THIS SELLER IS A WELCH! She goes back on verbal agreements and can not be trusted. Very argumentive and extremely rude. I recommend you DO NOT buy from her or use her services. She does not belong in this business of dealing with people whatsoever. For example, we verbally agreed on a dollar amount for a bulk buy and afterward she began to pull items of value that were included in our agreement and saying "this is not part of our deal". I cannot recommend against this business enough. I feel strongly that Olga did not behave in our best interests when it came to the sale of items in my home. For starters, I watched her and her husband take things (small things, but still . . .) from my home before the sale even started. She said she'd pay for them, but did she? I have no reason to believe they ever paid for those items. Certainly she never told me what she thought was a fair price -- especially odd, considering that she was going to keep 40% of that price for herself as her commission! A highly desirable item was marked sold minutes after the sale started - and went home with her daughter. Was the item priced fairly? I have no way of knowing. Did they even pay for it? Again, no way to know. I did not expect an accounting of every five dollar item that sold in the house, but I did expect an accounting for the larger ticket items -- say things that were priced at $100.00 or more. That didn't happen. There was NO accounting for anything that sold. Olga, her husband, and her daughter handled all the money and never accounted for any of the items. That was my fault, for not making sure that that I would get a list of what sold and for how much, but I think a reputable and honest seller would've provided that kind of accounting on her own. The finally tally was far lower than I expected, I can say that for certain. The second day of the sale, friends of hers came to look, which was fine. But then they parked themselves in my living room for hours and didn't leave. I am pretty sure that other buyers would've been put off by the sight of this tight group having themselves a little coffee klatch and may not have looked at the items for sale in that room as a result. I had a few items I really needed to sell. I told Olga I wanted them gone, no matter how low the price. Despite that, she refused to make a deal with a seller that was willing to pay for one of those items at the end of the last day. I ultimately had to give the item away. I also witnessed her quote a price for several items to a potential buyer and deny she'd quoted that price just a few minutes later. She yelled at the potential buyer, putting her in tears when it was Olga herself that was lying. On another note, Olga and her husband, as well as her daughter, repeatedly tried to give me advice on what to do about selling my house. One of the aforesaid friends from the living room group cornered me and badgered me about my religious beliefs. It was insane. I should have done far more research before I hired this company. She overestimated and over promised the circulation of her social media accounts and the foot traffic to her sales. Olga sold us this beautiful chairs and table in which we reupholstered and refurbished as a 6 chair dinning set . We always look for her big orange signs when we're out locally on early Saturday mornings ! As my boyfriend and I are both teachers, Olga has been very fair in pricing items as we understand the grief of the family when dealing with liquidating an entire house, but have found so many gems we've repurposed- that shopping in the store would of broke our piggy banks. We've gone in on Fridays to entire houses packed and returned Saturday for 1/2 price and the house being empty. If there's one thing Olga and her family are good at is making deals with their customers and keeping all parties involved happy !!! I'm a buyer not a reseller, i've been to estate sales and this company isn't great. I knew there was a reason why I didn't want to go back to an olga sale, now I remember. First off, you need to go on the day before to get a number tag, I got there 8:30am for a 9am sale and was in the 40's already. After an hour of waiting they ran out of tags and people signs a board. From there it was like 1 person in and 1 person out. Everything was marked with a price which is good. But not everything. The small things weren't and those things were pretty much retail. A small plug you use to fix an extension cord, new, $3.00, each, which is brand new pricing. A nintendo and some games, I think she said was like $600 in ebay, which we know is a bidding war of crazy people, and could have been her account, there at that sale was like $500? You don't even know if it works. When I price things out for an estate sale, I usually double the amount of what it would be at a garage sale, so my box in my head would have been around $40, which would be a lot, when I got up there, $80. Basically on day one everything is double the price you think it should be. Then the next day at like 1pm, and I don't know if they have waiting for that too, everything is 50% off, but off of double, making it basically normal overpriced stuff. I didn't get any rudeness for her, and she added things up in a weird way, where one thing was $15, but if I got other things it was $10, but if it was less stuff it would cost more. One guy spent like $75 and got a lot of stuff, mine had a lot of small things but listed at retail pricing. I mean a handful of hex drill bits shouldn't be $15 used. In my head that was no more than $5 at estate sale prices. Her kids seemed nice, they had no problem putting all that stuff I hauled upstairs back. But did take it away too fast when I couldn't decide if I wanted something or not. In the end people streamed out of the sale with an expression on their face as if they were robbed. Laughing at how high the prices were. Because if you bought them to resell, you would have to charge above new pricing and you can't. I also found the lighting to be poor, but I think that's all houses. Its like someone steals all the lights or something. Would I go back? No. I would really, really want to need something. Their games very expensive, the tools a little better, but more expensive than say a flea market, the hand planes, like $80 for a 12" plane? Seems like a bit much. I can't think of a better estate sale company than Estate sales by Olga .I frequently go to estate sales all over and find that her prices are very fair . I always find myself buying more from her sales than any other estate sale company. I'm a frequent estate sale goer and I'm very disappointed when I see this company is hosting a sale...because that's one less sale I'll be going to. Their prices are astronomical! They are completely made up. In fact, in most cases you could buy the same item in better condition online for less money. I recall them having a $10 price tag on a cracked salt and pepper shaker set. Every single tiny item is priced individually. It doesn't seem this company has any interest in clearing houses since most people run away from their insane prices. The owner is unfortunately not very kind as well. I often hear her scolding people for moving items around and talking down to people in general. Ripping people off is bad enough but that type of behavior draws the line for me. Wow! I went to a sale on the second day and as I approached the house was a bit dismayed to see people leaving empty handed or with a few books and VHS tapes, and another with a few used bottles of windex, fantastic and some bathroom cleaning spray foam. I thought that there wasn't much left but was I wrong! The home was filled to the brim with items and I soon found out why. I can understand wanting to help a family out with an estate sale and trying to get top dollar but to charge above and beyond fair ( the items that I was interested in were still 60% higher and that's after giving me $20 off) what a used item in good condition normally sells for is ridiculous! No prices on anything and when you ask they tell you 50 dollars but you can have it for 40...400 dollars but I'll let you have it for 350..When trying to negotiate for a fairer price, show them on your phone what several of that same item is selling for and offering them the same price ,they won't entertain it but just counter with reiteration a of the price they told you the first time. I ended up with a used roll of packing tape that I just put back as I couldn't be bothered anymore. Accusing Neg Reviews of being fake is ridiculous, they can't all be fake but they all have a common complaint . All I know is that I made a memo in my smartphone of this estate seller so if I see any listing for estate sales by them I won't waste my time driving there and go to a different one instead. UPDATE: Well it seems that now Olga doesn't post her company's name on Estate sales listings anymore, I wonder why? Went to an estate sale in Clark and as I pulled up noticed that a lot of people are walking out with nothing..sure enough when I walk in Estate sales by Olga cards on the desk and now price tags $$$...same ridiculously high prices, didn't explore past the entry hallway just turned around and left. One woman walking out showed me a used 2 qt. Went to a sale in Manville Nj and was very disappointed and disgusted. The house was a BIG mess,everything was all over the place,very little organization,few prices except for big ticket items of course,prices for junk were ridiculous,shall I go on..... BTW...I am seasoned in all this estate,yard sale stuff!!!!!Am older and have been to more then my share.This was the worst!!! Save your money! This company is a joke. Out of their minds in prices ( she likes to make them up in her head ) even on the last day in the final hours she wants double what you will find online. I hear she has her own shop/ auction house, so my interpretation is she wants to take all the leftover items off the homeowner at pennies on the dollar and sell them herself if she can't screw you at the estate sale. This is not a review of the entire crew bc some of the workers are friendly and reasonable. But she is an unpleasant, rude, loud and abrasive woman who has lost lots of sales and failed to move merchandise that needed to be sold for her clients simply because she holds onto prices without flexibility and she doesn't understand the business or know what things go for on line. I know for a fact she lied to my face about an item listed for 1k, no one made any offers, her associate told me point blank that the seller would be ok with 1/2 and she lied and told me she had rejected a 50 percent offer, so I walked bc I cannot stand liars. If she were handling my sale I'd be unhappy to see old items that I wanted gone still sitting there after the sale was over. She's a caustic and arrogant woman and none of the associates can make a move or accept an offer unless she clears it- so there you go. I now skip her sales and I know others do too. Try two sisters. For anyone who considers complaining, think about this... Usually the sales are commissioned for families who've recently lost a loved one. If you've ever run your own estate sale, you know what it's like to deal with people coming into your home, wanting an item for next to nothing, are rude, who steal valuables from you and complain. All of this happens to us when we coordinate our own estate sale. It's a difficult situation to organize and sell the things all while trying to please everyone. From the sales I've attended, I've notice she tries her best to work for the owner of the estate as well as the customer. I know from my own experience of running the estate of my Mom how hard and how much work goes into running a sale and wish I knew Olga at the time. It would've saved me time and frustration. Apparently prices the items based on the highest possible found on ebay - but what you pay on ebay for an item in good working condition (with the seller standing behind it, which ebay enforces) you will pay the same or more to Olga for an item that is beat up, broken or missing parts, with an unapologetic 'all sales final' policy. read more
