This place is located inside Oslo Central Station and it's an English style pub. As is the custom in England, you find a table first and then place your order at the bar. There is a wide selection of beer including some non-alcoholic options. Be sure to remember your table number when you go to place your order at the bar. Your drinks are provided at the bar when you order and food is delivered to your table. I recommend asking for a tray to bring your drinks to your table. There is also a screen displaying train departure times in the seating area. Ordered the fish and chips, which comes with smashed peas, and a 7fyell ale. The fish was hot and tasty, with a light breading. The fish itself was firm and the accompanying tartar sauce was a good compliment to the fish. Personally, I could have used a little more tartar sauce but made do with the amount provided. The chips/fries were hot and crispy, and the server brought along a basket with ketchup, salt, pepper, malt vinegar, and utensils. The smashed peas were a real treat! Service was quick and friendly. A good, convenient stop while in the train station or staying nearby.

Not what I hoped for…read more I was visiting Oslo from the USA and thought it might be cool to check out an "American" BBQ joint on the 4th of July. WDS makes a big deal on their website about making reservations and what it serves large groups as the try to have enough cooked meat on hand. I was traveling solo so I emailed the week before to make sure I could get a table- no problem they said. When I got there the had to check if seating was available though the restaurant was half full at best. Service - The guys handling the seating sounded American but were not particularly friendly or welcoming. I'm pretty sure by my voice and appearance they knew I was from the States, but made no comment. My actual waiter was fine - friendly and attentive. Food- Shame on me for ordering a burger at a BBQ place- should have had the brisket. Still this smoked burger was undercooked for my liking and not particularly flavorful. Maybe their other barbecued meats are phenomenal-don't know. They promote themselves as a southern bbq experience-one wall is covered with a mural of the USA south, highlighting the regional bbq's. I have had better food and hospitality at dozens of bbq joints throughout the South. I accept part of the blame as maybe my expectations were too high. Just feels like an opportunity missed. All the local diners seemed to be enjoying themselves so they must be doing something right?

[[UPDATED REVIEW: September 2022]]…read more 'Ello chaps! Return trip a few years later to a hip "Southern American" restaurant in the artsy district of Oslo, a short bus ride (or even walk) from downtown. As someone from the southern United States, where folks are judged on their fried chicken and BBQ, Lucky Bird hits it out of the park. Simply some of the BEST fried chicken I've ever had -- ANY WHERE. The chicken was perfectly moist, and the breading was crispy without feeling heavy or overly oily. The creamed corn and mashed potatoes were top notch. The only complaint about Lucky Bird is that there weren't more locations around Oslo. This is certainly a gem hiding in plain site. On the return trip the fried chicken was still living up to the standard. Delicious. Overall the sides can really put a dent in your wallet, so you want to be careful with your order. Oh, and the tea - don't order it if you're expecting a traditional southern American sweet tea. Their tea is not that. It's a mix of tea and lemonade it tasted like. This was also one of the few restaurants in Norway we found to have full service (meaning a server took your order) Overall I give Lucky Bird five stars out of five.

I had an order of 8 wings. The wings were covered in a sweet BBQ sauce. I liked it very much. My friend ordered popcorn chicken and mashed potatoes. She didn't like her meal. But, I thought it was okay. Service was polite, but very slow. Overall, I thought it was fine. 3 stars.

It was a sunny sunday evening and I was starting to feel the craving. The craving for a big juicy…read moreburger! So, I started to google. Trying desperetly avoid going to McDonalds and thats when I found this place. The locale was a bit... wierd? It was in the cellar of a theater/cinema and when I got there the place was almost empty. Just a few Foodora guys in the doorway and a group of youngsters inside. I say youngsters but they was problably around 18+ and there was an event going "TeaterPils". My kind of people really, but seeing that I was only there to pick up a burger I sat on the sideline. So I ordered a Double Jucy, and I have to say right now that doing that was a BAD idea, and I had to wait. I waited for quite a while and it seems like the place is quite popular by Foodora orders. I had some problems communicating with the bartender as she took my order and I guess she aint quite used to people ordering to go in the bar. I got home opened the package. It was BIG. Fries all around in the box and they was quite good. Nothing special but decent. The dipping saus had a bit of a wierd taste at the start but got really good fast. And yes, I know that "wierd" is a bit loose term but I dont know how to explain it better. And the burger.. It was messy, the pattys was almost round and filled with cheese and when I bite in to it the cheese just oozes out. Delicious! I love cheese. But sadly other then the big pattys and the cheese the bruger dident have much going for it. There was supposed to be some caramelised onions, but I only saw like one or two small pices. And since it was so big I ended up eating it as a sandwich, with one of the pattys on one half of the bun. So, while I am a fan of this place I think that my first order was a bad one. To avoid long waiting time I would recomend ordering via Foodora But if you are a bigger group of people I recomend you to go down there on a sunday evening since they always have something going on then. I will defently be here again, trying out some of the more "exotic" choices. Sadly I got no pictures.
