He didn't even touch the water heater. Never pushed the igniter. Never bent down to look and see if it was lit. NOTHING. He just said I needed a new one. I told him I had tried relighting it and he said it was so old (2002) that he could order some parts and try and fix it but it would run 3 or 4 hundred dollars. I replied that for that much, I should just get a new one. I asked for a quote and he quoted me $1295. I know nothing about this kind of stuff so I was freaking out. No hot water and no way I could afford $1300! My boyfriend called his uncle who is a handyman to come over that night and he fixed the entire problem in less than an hour with a $17 part from Lowes. I was incredibly relieved. Pass on this plumbing company, especially if you are a female...apparently we are not even worth pretending to help.

Our hot water heater, located in the garage, started to leak early Saturday morning on Labor Day Weekend! Valentine of Valice Plumbing responded immediately and diagnosed the need for a new water heater. The original water heater was installed when the house was built in 2004. It served this house well for 22 years. The average lifespan of a tank water heater is 18-20 years. Valentine helped us explore our options: replacing with a similar 50 gallon tank water heater or a new tankless system. We were favoring switching to a tankless system. But with the added costs of a new and larger gas line from our meter required by the State and City building codes due to the BTUs for the entire home as well as the anticipated installation costs, the investment into a tankless system would not be recovered for at least 7.5 years. We decided to install a State 50 gallon water heater (see photos). The installation was completed in the morning the day after Labor Day. I was impressed with their cleanliness and professionalism. However, I will say George is very friendly and has great customer service so I'm not for sure if I could give the kind of review that I really want to because he helped me allot while having to be under the owner of the apartments strict guidelines! The owner of the apartments are extremely cheap so I'm not for sure if the job that this company did was due to contract they had with the owner of the apartments. I will say that George went a little above and beyond for me and I appreciate him, but the overall job of what took place in my apartment took a very long time and it was a job that I believe could have been broken up in days rather than a job that took almost 12 hours to complete and I still had to have maintenance come over to complete the job that they left un repaired! For example, the bathtub that I got was beautiful, but they didn't caulk or a cover-up some of the areas after they installed it so when the maintenance came over, I was told that this company told them that they didn't have to seal up the opening that is left and that they were only going to cover up the holes that were left where bugs could come through after this company finish the drywall near the bathtub! So other words, I have a beautiful bathtub, but it's not properly sealed, and there is an area where there is a space between the floor that wasn't initially there so it looks like when I were to mop the floor water could spill down in between the space area that was left un repaired! When the owner of this company showed up, he seemed to have an attitude and his service wasn't really friendly at all! His name is Art and he seemed to rush George and I believe that that was part of the reason why the job wasn't completed in my opinion or thoroughly explained to me when they left as to why they left it that way I had to call maintenance who I didn't want to deal with again in the first place to come over and that was a long drawn out or deal so it's hard to say with this company. I personally wouldn't give them another try but because George and his son were very kind and it seemed good at what they did they make this company worthwhile! There were debris left that wasn't cleaned up and some areas of my apartment as well as outside of my apartment and after so long of dealing with these horrible apartment owners and maintenance. It sucks to have to go through vendors that aren't as professional or organized as you assume that they would be.!

Unlike the previous contractors--one assigned by SLWA and another highly rated local company--Mr. Ed's team took the time to thoroughly investigate rather than guessing or rushing through the job. (Please note, Mr. Ed's was also assigned by SLWA after a continued issue) Adrian from Mr. Ed's was professional, patient, and methodical. Even when their sonar equipment couldn't pinpoint the tiny leak, he recommended a careful exploratory dig instead of making assumptions. During the exploratory dig, both Adrian and Ed (business owner) personally inspected every possible source, including indoor lines and the garage slab, and ultimately identified a combination of a very small leak, a branching pipe, and a faulty valve. I want to highlight that Ed and Adrian are exceptionally knowledgeable, and their extensive experience in the industry is evident. They were able to provide solutions and recommendations that other companies could not. Throughout the process, the office staff was respectful and helpful, especially as we navigated SLWA delays. When it came time for repairs--ultimately out‑of‑pocket--we chose to proceed with Mr. Ed's because of their thoroughness and integrity. Ed and his team completed the work efficiently, cleaned up the site beautifully, and even fixed our sewer cover. The leak is fully resolved, and the sprinkler and main line are now properly isolated.
