"Beef" special on St. Patrick's day
    Stephanie T.

We came here for dinner on St. Patrick's day so it wasn't too crowded. We were really impressed with the food! It was a great day to dine here because they had some fun specials starting with a tofu-based amuse bouche in Irish flag colors. After that tasty bite, we had the steak tartar appetizer. It sounded pretty different so we had to give it a shot. It was very nice, like a dip, and it was accompanied by great rye crisps. For entrees, my husband had the mock wellington, one of the chef recommended dishes. He really liked it, but my beef shephard's pie (from the specials menu) stole the show. It's awesome as a vegetarian when you have to use your fork and knife. The "beef" had a toothsome texture and was swimming in a savory sauce. I didn't think I had room for dessert, but my husband insisted we get the Guinness chocolate cake from the specials menu since my entree was so good. Chocolate cake is usually decent, but this dessert was above and beyond expectations. I'd recommend getting dessert here any time. The dinner was reasonably priced, but be aware that you have to pay for water no matter what, even tap water. Each carafe is about $3 so make sure you finish your supply if you get a second one.

If you are looking for a place to get a nice dinner as a vegan or vegetarian in Prague this is definitely the place to go! They have nice sittings both inside and outside and a sweet staff. Their vegan tartar is better than many real meat tartars I have had and is just a most try! For dessert the strawberry salad is a very nice choice

One of the best vegetarian/ vegan meals i've ever had! Got the "Peking "Duck" with chinese pancakes and it was deliciousss. There were two sauces, I liked the plum (?) better but a mix of both was good too. Also got the apple crumble for dessert and I think I'll have to come back for that. The service was attentive and really nice, although there was some confusion about what language to talk to us, even though we spoke Czech from the beginning :D Overall a 10/10 experience, would recommend!

My husband and I found this place because it was near our hotel. It is very reasonable and the food is great. I did not have one bad meal. I highly recommend trying a soup with your lunch entree and a stress relieve juice :)

What an amazing experience!! I brought my non vegan/vegetarian friends here and they loved it! Everything we ordered was delicious, the service was wonderful. There is a lot of room here but we still made a reservation. The interior was beautiful and so cozy to sit in! They have circle tables great for a large group of 4-5. The vegan tasters menu is highly recommended, I loved it!

Lovely outdoor courtyard and beautiful vegan food! Wonderful glass of Czech red wine too! Excellent experience for someone who was a bit fearful of entering a country filled with meat-eaters! Patricia was the perfect server and eager to help. I'll be back!

I'm not a vegetation, but if the veg life was this place, I would convert! Everything I had was absolutely delicious, and the chefs welcome was an impressive gluten free bread. Staff was super friendly, really solid lemonade and tea options, and the back patio was really comfy. My favorite dish was the seitan Peking duck!

Absolutely amazing!! The food and the service are worth double of what they charge! This is the best deal I've encountered on my 3 week trip through Europe. You normally don't get such amazing service and food for such cheap prices. I'm not even vegetarian but I still am so impressed hours after eating there. Nicole was so helpful and nice and even was very helpful for my friend with a gluten allergy. I highly recommend this place!

What an amazingly delicious meal from start to finish! We desperately needed a break from beef and pork after traveling Europe for two weeks, and this hit the spot. The food was prepared carefully and presented beautifully, and the taste was just incredible. The waitstaff worked somewhat in tandem, but our main server was very kind and helpful. Be sure to make a reservation though - we went at 7:30 and they were booked, but made us a reservation on the spot for 9:00. Fortunately we were staying at the hotel right across the street, so we had a couple drinks there, went back at 8:50, and they seated us right away! Highly recommended!

Etnosvet is pretty upscale and you may need a reservation to be seated. I had a great experience at the restaurant; the tempeh medallions I ordered were delicious. Be warned that the portions were fairly small, especially for the price.

We were having too much meaty dishes during our trip, so we figured the reviews for this restaurant appeals to even the meat eater, why not try it! So we did! And it definitely exceeded expectations! All of the dishes were delicious and very creative. The cucumber edamame dish is a favorite. The ravioli is good too. Somehow we were stuffed after the meal even though we didn't eat any meat. The prices were on the higher end for non-meat dishes. And we probably shouldn't have sat outside on a cooler evening. And it was a bit dark. I would definitely come back if I'm ever in Prague again!

I decided I would try it anyway because it was in the area and had such good reviews, and I'm so glad I did! The transitional dish I opted for this time was the svíčková, some kind of soy meat cutlet topped with cranberry sauce, whipped cream, and some kind of creamy sauce covering the whole thing. Bread dumplings came with it, which were perfect for soaking up that creamy sauce. I'm not really sure how to describe what it tasted like as it was unlike anything I've ever eaten, but it was all flavorful, rich, and delicious! The whipped cream seemed especially random to me, but it was unsweetened so it wasn't actually too out of place. The meat alternative that was used was not too spongy, which often is the case with soy-based products. The ambiance is very cozy - I sat downstairs but it didn't feel like I was in a basement at all. No complaints about service either, and I appreciated that you could pay via the QR code at your table so I didn't have to worry about flagging a waitress down for the check. All in all a great experience and if I'm ever in Prague again, I will be back!

The dish had stewed veggies, a lot of spices and flavour and was served with horseradish dumplings and bread. Most of the tables around me had ordered Aperol Spritz, and I ordered the same, it was so good! Are you even on vacation if you don't drink Aperol/ Mai Tai?! Maitrea serves local delicacies as well as other vegetarian cuisines to fit everyone's palate. My vegetarian/ vegan friends, definitely give this place a try!

It is off a quiet side street down a clean and safe-feeling but still mysterious alley - like its location is a secret. Our reservation was for 6:30 pm and they asked if we thought we'd be done by 8:00 - probably so we wouldn't see the next party taking our table and they wouldn't see us. Let's keep the all the info secure - that's what's best for everyone. If the omnivores find out about this place, the fate of the whole known universe could be at risk. What if everyone wanted to eat at vegetarian restaurants? Crazy, right? VIPs like our family (ha!) sit in the Blue Heaven room where the tables are fire. Seriously- they light up and glow like flaming wood logs with a starry sky above. Even the greatest sorcerers from history would be impressed. Love the theming. Magical. We began our meal with the Small Clear Head starter, featuring "Tofuie Gras", hummus and guacamole. The hummus and guac were both excellent- but the star of the show was the fake foie gras. This is a vegetarian restaurant- no geese were harmed yet the texture was perfect, the taste convincing and the mix with the jelly divine. Wowsa. Loved this dish. I also really enjoyed my Bao Bun Burger. I was going to do the Spinach Chimney but diverted at the last minute because I'd overdosed on this trip on potatoes already, and au gratin was more than I could handle. My daughter liked her Stir-Fry Noodles. My wife was indifferent on her Parmesan Pleasure Burger but I think she was jealous of my Bao Bun. We skipped dessert. Beyond just the wonderful food, there was so much about this restaurant that felt fun, interesting and surprising. Including the bathroom. Behind the toilet there's an opening to a dark empty space - it is truly a creepy void. What's back there? There's also a very old door with a bone-chilling stair down to a dark cellar. What's down there? What about upstairs - what happens there? More mysteries. There's magic in the air at Lekha Hlava Clear Head Restaurant. It is worth a visit, for vegetarians and omnivores too.

Of all the different items, my favorites included the samosa, spring roll, peanut sauce, and the vegetable/lentil stew. In Europe, apparently quesadillas aren't finger food so I was trying to cut mine with the knife, and ended up struggling quite a bit. I think my knife wasn't sharp enough, but I didn't bother asking for a new one since I was already almost finished. So be wary of the blunt knives. The Virgin Mojito was very good! They used green tea instead of the rum, and my aunt said it still tasted like a regular Mojito because of the amount of lime and mint used. Plus, it came with a handy metal straw that wouldn't let all the mint and lime go up the straw when you took a sip. Perfect refreshing drink if you're not looking for something alcoholic!
