After deboarding the plane from London, I had to retrieve my luggage from the baggage claim area,…read morewhich was very easy to locate... just follow the signage. There were plenty of various restaurants, working areas and seating areas. The restrooms were very clean. After claiming the luggage, follow the signs to customs. Going through customs was to bad..... the signs will direct you which line to go to. Approximately, 15 minutes later, I was at the custom gate. After answering a few questions, I was on my way. Instead of taking a train, I decided to take an Uber to the hotel. Just follow the signs for the car sharing, taxi and bus area. By the time I got to the designated location, the car was with a few minutes. I didn't find this airport to be very difficult.

Arriving in Brussels, my flight parked at the farthest gate in the Brussels airport and I had a…read morehike to get to border control. The line took almost one hour at 9am on a weekday. Unlike in Germany, it appeared that Brussels had not yet implemented the new customs system at arrivals so non EU citizens queued in one line. EU citizens zipped through with the electronic pass gates. However when it was my turn with the agent I only had to scan the fingers on my right hand, answered a question what do I do for a living and that was it. Less than a couple minutes surprisingl. Baggage claim was right after and then the exit. Very good signage that directed people to the bus, train, parking, etc. When departing Brussels, follow the signs to the appropriate terminal if not checking luggage. Electronic gates required a boarding pass scan to validate trip and gain entrain to the security screening area. At least multiple lines were open so it flowed well. Plastics baggies needed to hold your small liquid containers), water bottles emptied, belts removed but shoes stayed on. Immigration was next and much more efficient on departure. US citizens accessed the electronic gates with just a passport scan and photo. It's not 100% functional as I was told to keep trying gates until my passport was accepted (4th one was the charm). Passport still had to be inspected and stamped afterwards but that was quick. Overall 50-50 rating based on this experience. Hopefully arrivals will be much better after full implementation of the EES screening process.

I've never been so unhappy with an airline as I am with TUI fly today. My wife, daughter, and…read moremyself were booked in a flight to Miami this morning and when we got here the check in was very confusing. We tried express check in which didn't work. We then asked the airport staff and they told us to wait in row 8, which we did. There were not enough people working at the check in and we were in line for an hour. When we got to the front they told us we needed to be at check in 12. It turns out that they don't have permanent check in counters and since two flights were leaving today there were two counters, we were at the wrong one. We arrived there 42 minutes before the plane took off and were told we were too late. This is the most frustrating experience I've ever had. I had to book a last minute flight home for 3500€ total. No refund was given for this flight either. The check in experience was unacceptable. It was not clearly labeled and not well staffed, resulting in our missing the flight.

Had to wait in line for two. Hours to check in then told we had to go to another line to pay for bags then come back! What kind of system is this? Unreliable and they act like everything is okay or that you are being impatient. Well I don't like missing my cousins wedding events because of pure incompetence. Stay away from this airline. I demand a refund!

I am tall, 196cm to be exact. That's why on a recent flight from London to Brussels I couldn't…read moreface being crammed into a microscopic economy seat. Instead I decided to pay £385 to fly in British Airways "Business" class. What a mistake! On arrival to Heathrow's Terminal 5 it became quite obvious that I had walked into a cathedral dedicated to passive aggression. I tried to enter the queue at zone B as directed by one of the information signs. I was told that the staff had decided to close that so I had to go somewhere else. Anything for the convenience of the staff I guess. I joined the queue at "C" instead but was told when I got to the front that business class checked in at "Haitch". "Aitch?" I confirmed. No "HAITCH!" Checked in I made my way to British Airways business class lounge expecting to be able to relax - WRONG! It was a crowded, dirty mess with wet smelly bathrooms that looked more like a run-down bus station that an airline's lounge. The place was wildly understaffed which meant that there were used plates, cutlery and half eaten food littering every sticky table in the room. It was far less crowed in the rest of the terminal which is where I waited for my flight. The gate was announced and I made my way to gate 10C. Instead of an aircraft there was a bus waiting for us. My fellow passengers and I were loaded aboard a standing room only bus cattle fashion and driven to the remote stand. Not long now before I can relax in my expensive but now longed for business class seat. On release from our truck my fellow livestock scrambled up the airstairs for the cabin. I found seat 3D. It was not a business class seat at all but an economy seat with almost zero legroom. The whole point of spending £385 was legroom and I didn't have any. I asked the flight attendant if anything could be done. He explained that the only legroom seats available were the over-wing exit seats. They were in economy and he therefore couldn't transfer me. I arrived in Brussels only slightly late but with no feeling in my lower legs and initially unable to walk. My advice is unsurprisingly AVOID BRITISH AIRWAYS. BA would not have been my choice anyway but I do understand that given tight schedules and limited choice sometime you are forced to fly with a particular company against your better judgment. In that case don't make the same mistake as me. British Airways' Business Class is A CON.
