I was greeted by Doug, who makes you feel at home with a very calm and positive vibe. He then introduced me to Pablo, the star of the show. Did I say star? Rockstar is more like it. When Pablo says deep tissue, he means it. At times it felt like I had two guys working on me. He uses his thighs, knees and shin at the same time as his hands, forearms and upper arm. I don't know how he does it so flawlessly - he's like an octopus! He treated the problem areas I mentioned while connecting the work with the rest of my body. You can visualize how he makes the muscle progression. He is incredibly effective. I STRONGLY recommend Blu Day Spa and Pablo in particular if you are serious about recovery - whether it's a "formal" injury or you are just sore from everyday soreness. I booked the massages with the owner, Jason, months in advance. I requested sports massages, with the option of changing to deep tissue massage if necessary. As soon as we walked in for the appointment, Jason greeted us by asking how the bike ride went. Nice touch! (Pun intended.) I opted to go with Jason as my massage therapist, and my husband received his massage from Su. We were both very happy with the massages we received at the hands of the MTs at Center for Therapeutic Massage! I didn't feel the need for a deep tissue massage, but asked for a medium pressure massage to work out any muscle sores after having spent hours on my bike. Jason knew exactly which muscle groups to focus on. He applied just the right amount of pressure and spent the right amount of time on each of the problem areas. At the end of the massage, he gave the best facial massage ever - I think I dozed off! I left the Center feeling fully revitalized and ready to go!! I showed up to my appointment and asked for a natural bushy brow, she waxed one side of my face nearly clean off. I have 90's style brows now, I grew my brows out for a month before I came in, and now I'm back to square one or less actually.... Very disappointed. I even spoke up about it not being anything like I asked and still paid $30 because the tech was being very defiant and wouldn't apologize.
