I found this spa through Groupon and booked a couple's massage for my partner's birthday. When I initially called to confirm the booking (since I hadn't selected a specific date on Groupon), there seemed to be some confusion about how the Groupon reservation worked. We did end up getting a time on the calendar over the phone. However, on the day of our appointment when we arrived, we were told after going back and forth in person that we didn't actually have anything scheduled. We then had to reschedule on the spot for about an hour and a half later based on their availability, so we left and came back at the new time. When we arrived again, we had the wait for about 20 minutes. The couple's massage setup was not what we expected--we were placed in separate spaces with a curtain between us, whereas in past experiences at other spas, couples massages have always been in the same room. The Groupon also listed four add-ons, but we only received two during the service. The front desk explained that we would receive those add-ons. During the massage, I noticed that she only did two of the add-ons. We didn't argue and just finished the appointment as scheduled. Unfortunately, the massage itself was disappointing for both of us. My massage therapist seemed to focus more on areas that weren't tense and applied pressure in a way that felt more on bone than muscle. I left with soreness rather than relief, and I also developed headaches afterward, which is not typical for me after a massage. My partner also shared that his massage did not feel properly targeted or effective. Another concern was that my massage therapist appeared to be unwell during the session, coughing and heavily breathing throughout. At one point, she had to step out briefly. Shortly after returning home, I began feeling sick with a fever and have been unwell for about a week since.
