BRS is over achieving!…read more Get the resume and the cover letter. Money well spent. Reputation I was recommended by a friend who holds a high position at FB, who was recommended by his friend who holds a high ranking position at Google. Customer Service After submitting a short questionnaire I was contacted via email immediately by Annabel who answered all of my questions in a timely manner. Resume Writing I worked with David who was open, gracious and a great listener. He has worked in many facets of talent management so he knows what to highlight, how to write it and what approach to take. Despite having achieved quite a bit, I was unsure how to translate the value I bring on a resume in a way that connects with hiring managers. I spoke with David for 1 hour. He asked great questions. He heard me and CRAFTED a beautiful resume and cover letter. 24 hours after updating my LinkedIn I received an email from a recruiter. Im the most prepared and empowered for my job search than I ever have been.

So this review might be late, but I do feel that my experience can be a cautionary tale to those who are seeking help during a time of desperation. I reached out to Dana in Sept 2019. She made me feel like this would be a great investment. I filled out their questionnaire for the resume + cover letter + LinkedIn package, and paid $750ish. I asked to not be matched with Allison (no real reason, just a gut feeling.) Against my wishes, I was matched with Allison. I decided to give her a shot. (Big mistake! Always trust your gut!) We scheduled a call, she basically talked out of her ass by talking herself up, being vague, and saying things we already know about the computer systems sorting through our resumes. I gave her ALLLL of my information and she said she would send me the first draft within a week. A week later, no resume. No response to emails or phone calls. Two weeks later, I finally get my first draft with spelling errors AND information errors. In her email, she claimed she sent it a week prior and doesn't know why I didn't receive it. I told her all the corrections she needed to make. She said she would have it back to me in a week. A few weeks later, I finally got it back. It came back with just as many, but different errors. I ended up moving forward to the cover letter, and making my own corrections to my resume on my own because I was getting annoyed with her lack of proofreading, time management, and communication. I had the same issues with the cover letter and decided I was done. After 2 months of this, I did NOT want to continue to a LinkedIn update with her, even though I paid for it. She never reached back out to finish the job. She just disappeared. I was so pissed off by this experience, I just wanted to wash my hands clean from this and accept that I wasted $750+ on this. I decided to finally share this now because I'm back to looking for a new job and fixing up my resume, etc. and I hope my experience helps you invest in yourself, and turn to Google/YouTube searches instead of getting screwed over like I did.

When I found Write By Night, I was desperate for some help with what I knew to be a worthy memoir…read more No one understood what I was attempting to do. I was not writing a book of poems. I was writing a memoir in verse because I cannot totally describe every detail of my surroundings from birth to 14 years in an abusive religious cult. Telling a story in verse allows me to tell the truth of it. I did not want to create filler lines to present a book written in traditional prose. I submitted 300 pages of an unfinished manuscript to Write By Night in June of 2019. They paired me up with an award winning poet, John Sibley Williams and over the next year an a half, while working full time as a Registered Nurse, wife, mother, grandmother, on call healer to a family of over 300, disrupted schedules and work expectations during the COVID pandemic, he helped me streamline that manuscript. He let me know when I lost him in vague thoughts, reined me in when I got too wordy, tried to write the story the way I want people to understand, helped me see that all I needed to do was tell my story and let my readers figure out the rest. He never missed a scheduled appointment. We met on Skype and Zoom. He critiqued what I submitted in writing and constantly encouraged me to continue. I almost gave up during the COVID crisis. John gently reminded me of the impact written words had on my life and how they pulled me from near loss of reason as a child. Finally, using Write By Night and John Sibley Williams, to research potential publishers and create a package of letters to submit to them, my lack of knowledge, did not become a hindrance to my publishing efforts. I submitted to 23 publishers on 12/23/20 and I was picked up by Adelaide Books by 01/14/21. My book, "The Serpent's Tail, will be released in January of 2022. I am humbled and grateful for this. I was able to do it with the professional, friendly, and super informed efforts of Write By Night and John Sibley Williams. Because of them I can say this....... Thank You! Deb Thibodeau, Author!

After working with my coach, Marie Curran, for several months, we came to the conclusion that despite having 50 pages done, I needed to start over. I could have given up at the moment, but having Marie on my side kept me positive and motivated. I'm well into my second rewrite, and I'm so grateful for Marie's astute insights and expertise. Each comment has helped pull the story out of me and made my writing better. She will be front and center on my "Special Thank You" page! I also appreciate WriteByNight's protocols and pricing. I feel that David is genuinely dedicated to supporting writers.
