The Club at Oak Creek attempts to brand itself as "luxury apartments" without explicitly saying it…read more The pictures on the website look good, the Google street view seems nice. The thing which separates The Club at Oak Creek from luxury apartments is their lack of attention to detail. When I arrived, my apartment smelled of smoke, there was a glade plug-in in the wall to mask the smell. The carpet in the living room was stained. The tiles in the bathroom and kitchen were cracked. The balcony was filthy, not to mention some of the balconies don't have any support beams (mine does)! Perhaps I was unlucky, but it would seem that the apartments themselves are overpriced. If you plan to use the pool or weight room regularly, both of which are fairly small, I think the price can be justified. Plus they accommodate dogs, and I like dogs. 1 star deduction for the lack of attention to detail. 1 star deduction because it's overpriced.

Do not move here! There have been two separate incidents…read morewhere maintenance tried to enter my apartment without informing me in advance. The first time, I didn't open the door, so the guy eventually left. The second time, I again didn't open the door, but they actually used a key to unlock and open my apartment door. Thank God I had a lock on the inside to prevent them from coming in. I shouted at them from inside, and they left. I immediately texted the apartment office about the incident, and they apologized, saying the maintenance guy had the wrong apartment. Like WTF? That is so unsafe and weird. Not to mention, when we submitted a request to move out with one month & 1/2 left on our lease, they rejected it and claimed we were "required" to give a 60 day notice. However, the lease never stated that a 60 day notice was required, it was only recommended. The moment I pointed that out, suddenly it was okay for us to move out. Then after we moved out, we cleaned the entire apartment as a basic common courtesy. I also recorded the apartment afterward just in case they tried to mess with our security deposit and of course they did. They charged us for a "missing" smoke detector, even though I have video proof showing that it was not missing. I texted them about it and got ignored. I texted again the next day, and they finally responded, telling me to email my proof to an email address they provided and that they would "make sure to assist me." BULLSHIT. I emailed them the video proof and received absolutely no response for a week and a half. I contacted them again, only to be ignored once more. I almost never leave reviews, even when I have bad experiences. I usually just let things go. But since they want to ignore me and cheat me out of my security deposit, I have no choice but to leave this review about my horrible experience as a tenant here. You guys are purposely ignoring me because you guys are in the wrong. They are money-hungry and weird. 0/10. Do not recommend. Spend your money elsewhere.

Apartments look nice but management is incredibly shady…read more $20 credit check fee before you even apply to move in. $25 late fee each day your rent isn't turned in after the 1st. extra $250 security deposit for a pet extra $25 per month in rent for EACH pet (you're only allowed 2) If you want to switch apartments and have somebody ready to move in to your current apartment, you will have to pay them rent for every day it takes them to clean the apartment (typically 2 weeks). They boast how every room has a ceiling fan and emergency maintenance, but they don't give you the phone number for emergency maintenance (my clothes were soaked in a washer for 2 hours before anything happened), and the ceiling fan is way to the edge of one room and incredibly small. If you want to switch apartments you have to tell them a month before the 1st of the next month (if you wanted to move May 1st you have to tell them by April 1st, April 2nd is unacceptable, even if you find someone to take your current apartment) They do whatever they can to not inform you about fees you wouldn't know about if you weren't well versed in leases or legal terms, and will say whatever they can to make you happy then go back on it later saying "thats against the lease i didn't say that, we can't make money". Discretion is incredibly low, and security deposits take way too long to come back to you. Even if you get a first month of free rent, it's not nearly worth it. Even Katz Properties known with a terrible reputation, lets people change who is on the lease, not these guys, you are locked in and have to pay for your apartment until someone moves in (a minimum of 2 weeks).
