When my mother passed I had no idea what to do with her jewelry. Ms Kabot - Carol - was extremely knowledgeable and honest in how she answered my questions. She understood the fine jewelry market and guided me on what pieces I should sell and what I should keep. I was especially touched that the person who was going to refine the gold refused my mother's wedding ring and insisted I keep it. Carol agreed with them and I am very thankful that part of their business model seems to be the acknowledgement that they were looking out for my emotional well-being as they put price tags on things that I care deeply about. I left the experience feeling positive about something that was very painful to me. And they were right. I always teased my mom I was going to make Christmas ornaments out of her jewelry. This year her wedding ring hung on the top of my Tree, on a little gold hook, and every time it sparkled at me I smiled and thought of my mom and how she would like that she was part of our Christmas. They worked for us long before the sale started, they did their research and knew what would sell in Crescent City and what would not. They worked long hours and gave us a detailed understanding about how our 3 day sale would go and that they would donate the remaining things. They also extended our sale to the following weekend because we had so much stuff. They were very trust worthy and they really took care of everything! We came in form out of town, so we were at the house during the entire sale, something estate sales people unusually discourage because this is a very personal emotionally taxing experience, they were kind and respectful. We needed someone to load the dumpsters and pretty much clean and prepare the house for the new owners, they stayed in town to do it. Yes we paid them to haul our trash, clean the house, and fix a few things, but it was outside of their contract and they took the time and made it work for us.
