Very nice little restaurant, quaint little downtown area.. Food was really good... my husband had a club sandwich it was HUGE!!! I had the special, grilled provolone cheese with bacon and peach jam! It was awesome! Definitely recommend this place! Service was fast!

This place is amazing!!! We stopped by on our way down from Atlanta to Panama City beach. First, the town is super cute which is why we stopped there in the first place. We parked and looked for a place to grab lunch. We saw a couple leaving the sandwich place and started talking with them. People in Eufaula are super friendly!! They recommended that place and so glad we ran into them. I had the best grilled cheese in my life!!! It was a pimento cheese with green fried tomatoes inside: mind blowing!!! I kept telling my friend: this is the bomb!!! She tired it and loved it too. I'm still thinking about it. Sadly I live in Austin TX so I can't go there once in a while but seriously, so worth the drive: I would drive 3 hours just for that sandwich. We were so sad that they were closed on our way back on Monday. I've only had fried green tomatoes once before that: nothing compared to these ones. I so want to go back I almost forgot: the workers there are so nice. I think in general people in Alabama are the sweetest.

Stopped in for lunch and expectations were exceeded!! Staff are super friendly and makes you feel welcomed and right at home. Sandwiches are served in generous portions so I split the Italian with my mom- it was delicious! The dining room is small but comfortable. At the time we were there, there were only a couple other tables sat so it was not crowded or anything. Already planning my next visit!!

Outside nice historic street with cute shops

What a lovely little sandwich shop in historic Eufaula ! A lucky find as we were driving back from the beach, North. So many fast food places around and this is was fresh, home made yummy- ness! Had the delish tomato soup with fried green tomato BLT and Waldorf salad. Everything was super good and such nice hospitality. The place is clean and quiet. Will definitely come again!

This is got to be the best sandwich shop in the world!! They put the work in and it shows!!

Likely the most delicious sandwiches and hotdogs we have ever had. Friendly service and great downtown feel. Will definitely go back when in town.

Stopped in for a quick bite while traveling and boy am I happy we did. I had the BLT which was fresh and crisp. My husband got the the Italian and muffaltta pasta salad. The Italian sandwich could've fed us both. It was huge! Dropping a pin to come back next time we are passing through.

Still plenty in the sandwich. Enough left over to take home and make another one.

You just have to know the procedure, but it wasn't only me, a Northerner whose brain hadn't yet fully recalibrated for the local accent. Locals were confused too. Procedure is this: tell them your drink preference (I had water), pick up a tray, put it on the counter, pick out a main, three sides, a dessert, slide it down to the register, pay, and take it to your table. At that point do you begin eating? No! Remove your items from the tray and they come by and pick it up. Now begin! You may be thinking "Soup Nazi" from Seinfeld but I assure you it didn't feel that way. Just the quirky way they run the place. The waitress did warm up after I was there a while, came over to ask where I was from, etc. And to try to convince me to come back for breakfast! This is cafeteria style, with everything prepared ahead of time and kept warm on steam trays. So how do they keep that fried chicken so crunchy and delicious? Perhaps the best I've ever had, the batter so crunchy you could probably hear me eating from another room, assertively peppery, the large leg and thigh pieces perfectly cooked and juicy. (White meat also available.) My sides were lima beans, turnip greens, and yams. The highlight was the yams: super sweet but not in a bad way, balanced by good seasonings. The beans were fine, a bit salty. The only disappointment were the turnip greens, too finely chopped and overcooked. The portion sizes were decent. Also included is corn bread. Two choices: baked or fried. Never heard of fried so I tried that. Interesting but a little chewy and not so much corn flavor; next time I'd get the baked. Finishing this rather large lunch was a challenge for me but I managed, while taking in the local ambience. I saved the dessert for later. Dessert? Yes. I was also asked on ordering what I wanted for dessert. The only one that appealed was the red velvet cake (the others were a cobbler and bread pudding) so I got that. I assumed it was included but when I paid I saw it was not. $4; no big deal. It didn't look that good, a thin 1 inch slice tightly shrink wrapped on a paper plate. Looks were deceiving. The first time I actually liked red velvet cake, a light crumbly texture and cream cheese frosting that tasted of more than sugar. With the amount of frosting this tiny slice was quite filling and I'm glad it wasn't larger. All this for a little over $21. I think this was including tip but I'm not positive. Either way, great deal!

Small menu, friendly staff who will answer your questions and chat with you - they know their regulars by name. Decent size venue to sit down and eat in (order at the counter, they'll come serve) or you can always drive through. Food: I asked, and it was confirmed: The chicken fingers are not that big. You could easily order 12 fingers and then still add on sides. Crisped to order (or grilled was offered up front, which was very thoughtful), very tasty, plenty of sauces to choose from (note: even x-hot isn't THAT hot), but size matters. Mozz sticks in the platter are standard fare. Potato munchers also a bit small for your money. Potato, either American or cheddar cheese, maybe some peppers chopped in - but sadly not much flavor. Finally, I swapped potato salad for the fries. Good stuff, meatless for those who care (though what you'd order here if you're a vegetarian, I'm not sure - only a couple of the apps would count). Still a good value for your money, supports a local business and its local workers, so I bring my recommendation in opening and closing this review.

Well worth the stop!! We are traveling back through the Eufaula, Alabama area and decided to stop…read moreeven though it was packed and we were in a hurry. Now we understand why it was so busy. I got a two piece combo (breast and leg) that came with mashed potatoes and gravy and a yeast roll. The leg was outstanding, but let's talk about that chicken breast, which is always the driest part, pretty much any place you go, so a good fried breast is a mark, in my opinion, of a good chicken place. I've never had a chicken breast be that juicy and flavorful. I'd put this second only to Gus's Fried Chicken (IYKYK). This is the first time, though, that I've ever had the meat taste better than the batter, which is saying something because the crispy batter was very tasty also. My husband got the chicken strips with fries and he said it was definitely some of the better of both he's had in any fast food place. My mashed potatoes were good. Not the best I've ever had but they were real and had great flavor. Loved the gravy but I do wish they'd put a little more of it on the potatoes. The yeast roll was super soft and fresh. The sweet tea is also worth getting. Sweet but not too sweet and a good solid tea flavor. Total cost for two people was $18.10, which is far cheaper than most corporate fast food chains these days!!! In fact, I'm not sure how any of the fast food chicken chains could stay in business or even compete with Big H for quality, value, and service. There's no way I'd darken the door of a Popeyes, KFC, or Bojangles if there was a Big H in my proximity. We went through the drive thru so I can't speak to the ambience of the inside but I can say that the staff was friendly and good at their job. Overall, this place is a total winner and we look forward to stopping again the next time we're passing through. I cannot say enough good things about my experience there.
