He should have his license revoked. The instructor was unable to answer basic questions and got mad when I asked any questions. Calling the school is a nightmare, they are always on the other line, they say they're gonna call back but don't. They also said that they were gonna charge me a certain amount for the first class and another amount for the second one but that it would add up to what they said. I got this first lesson and then I hear nothing for the second lesson. I was basically robbed, don't even bother with this business. After I called the person couldn't take any responsibility for the bad business they do and who they send to drive with you.

The two hour driving lesson was spent with my child driving - that's what I paid for! 3) The lessons have been challenging. I can do the easy stuff with my child; I want the two hour lesson to bring her to the next level. Shelley had her practice what she would need to know for the test and also what she would need to know for real driving (freeway lane changes, merging, narrow mountain road, etc.). 4) I also liked that I paid per lesson and didn't get hooked into three lessons from the beginning. Yes. we will do all three lessons with Shelley, but if the first lesson hadn't gone well then we didn't have any commitment. 5) My daughter's review "Ms. Shelley is a hoot. No really, she's a good teacher." Before the first lesson, my daughter was very scared. She even asked if she could cancel it. Shelley put her in the driver seat quickly, so she didn't have time to increase her anxiety. Shelley stayed calm and gave her confidence pointing out how well she was doing. And like I said, Shelley made it challenging (from Danville drove South Gate to North Gate roads then down Ygnacio through Walnut Creek) so that no matter where I took her during our practice in between lessons I could just refer back to her lesson and say this isn't as hard as what you did on your lesson.

The difference with William was night and day. A friend recommended William when our second child was ready to learn, and I am so grateful they did. He takes time before and after each lesson to explain techniques, review what was practiced, and clearly outline what to work on next. He truly prepares students for the driving test, including sharing specific insights into what test administrators are looking for. Because of his thoroughness and thoughtful approach, I feel completely confident recommending William--even to my most selective friends. Here are his strengths and weaknesses: Strengths: Very knowledgeable and friendly. Good car. Explains concepts clearly and knows the routes the DMV uses. Weaknesses: Is easily excitable, which is a dangerous trait to have as a driving instructor. Make a mistake and Bill will get nervous, raise his voice, and start repeating himself. This will get you more nervous, and decrease your confidence and focus. Understandable perhaps for big mistakes, but it occurs with minor mistakes too. This bothered my wife so much she did not want a second lesson. I decided to give Bill another shot, but on the second lesson he got so insufferable I had to pull over and ask him to calm down.
