This is not as well-known as other popular cafe spots in the area so it's not as busy and there is seating inside. We ordered the shakshuka ($125) and baguette jamon serrano y mozarella ($195). The shakshuka base was more of a soup than a sauce and its flavor was decent. We asked for the sandwich without olives but it still had some in there but it was fine. For drinks the flat white ($65) and americano ($45) were okay. It's more peaceful and not as busy if that's the vibe you're looking for. If you want another place to relax you can head through the door at the back of the cafe to the lobby of the hotel. If you're staying at the hotel this cafe is very convenient to get pastries or coffee.

It's a tad bit romantic in there with low lit lighting.) it's really beautiful I tried to sit out there but was not allowed. It is for guest to the hotel. I had no idea it was part of a hotel. Gorgeous building. That hidden door makes sense. Mostly tourist, a few pretentious folk making me smile. I feel like if I don't look up I could be back at home in echo park. There is a local getting some work done on his laptop next to me. Small place, you could sit at the bar , there's 5 wooden stools. Now to the coffee. I had a single cappuccino with oatmilk. Strong and delicious coffee. It makes me not want to try other coffee shops but I must compare! You'll find goat milk yogurt here and chia pudding which I need before I venture off to my temazcal. Good coffee and grateful for light breakfast items items that are good for my sensitive gut. I asked and the coffee beans are legit from Oaxaca roasted from a place called San Juan cacahuatepec.

I also must say that the waitresses were rathet grumpy, looked tired and acted annoyed so I could not speak well of the customer service. For there reasons I had to keep it at two stars although I do appreciate that it was a healthier alternative to other restaurants nearby. I ordered the Chile Relleno de Picadillo de Championes (stuffed pepper with minced mushrooms) however there was no dried cranberries or almonds like the menu promised. I also didn't notice any mango curry sauce either. The brown rice it came with was mushy and too salty on top and the "serving of vegetables" was soo small. Just not worth the 130 pesos for such a small stuffed pepper that looked nothing like the picture on some of the other reviews which I am starting to wonder might be fake. My partner ordered the sopa de cacahuate for 40 pesos and the Chile relleno de Platano Macho which came with rice and beans for 80 pesos. As you can tell from the picture, they used the smallest pepper possible and being that plantains, beans and rice are so cheap I don't know how they can justify 80 pesos. We liked the baked tortilla chips (which was a much healthier option than fried tortilla chips) and the four small slices of chewy sourdough bread but did not like the sauce at all which my partner also wasn't a big fan of. The peanut soup was good and I enjoyed the peanuts with the peas ... it was unique and the process for that was actually more reasonable at 50 pesos. It could have used more spices however!! The waitresses looked so miserable and seemed annoyed at the customers ... the food actually tastes better if you ignore them. There are many vegetarian options in Oaxaca so I would recommend going somewhere else!

The plantain and hibiscus taquitos were delicious, and the little bread/tortilla basket with hot sauce was a nice and complimentary starter. I regret getting the local soda into of one of the house made aguas frescas. I skipped dessert since I was too full, but might have to go back for one of the chocolate postres; they sounded fantastic.

We ordered a few items and were completely satisfied with everything! The food tasted extremely fresh! Just look at the vibrant colors that cover the plates. The Toast Con Pina was a delicious way to finish breakfast, which was served with a side of fruit. I'm not going to describe the food here, because the pictures I was able to capture say it all. The color, the texture, the layers, the aroma...as they say, you eat with your eyes. You can sneak a peek at the ladies in the back making the bread from scratch in an open-space area that's hard to ignore. You are captivated by every inch of this place. The live music by a violinist, just "wow"!!! Oaxaca is represented well by this place!

This hidden gem has a small but diverse menu of fresh and tasty dishes. It's mango season, so I jumped at the salad option. I could have had more jicama, but the salad is a nice change from the meat/tortilla/queso diet I've been on the last week and a half. Ceviche is a big deal in Oaxaca, and this is one of the best I've ever had. The coconut milk is an unexpected and refreshing twist that adds a depth of flavor to this delicious fish. I was also pleasantly surprised by the sauvignon blanc from Baja, California. This lovely Cafe offers breakfast, lunch and dinner Tuesday through Saturday and breakfast only on Sunday and Monday. Check the Google Maps listing for hours, that seems to match what's posted at the restaurant. And if you're wondering what a Chepiche is, it's a Mexican herb apparently similar to cilantro often used to season meats. That explains the very herb/vegetable forward menu. Reminds me a lot of California farm-to-fork cuisine. Great Playlist of extremely romantic soft rock/folk music in Spanish. I've been Shazamming almost every song! This is not my cheapest meal in Oaxaca by far, but sometimes self care looks like a date night for one. Thanks, Chepiche Cafe. You were just what I needed and more tonight.

I thought it was funny when I got the menu and the food menu was only one page while the drink menu was five pages. The outside of the restaurant is blue-ish and the restaurant has multiple rooms. The ceviche del dia ($190 MXN) was a little sweet and not as tart or sour as others I've had. The tacos de sirloin ($170) were really good and were our group's favorite. The taquitos dorados de mole negro ($140) were okay; there was no meat just in case you were wondering. The aguachile rojo de camaron ($190) were good. The esquite con tuetano ($100) was not like a typical corn in a cup but it was closer to a corn soup. For drinks I had the pequeño gigante ($210) which was good. The paloma madura and paloma margarita were both favorites among our group. We went during the day and it wasn't that busy but supposedly it gets way busier and livelier at night.

We were able to get a seat right away and the servers were super helpful. My friend wanted to try some mezcal and they let us taste a couple before choosing. I forget the names but one had watermelon, and the other had coconut and lime. I ordered cheese stuffed plantains with mole and this was soooo good. It was very filling too!
