I'm hoping they don't try and keep our money that would be really unethical yet without any response or vague answers it looks like we might have been unfairly treated. We recently had a consultation with this firm to discuss legal representation. Our case has some non-standard needs, which we were very upfront about. We purposely had a 2nd call to confirm we communicated what we needed before we retained them. We agreed to pay $15,000 retainer in 2 payments. after being told they could handle our situation, with the understanding that they needed to review our existing documents first to confirm. We waited for feedback, but with a critical hearing approaching, we had to push for a follow-up meeting. In the meeting, it became clear that they were still on on boarding so as discussed need the staff to bring this matter to appropriate staff. They didn't respond after we were attament. We consulted with the attorneys and I was clear a review of our documents had been analyzed. It also became clear our concerns confirmed with a review of current circumstance were not a good fit for our specific needs. While this is understandable, the entire process felt like a waste of precious time. We promptly requested a refund of our remaining retainer balance of $7,500. Unfortunately, the firm has been incredibly slow to process this. Their team and attorney seem capable, but their focus on collecting money quickly stands in stark contrast to their sluggishness in returning it. When you're in a tough financial spot, waiting for a refund that you desperately need is an added burden. It feels like they're quick to take your money and slow to give it back. The lack of mutual respect is missing when you ask or require of someone yet are not willing to extend the same in return. It's a huge red flag and is a good indication on how they would handle the legal issues. I believe that the focus is driven on the needs of this law firm and not the needs of thier clients. The worst law firm ever. On a scale of 0 to 100. ZERO. Horrible. They are more about billing for incompetents'. They submitted my lawsuit which was not properly completed. The defense attorney tore there complaint up. The judge gave them a second attempt to revise and they submitted the same complaint just amended the wording. It was dismissed by the court. Once again, i failed to look at the reviews before hiring someone. When they scheduled a time for the initial consultation, the time was for an hour earlier than they had on their schedule (we are in the same time zone). When they asked if the time would still work, I wish we took the sign and said NO. We met with Jason and a couple of others from his office and he said that our case would be something that he could win. We explained that we were on a budget and just wanted him to file the claim for us so that it had a law firm behind it. However, he went overboard and charged well over the amount I could have imagined. When I expressed that we were on a tight budget again and asked how much more it would be, we never received a response. We also never saw a credit for one of the staff to resend the letters that they did not attach the documents correctly. I asked several times. We sold our car to pay the retainer, we could not afford the vet bill when our elder dog needed emergency care and I was on unemployment after losing my job. They billed us half of my EDD income each week. I asked if we could finally go to the contingent model as he said we don't normally do it but we can win the case I know the CEO. And he said that he did not want to move to a contingent model until after the claim was addressed one way or another because if they awarded us the amount requested, it would make him a bad lawyer to take a third of the money as he had not done that much work yet. Do not waste a dime of your money with this poor excuse for an attorney. He talks a lot about how great he is and never delivers what he promises. Doesn't he realize he can't be great when 50% of his yelp reviews are one star ratings and it's the same consistent issues in all of his bad reviews. He's either lying or not too bright. He makes up stories why he never completes the case so he can continue to bill for more work. He has the women in the office make up stories for him as reasons why the case is never completed so bills continue to add up. Not very brave hiding behind the women in the office. Hired these guys and spent a lot of money. After they told me they were most likely going to lose the lawsuit unless I paid a lot of cash to them up front, after already spending over $140,000. So I walked and went to look for other attorneys in the middle of the lawsuit. They had raised my hourly rates and billed for so much but not much was done. Once I took over my case, they stalled for 10 days, copying my files but converting all of the workable word files into frozen pdf images. I found out all of the sloppy work they did, and the errors even in the original complaint they never bothered to fix. Found out when they tried to consolidate my eviction and foreclosure cases, I lost because judge posted a tentative rulilng, and Jason didnt bother to even show up or contest it. Lost that part too. Then the errors in the first complaint, cut and paste kenneth J.'s litigation papers into my complaint, but didn't bother to change the name to me, and mentioning other foreclsoure defendant investors, who had nothing to do at all in my lawsuit. Numerous sanctions that I am sure I paid for, and the unprofessional , sad, unethical slackers. When I was all the sudden facing eviction again, I found out that these guys made several mistakes in the "answer" to the Unlawful detainer, and called and told them it was important they corrected their mistake because it was being used against me to justify the eviction, no returned page to him, no return voice mail, no return office message, just ignored me when I aksed him just to fix his own huge errors. Laugh, but the jokes on these guys. I will not be letting it slide and plan to file complaints with the bars, tell every lawyer I talk to not to refer them business, and will continue to spread the word as I consider filing a legal malpractice suit. Everythingto win was in trhe boxes they gave back to me, they just never bothered to look at what they received. Dishonest with unprofessional support staff! DO NOT GIVE YOUR MONEY AWAY!!! Jason presented self as an honest and efficient attorney when I contacted him regarding pending auction of my house. I explained that having my ex-fiancé quitclaim his rights was going to be our biggest challenge in getting a loan modification in my attempts to save my home. He asked me for $7000 retainer fee and $2000 monthly payment. Despite considering this expensive, I trusted him and retained him. He stated that he would do everything to keep me in my home. Close to $16,000 later, all he has accomplished is POSTPONE auctions. He shamelessly charges me to tell me what I already knew, " lender needs a quitclaim deed from your ex for you to apply for a loan mod " NO $#!". Then he tells "your ex won't sign". Again, "NO $#!" Then he has the nerve to remind me to make my monthly payment. He was simply dragging the case to charge me before reaching the max # of times you can postpone an auction. When I had questions, he used legal jargon and was sarcastic in response to my request for further clarification. His assistant was rude and never had answers to anything.
