Severely unkept , bathroom is unsanitary and always has broken machinery. Severely understaffed. Whoever owns this gym must hate it.

2 stars for location but 1 star for everything else. I'll use this gym whenever I'm in town visiting family but would never get a membership to this specific gym soley for the lack of equipment maintenance. This used to be an Esporta and it appears they just bought the building as is, with Esporta's old equipment and never updated. Most of the equipment is very run down so much so that you can't see the weight numbers on several of the machines. They do have a sauna and pool but I've never used either. Locker rooms are clean and during morning hours it's relatively quiet. I have noticed that the people who go to this one tend to not have the best gym etiquette (hogging multiple machines, standing and talking at machines they're not using and won't move, and forget anyone re-racking anything where it should be). Staff were nice enough though and didn't run into any issues. I would look at other gyms in the area that have better equipment for the price. read more

I wish I could post pictures of how nasty this place is. all of the bathrooms in the men's room are out of order and that's including the sinks as well. theres always water puddles on the floor and the sauna has been broken for months. this place is filthy. no one cleans and no one fixes whats broken. read more

The dirtiest facility and the dirtiest, most dishonest salesmen and managers. I wanted to try out the gym and went in one day. They offered me a 2 week trial pass for my entire family but I had to give a credit card in order to create an account. I was told by the sales guy (Juan) at the Randolph LA Fitness that if I tried out the gym and didn't like it, as long as I told them before the 2 week trial was over, my card would NOT get charged. We went on 12/14 and did not like the gym. It was filthy, and while they have both a male and female custodian, the male was cleaning the women's bathroom while women were in there coming pit of the showers and sauna. I called on 12/15 and told Kenny (the manager) we didn't like the gym, weren't joining and wanted to make sure my card would not be charged. He assured me it would not. On 12/27, at the end of what would have been the trial period, my card was charged almost $300. Unauthorized, without my consent. What I've gone through since then, just trying to get my money back is a joke. Kenny is "not available" when I call, or they simply don't pick up, and dealing with corporate is no better. Carol at corporate is a liar and useless. Like Kenny, she's "not available" when I call and if you leave messages, she doesn't call you back. Both Kenny and Carol are liars as well. They tell you they'll resolve things for you and that they have put a credit through, but the don't. I was able to temporarily stop the charge from going through with my credit card company, but LA Fitness, who has been contacted by this credit card company after I disputed the charge, is not cooperating to reverse it. Stay away from this place. They're dishonest and dirty and have been sued by the FTC for doing this to countless customers! read more

This is a solid fitness club with wide variety of amenities , equipment , and space . It can be a bit crowded during peak hours, and overall is a little past its prime , but it's a solid fitness center for the price . IMO some childcare hours , and a little updating could make this an easy 5 star club read more

Things have just been piling up with this gym. They changed the terms of my agreement without telling me. They changed my privileges for my membership without telling me. They keep me paying twice the amount as other people for the same privileges even though that's not what our agreement says. Management is an honest mess. Either they're incredibly fickle or they're extremely incompetent. Constantly telling everyone one thing and then changing it behind everyone's backs. They started changing the hours of volleyball on us. Management won't talk to us either when it's not "office hours". We can't get in touch with their management because everyone works from 9-5 and they refuse to take calls. I'm just feeling helpless, that there's nothing I can do when their management changes whatever they want on us. Feeling really abused as a customer. read more

When people feel entitled! Holding down several machines or equipment with personal belongings and nothing done about it. I pay membership as well as everyone there but asked to get off a machine because someone stationed their stuff while on another machine. read more

In the process of choosing a new gym. Made an appointment to get a tour of Esporta in Raldoph. The place and equipment looked acceptible, the guy giving us the tour did a passable job but couldn't answer a question I had and we walked over to the reception desk to ask someone else. The guy sitting inside the desk area had his feet up on the desk and a toothpick sticking out of his mouth. He expertly answered my question with a "No, idea what you are asking about" without even disturbing his posture or his toothpick. Hence, this confirms my suspicion of the quality of the management the place which was also stated in other reviews. read more

Gym has great equipment but it's an absolute mess. Here's what you'll experience if you decide to go here. No one re-racks their waits and if they do, they re-rack them in the wrong places and just pile them on the floor. There's used paper towels all over the floor everywhere you go especially in the bathroom which rarely has toilet paper or working locks on the stalls. People always spray incense in the sauna so it burns your eyes, so that's not an option half the time. Kids just hang out in the bathroom and don't even work out. Basically no one knows how to clean up after themselves or give common courtesy. With that being said, I'd say find a different gym. Not worth any price for that. read more

I joined this gym out of convenience, and left the gym because I moved, but also because I was tired of the crappy customer service here . Whenever I would call to upgrade my account, no one from the sales team was available. Eventually, I decided to cancel my account, which required me going in to the gym, even though I had already moved an hour away . The one thing I did really love about the gym or the Zumba classes. Had some really amazing and especially energetic instructors, who actually taught you dance moves instead of a 2018 version of jazzercize . However, I found the management to be really crummy here. I had an incident (or three) here where my child was hurt by another kid in the child care center. I repeatedly called the manager to ask him to address the family of the child that hurt mine, and he did not return my calls. I did speak with him twice ( since I was calling on a daily basis I connected once) and he told me there really wasn't anything that he could do. thanks for nothing, Nick. read more

The quality of the facility & equipment has deteriorated. Maintenance of broken equipment is nonexistent. No follow up by management.

The reason why I joined this gym is because it had kids club. (Keep in mind, this is a very expensive gym in the area). The kids club is permanently closed and they don't allow your kid to sit near and watch cartoon while you're on treadmill (and can see your kid easily). So this is kind of discriminating against parents who need to exercise but have no other options to leave the kid with somebody. They basically advertised something that they can't deliver. read more

IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO JOIN A GYM THERE ARE MANY BETTER OPTIONS THAN HERE. THEFT, RUDE/UNHELPFUL STAFF, DIRTY, VERY SUB-PAR "CHILDCARE". Che When I first started coming here it was new and therefore nice. Months later I started to notice things weren't getting cleaned, dust all over the floor, tiny bits of garbage, broken things not being fixed. A water fountain - basic necessity of a gym, water - was broken for almost a year without being repaired. I left the gym for about two years because I have had two children in that time and now that I've come back, again two years later, the door in the ladies locker room is still broken. Rude staff that have zero interest in anything except themselves, and are incompetent when it comes to assisting or answering questions. And if you have kids? I wouldn't recommend leaving them in the "child care" area. It's a room with some things to climb on right near the front door and WIDE OPEN WITH NO LOCKS. I walked right in tonight. Two children playing and no adult/staff member in sight. After a minute someone came out of the bathroom and didn't even ask who I was or what I was doing there. Seemed very uninterested in my questions and her job. Please don't leave you children there. read more

LA FITNESS/ ESPORTA STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! My son, who just graduated high school last year, decided to do his 1st real adult purchase by getting a membership here in October of 2022. They talked him into getting a personal trainer. $33.06 for a monthly membership and $462 per month for a personal trainer. He tried cancelling the membership but they told him that he still has to pay for the rest of the year. It is now April and he is about $3,500 in the hole with this place. I found out a month ago and immediately reported his card lost. This did not work because he had signed a contract. April 26th both payments were taken out of his account again, even after I had called to cancel his membership. We are now going to the bank to close out his accounts. This company preys upon the naive. My son is legally an adult but is still too young to know any better. I wish that I had learned of this earlier, I would have acted much faster. At his age, he is trying to establish credit for his future but, instead, has to keep on paying overdraft fees and late payments. LA Fitness/ ESporta, you should be ashamed of the way that you conduct business, especially when dealing with younger clientele that have no clue of the repercussion's of that signature. I will tell everyone that wants to hear about how badly you absolutely suck. I hope that this is the beginning of your failure as a company. read more

The worst of the worst customer services people, yesterday i was attacked and been called F$%^& B$%% over the phone by one of the front desk girls, i called that place for an answer 9 times, and the 9 times they hanged up on me, laughing and they didn't provide me their names, im so disappointed that in this times, racism still exist. I CANCELED my membership they ripped me of with personal training they never provided me and always CANCELED me at last minute.They never called me for an apology. Since my initial review - I've had 2 friends on two separate occasions, had their locked lockers broken into and transferred to other parts of the locker room for one, and boldly enough belongings transferred outside to the main floor. Clearly the management does not care about security issues here - and only cares about making money; hence the re-design of the gym to increase the personal training footprint, by decreasing the common area space for ab workouts. read more

LA Fitness in Randolph offers the best Zumba instructors. I only joined the gym because I took a Zumba class that Eneida had and I was hooked. The music and steps Eneida used were really exciting!!!! Can't say enough about her classes...used to get there 30 minutes early and wait in line, and I'm not the greatest dancer. I am so sorry she is no longer teaching! Get Her Back!!!!! Gio and Tom are both amazing Zumba instructors too!!! Really enjoy their classes!!!! I also travel to Parsippany to take their classes!!!! My family uses the gym equipment! I don't belong to this gym, I have my daughter enrolled for swim lessons with Starfish Aquatics (not affiliated with LA Fitness, they are amazing and the only reason I haven't looked for other places to have lessons). Anyways, this LA fitness is disgusting...from the moment you walk in, the floor leading from the front to the locker rooms is covered in spots...when you realize they are salt spots from people dripping sweat, that's when the nausea sets in. The pool and pool area need a good scrubbing, the pool Itself seems ok but if you walk past the hot tub and take a peek in they may as well have just filled a dumpster with hot water and threw some jets in it. I don't know if it just has to do with the new generation of people running the show that have zero work ethic and just don't give a sh*t or if it's a corporate thing but if I actually paid a membership fee here I would be furious. Unfortunately, this is wear the swim lessons have to be and until the swim school can find another location nearby I'm stuck. read more

Came to this awful place from LA in Parsippany which also had a sauna "scheduled for repair". The kid at the front desk "Jay" was a disrespectful individual. Refused to get off his phone. I've started coming to LA Fitness in Randolph after jointing at the Parsippany location. It is worth the extra 10 minute drive just to be in a cleaner gym. I enjoy the spin classes and want to try their available yoga and body works classes. Some machines need updates and many machines need to be deep cleaned, as you can see the rust caked on, such as with the elliptical machines. However, in comparison to the Parsippany location, Randolph is light years ahead. Every time I've come to the gym, I witness a cleaning staff member taking out trash and picking up paper. Women's locker room is in pretty good shape. I'll keep driving the fee extra minutes for the better experience. read more

This gym is terrible. It stinks. The spin bikes are old and all need calibration. Theres only one or 2 good spin instructors left. I recommend Afifa and Lindsay. The equipment is outdated. The classes are also outdated. Where are the barre classes? The front desk staff is terrible too. They are lazy and show zero drive to work. This lucario will probably go under. Wow! I honestly still Can't believe this happened to me. I signed up to Attend the gym. Next day life took a turn and I was unable to go. I contacted the gym to cancel who stated that I would need to come in Person to cancel or I would mail in a form. I physically could not go To the gym to cancel, therefore I mailed in a cancellation. This gym is confusing - a bit of a pig with lipstick if you will. Pros: -clean (minus the pool that is periodically closed) - bathrooms are very clean! -lots of equipment and good variety of classes. -excellent child care room - really these folks are extremely good with my kids! Cons: -over the last 2 years they reduced the stretching area to add more personal training area -pool is open sometimes and closed others - no warning - sometimes no sign -swimming/pool instructors are de-prioritized - honestly not sure why. most classes have 30 people, yet it's not important to them. this is very important for you to consider if you are looking at this gym from a pool perspective -hot tub is not always maintained - when you see bubbles you should not get in - this is dead skin cells, bacteria and products that are festering in the warm environment Management doesn't care - yup not at all. In the last 2 days one guy told me 'corporate doesn't tell us anything'. manager walked out the other day angry and pushed the door so hard it hit me in the head. yup - and he didn't turn around. do i have his name - yes - would i post it - lets see who would ask. This is important the thing to consider - if you are looking for the gym experience with high customer service this is NOT the gym. If you are happy to show up, use the equipment/pool and do not need to interact with anyone you are good to go here. read more

I joined LA Fitness because my boyfriend and my friends all use this gym and it also happens to be in a rather convenient location since I'm back home for the summer. And after paying my dues and going a couple times, I'm starting to regret this decision to better myself. After using my college's campus this past year, I've gotten a little spoiled. The place was clean. The staff was friendly and attentive. Even the gym-goers we're friendly. There was a lot of equipment. The opposite could be said for this place. Mind you, I was just talking about a COLLEGE gym. Not exactly the most appealing place since it's full of college kids 24/7 but damn, it seems like a damn Mercedes next to LA Fitness's Honda. The staff, save for like a few people, are not the most energetic or friendly bunch. Smile dude. It wouldn't kill you. Like today, I was checking in with my boyfriend and one guy who was on the computer at the main desk was giving me the evil eye. Sir, you can give me that evil eye once you fix your lazy eye so I know which one to look at. The place also isn't the cleanest. Maybe that's just me being a germaphobe, but I've been very thankful I've been carrying my hand-sanitizer from Bath & Body Works with me every time I go to the gym because I've been finding out that their hand sanitizer is usually empty. The worst gym ever, My lock box got robbed and when I told the staff they didn't even care! All my personal things and my wallet and gym bag and my Cole Haan jacket got stolen and they just smiled !!! And after 2 weeks they gave my wallet back, apparently somebody brought it back and even tho they knew it was stolen they didn't care to ask that person where he found it!!! Two words describe my experience here - overcrowded and attitude I visited this place as a guest and to compare an LA Fitness setup compared to local ones I have been a member. Now I understand that I visited at probably the worst (busiest) time for fitness centers, between 6-8pm on a weekday. I will say that this place was quite clean. This included the workout areas, the dressing area and the bathroom facilities. Good job indeed. One of my problems is that they need more cardio machines. I was never able to get on a treadmill but was fortunate to get on an elliptical and that was luck that I walked up just as a person was finishing. I like to work primarily cardio and this was a challenge for me. Except for one person, friendliness thy name is not LA Fitness in Randolph. I mean come on folks, how about a smile and a friendly tone. What got me was that even most of the customers carried a bit of an attitude. So was this place great ? No it was just not an easy, enjoyable time. The finding of open machines was stressing. However, the machines they have (if you can get on them) are very nice. And like I said before, the place is quite clean and that is a nice attribute. read more

I visit the gym frequently , and this time I was very disappointed , first of all they gave me a hard time just because I brought my brother along with me, ( BIG DEAL) my brother would have probably signed up for it if they didn't have an attitude to begin with. Half hour went by and I went to buy a bottle of water , oh but they didn't even have the counter open! So I tried to at least get change to get it from the vending machines, they said "we don't carry any change , but there's a licor store two stores down " seriously? This is our second time returning to LA Fitness because our insurance company pays for our membership here. Still very disappointing. The pool sides look as if they haven't been cleaned for months. While swimming, there was a Band-Aid on the bottom of the pool. Also, the showers frequently have hair in the drains. A cleaning program needs to be put in place. read more

Yelp gets paid by a lot of big companies so I will give my honest view but yelp might erase it again . The male employees at this gym for the most part suck. They are arrogant and rude. My girl doesn't work out here anymore be they harass her to no end. They have employees that train members but this one short young spanish kid is the worst. Loud and obnoxious while working the customer and pretending no one els matters. I pay to work out too buddy !!! He also works out on is off time. He takes off his shoes and works out in socks!! I just joined this gym a few months ago for my New Years Resolution and I AM LOVING IT. I look forward to going after work! It's clean- very impressive for the amount of people constantly working out at the facility. Not to mention it doesn't break my bank account. The staff is friendly, and make me feel at home which is refreshing because my last fitness center was so intimating. The manager James, is always so welcoming and helps me when I try to use new equipment. The classes are fun but challenging and I have been really able to pick up yoga! I have brought a few friends as guests and they are now members too! read more

I'm member but just about to drop out ! I join mostly because of the location . Their yoga doesn't offer mats and blocks like other places like YMCA, also some of the instructor are rude to other in class .I have seen her stopping the class to make example of a member of what they were doing wrong!!! Not nicely!!!Really that is what you are there for, to learn in Yoga class . Their spa was out of order for a Month, no group email to inform you . Also I was told when I bought my membership that I could freeze if needed. Well I need it due to surgery .when I called their customer service told me otherwise ,I never really printed my contract which was send to me through email , I guess my found!! But I'm not able to use the facilities due to medical condition for 6 to 8 weeks!! Seriously !!! But they would rather have me cancel my membership . read more

The gym itself is OK but the people that work there need to take happy pills. This gym was once really great now it's gone down hill. Most of the people that welcome you at the front desk don't bother to smile or greet you, that is not how you wanna start when you walk into a gym. Classes provided aren't what they use to be either. If you wanna lift some weights and run on the treadmill you would do fine here, but you could do it a lot cheaper else where with nicer staff. I eventually left this gym. Today was my first time using this gym. The equipment is impressive and appears well maintained. But I was surprised with the lack of stretching room or even a basic hamstring strap. Also, I'm surprised that there aren't any kickboxing classes. Just seems to lack variety. Workout towels would be nice too!! read more

Stay away from here. I've been an LA Fitness Member since 2010 because back in the day, it was THE PLACE to go. Now.. times are changing and LA is considered THE scummiest, shadiest gyms in the world. The gym (or should I say the company) is run by people who hate their jobs. Also, the "personal trainers" here are uncertified with no background education background. (FYI- don't believe a word that comes out of their mouth!) I restarted my membership JUST a few weeks ago to get back in shape. I brought my mom with a guest pass since she was thinking about restarting hers too. As we entered, they gave us such a hard time. Please beware that when you sign up for a guest pass.. it won't go easy. They will hunt you down before you can even get a workout in and make you sit for an hour by asking bunch of questions.. then they will pressure you into signing a membership before you even go to try out your guest pass. I don't get the process but as they say "it's mandatory". It's a very uncomfortable, scary, tactic they use for their customers. Anyways, the really irritated-who-hates-his-job manager wanted my mom to sign up for a membership today. It's frustrating because she wanted to feel out the gym first before making her decision but the people here make it impossible for you to do that. They will sell you on "this offer ends tonight!" but please don't fall for that. They mentioned that they were having a $34.99 monthly deal with no initiation fee if she signed up today. But I soon realized.. she was only allowed to go to this location where as I'm paying $29.99 to workout at any LA location. When I brought that up, the manager got annoyed. I told him I received an email offer of restart your membership now and only pay "$29.99 per month!" I told him I also got an email for my mom too. If you think about it logically, the email offer makes more sense but he did not want to offer the email deal and made it very clear to us he was annoyed - probably because he wasn't making the sale. Anyways on to the serious topic - a "personal trainer" (yeah you wish) came up to my mom and I for a free assessment personal training. I agreed since I heard "free" and who doesn't love free things? Later, he tried to sell a personal training program to us. I said we didn't need it and he insisted that I needed to get back in shape. He somehow signed us up for a year program when we thought it was a month to month. I contacted the corporate office to only find out they're also untrustworthy, lazy and unhelpful. so as of right now, we're going through the legal way to figure this out. Please know that LA Fitness doesn't care about your health and needs. As I reviewed bunch of horrible LA Fitness stories like mine- this place doesn't care about your health, they just want your $$. I loved the one in Parsipanny and was thrilled when this location opened but holy crap is it bad. Don't leave anything in your locker. Don't expect friendly people. It's kind of clean but overall a nightmare to get in a workout. Someone always parked on the gear talking or texting. Just another sad gym that should be great but isn't. read more
