gym down for "maintenance." Bathrooms are continuously out of order with half the sinks working. Facility as a whole is pretty dirty. There's maybe 1 or two actually decent personal trainers there for you to sign up with, otherwise they are an eyesore to watch what they put people through (this is coming from an established strength and condition coach of multiple years). I don't think they know how to use the AC either because the gym is continuously a sauna. Not at all an inviting gym for new members. If it wasn't for my cheap membership, the couple of friendly staff and the Eleiko platform I'd be gone. read more

Recently moved from Buffalo to Rochester and was looking for a gym nearby Greece. I'm not much for chains in general but the class schedule online for LAF looked interesting and the 5:45am start worked with my schedule so I gave it a shot; I got a free 5 day pass by signing up on the website. I was impressed. Facilities are in great shape, and plentiful. The 5:45 classes were involved and a real workout, from spinning to plyometrics. The locker room is outstanding, and there is a lap pool and sauna. The smoothie bar looked clean and attractive, although I'm not much for spending $7 for a smoothie there were a lot of interesting options. All in all I recommend and will join. The hard sell by the sales team is annoying but not too drawn out. read more

I've been in the gym since middle school. I have worked out at small gyms, college gyms, big gyms. This has been my favorite. Everything is clean, new, and well maintained. It's never too crowded and there's always an employee around if you need a spot. There are a variety of classes with accessible times, personal trainers available, and a full spa/ pool. Even a basketball count for your leisure. I have been a member here for a couple years and don't plan on going elsewhere. read more

Still a dump and it's now the end of March 2023. The latest, the drinking fountain was clogged so they just put a big bag over it. Some sinks in both bathrooms are clogged or not working at all. Several machines are not working and they just stick a sign on it. Went to do squats and there was gum stuck on two weights. The emergency exit door is blocked by the landmine barbell. Hmmm, hazard/violation? And how about the bloody cloth that sat on the floor for days. Again, hmmm biohazard. If you are thinking of signing up, run, and run fast. read more

I'll start off by saying that the majority of people who go there do not wipe off the equipment when they are done. So I have to wipe everything off before and after I use it. This is extra gross during the winter when people are sick and during the summer when its a sweat box in there. During the summer the air conditioning is on but it is super super hot in there. During spinning class, because there are no fans, it is almost unbearable. Because it is corporate, they do not give their instructors a lot of room to be creative or to use their own music. They have to choose from certain music. Also the classes aren't as challenging as one would like. When asked about this they said they had to gear their work out to the older crowd so everyone could do it. Most places give you a challenging work out and give the older crowd different options of how to do things differently if they are unable to keep up. Having come from the RAC, the classes are subpar and sometimes just disappointing. A lot of the instructors do not change up their routines weekly or even monthly making them boring. Most of the instructors have been teaching for a very long time and should have more room to do what they want and to be creative with their music & style. What I do like is that they have a pool although I've never been in it but I like having the option. I love that they have a basketball court. I also like that there is racquetball, although you have to pay extra for this. This gym is usually very packed and can be uncomfortable at times. Alot of the Other gyms had to close because of this place and all the people came over here, including myself. They haven't really left us with many options in the Greece area. I go here because it is a convenient drive after work. read more

Just like my previous review of the LA Fitness in Henrietta, this gym also has a lot to offer: The fitness machines, classes, pool (which I think is smaller?), basketball court, and racquetball court. The racquetball court is a nice addition that is not offered at the Henrietta location. I've yet to witness someone use it, and I have no idea if equipment rentals are included. This gym's upkeep is as well as Henrietta's, and if I'm not mistaken has more cardio and cable machines than my home gym. Maybe the sheer size of this facility makes me believe that. This gym has more equipment than Henrietta, is just as well kept, and offers the same amenities... so why 3 stars instead of 4? It's simply because the staff isn't personable. Coming here I don't feel as welcomed and the staff demeanor seems nonchalant or borderline cavalier. Oh well, I only come here to work out when I'm visiting my favorite car shop. read more

The LA Fitness in Greece is useless to me now. Almost every machine that I normally use has an Out of Service sign on it! Meanwhile in Webster I can still use almost every machine that I normally do. In addition, the Greece location is not enforcing the mask policy as I saw people in the cardio are not wearing their masks. Close off most of the machines but allow people to not wear masks? Doesn't make a lot of sense. read more

Growing very concerned over the health hazard that this location is becoming. The same hair clumps are stuck to the walls in the showers that have been there since November of 2021. The same soap squirts on the walls for months. Don't want to think about what's there that we can't see! The curtains in the showers are turning orange. NEVER EVER are we without sandals to walk ANYWHERE inside the facility, but especially around the pool area, which we've never seen cleaned since we joined in mid-2021. The lifeguard (not his job) tests the water and almost daily, we see him dumping chlorine into the pool because the auto-chlorinator has been "broken for 2 years" and the "building maintenance people do absolutely nothing." The pool lane lines have been broken for over 6 months. Stay away ALWAYS from the hot tub - literally a sesspool and frequently looks like a green haze steaming off the water. Disgusting. Staff is very nice. With very little effort, this could be great. read more

Would rate this 0 out of 10 but wont let me. This place is a complete scam. Be careful when signing up for anything at this branch. I signed up for a membership and was spoken to about personal training. They should be the month charge and sessions. I informed them I could not afford that price and i was told they could give me the month for discounted price to try. I agreed to give it a shot. NEVER WAS TOLD IT WAS 12 MONTH CONTRACT. I also was never given a disclaimer outlining the contract terms. I was told by the person who was signing me up to just sign the little box in front of me. Never did he tell me or show me the computer screen for each signature he requested. The training manager also never mentioned that after the discounted price it would resume at the full price for another 11 months. They know what they are doing but signing you up this way. I have attempted to contact corporate and after 5 DAYS of calls back and forth was informed the VP was not going to issue any refund or work with me at all. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT go to this gym there are plenty of other places that would be more up front then they are. Not to mention they are always closing for some reason or another. I was just released from prison after failing to make multiple alimony payments to my ex wife, it's a long story but I digress. Anyways, I never liked the gym equipment they had in prison. Way to DIY for my liking. If you wanted to work out you pretty much had to fill milk jugs with sand or do push ups. I was given a gift card to LA fitness for my birthday so I thought I'd give it a try. Man I never realized how out of shape I was. I tried doing some stretches and throwing around the medicine ball but I became very self conscious after realizing how fit and good looking everyone was. I just gathered up my things and left. The staff are very nice they wished me a good day as I left. I needed to hear that.... Anyways I don't know if I'll come back, I feel so ashamed of myself. For a full review of LA Fitness as a whole and in a franchise/corporate standpoint, I wrote one on the Henrietta location. Specifically to the Greece location, I was frustrated because I use my phone for music streaming, and this location has spotty cell service. I prefer the layout of the machines in Henrietta, and I have to agree with previous reviews about the cleanliness. Make sure you wipe down your machined before you use them, most people don't have the common courtesy. read more

I signed up with LA Fitness today. It was my last day on my free week pass, and I was still on the fence. I decided to speak to somebody about some questions I had regarding the membership fees, etc. I was directed over to the office area, and the process was extremely easy. Please forgive me when I say that I am horrible at names...the man who helped me was extremely nice and I believe the general manager. He was great! He outlined the plans for me and told me which each one was, why one was more expensive, all that jazz, and I opted for the single club, 29.95 per month membership. The initiation fee was dropped, which was a huge turning point in my decision, and I was assured there were no cancellation fees, renewal fees, annual fees...nothing like that. It's hard to say no to only $30 a month for pool, sauna, numerous cardio machines (all in perfect condition), tons of wight lifting equipment, a free fitness assessment with a personal trainer, classes, a huge locker room, a juice bar, and Volleyball/Racquetball leagues. Planet Fitness was $10 a month, yes, but extremely bare bones, they charged you an annual fee every year, and it costs to cancel. (The machines there were also, usually, in terrible condition) For an extra $20, I'll spend a couple more months at LA Fitness, and if I don't like it, I can cancel with no stress or charges. I feel confident that I will enjoy my new gym experience and will update if need be. read more

it was my first time at this gym almost 2 weeks ago and when I was there i just wanted to look around but the GM Austin ginger with glasses kept on insisting I follow him to take a tour and when I declined he insisted I follow him to take a tour after the tour he sat me down at his desk and started talking about getting a membership but I didn't even get to see how the gym was or the atmosphere around the gym but he just was so interested of me becoming a member and was forcing me to give him my bank information that I did not give him and after he finally left me alone he texted me the next day early in the morning asking if I wanted a membership I told him no and he kept asking why and I told him that he made me uncomfortable and he gave me a half-ass apology and later that day he called asking me again if I wanted the membership he saved just for me and I told him no and the I talked to him earlier that morning he acted like he didn't know what I was talking about and then kept on texting me over and over again until I had to block his number and the gym number after he kept calling me and making appointments and leaving me voicemails. read more
