My concerns are specifically related to Funeral Director/Location Manager Kay Waites. Amanda and Debbie, however, were both wonderful to work with. During my mother's arrangements in early February, there were repeated documentation errors throughout the process. My address and my mother's address were entered incorrectly multiple times and even combined together in some documents (for example, my street number with her street name and vice versa). My grandmother's name was also used in place of my mother's name on multiple occasions. The document links had to be resent approximately nine times over several days because I repeatedly had to point out errors that still had not been fully corrected throughout the documents. In some cases, one section would be fixed while the same incorrect information remained elsewhere in the same paperwork. When I arrived to pick up my mother's ashes, the signage still displayed my grandmother's first name. I also picked up the death certificates at that time, only to later realize the address was still incorrect and required a state amendment and additional waiting period to correct. Due to the volume of errors, I became concerned enough during the process that I directly asked for confirmation that my mother's remains were being handled correctly. During the process, Kay told me she was "juggling 20 families at once" and agreed when I expressed concern that this seemed like too much for one person to properly manage. On April 6, I contacted Area Manager Duane to formally document these concerns. Although he initially acknowledged my email and stated he would investigate, I never received any follow-up despite multiple follow-ups and more than a month of additional time. I have retained emails, text messages, photographs, and documentation supporting the concerns outlined above and am happy to provide them if necessary. Because I never received any follow-up from management despite multiple attempts to address these concerns, I was ultimately left without any reassurance that these issues were taken seriously or addressed internally, and I felt the need to warn others about my experience. I have since heard from multiple reliable sources that similar issues had occurred previously, which makes this experience even more concerning. This was already one of the hardest periods of my life, and having to repeatedly correct legal documents and identity information during my mother's arrangements added an unnecessary layer of stress that no family should have to experience again.

Wow! We had been told this was known as the "Arlington of the South" and were driving past on our…read moreway to somewhere else when we saw the entrance. I actually pulled a U turn. So glad we chose to stop and take some time out of our day to consider the meaning of this important venue. We don't have immediate family buried here but we felt connected to everyone when we departed. My husband and I were both moved to tears reading the quotes and inscriptions from and about veterans who served their country. Besides the quotes, there are multiple displays with photos and captions that tell the story of war. We hope that young people will be encouraged to visit this site to read about the lives of veterans and the deep impacts that their past service has had. Our veterans maintain and uphold the freedoms we enjoy because they chose (and still choose) to step up to defend those freedoms. The folks who put this venue together got it right. Thank you for reminding us of the sacrifices our service members and their families made (and continue to make) on our behalf. I am recommending to everyone that they visit this amazing site. Just be respectful and keep things quiet to honor the brave souls interred here as well as their families. They earned our respect.

My brother's arrangements were mis-handled from the very beginning. During the pre-need arrangement appointment we were promised things that did not materialize. We were told the body would be picked up promptly and be in the care of Baldwin Brothers the entire time. Neither were true in our case. The body was left in the hospital for well over a day and a third party company, not Baldwin Brothers was used to pick up the body at the hospital. We were told repeatedly he would be in the care of Baldwin from start to finish. Using a third-party company, Suncoast Transport is not in the hands of Baldwin Brothers. We were given repeated excuses why the body was not picked up or why the identification of the body would cost an additional $300. Even excuses as to why the phone at the office was not answered for over a day, why the obituary on the Baldwin website was not posted as promised or why the death certificate could not be issued. Even excuses as to why the cremation permit would be delayed thus a delay in the cremation and our getting his ashes to do his inurnment at the cemetery. We got to see the body three days after death. He was warm even though Florida law requires refrigeration after 24 hours. His limbs were limp and bottom of his hands and fingers were black. We have pictures. This after only three days. I believe if he were under refrigeration we would not have had to experience the look and smell of my brother's remains. Please don't do this to your loved one. Go to a professional that will treat you and your family with the respect that you each deserve. RUN, DON'T WALK AWAY FROM BALDWIN BROTHERS IN BRADENTON FLORIDA. We intend to make our case known to several industry oversight organizations in Florida. I was told that the cemetery would call to set up the burial so that the family could be there when our loved one was laid to rest. Instead I received in the mail a packet with the section and grave number where he was already buried. It was devastating for the entire family. We all felt that we didn't have the closure we needed.
