2026 this guy Eugene is clearly the biggest POS , known to man, I work my ass off, he knows my wife's godfather, and he clearly took a deposit from us, came and cut about a quarter of the job, then left it in the middle of our yard, when supposedly coming back, he would tell me in days he knows it was going to rain, and then we would have to wait, he would lie about having to go to "family court" because he forgot the morning of that he had it, a lot of bullshit, not to mention that he didn't even have insurance and the job was a big deal being the tree was right above our home. When wrote him about the insurance that when he pretty much known he was caught and I wouldn't let him touch the job again, and he started to offer our money back and said he was going to bring it for a couple days straight till he started to say again, he didn't have the money. Men like this are the biggest POs in this weird, eugene tree service , Eugene himself is a big LOS... and cannot be trusted. Excellent job removing 2 large tree. When done, they did a complete clean up! Personable and at a reasonable rate!

We hired Eugene Barringer to remove five trees from our yard in September. We paid him half of the cost for the job up front; he removed one tree in a timely manner and trimmed some branches from the other four, but then he disappeared! He would not answer our calls or texts, and he did not refund any of our money although he clearly did not complete half the work agreed upon. In addition to not completing the job he left a huge mess in our yard and our neighbor's fence in pieces. After reading other reviews we discovered that he has done this to other customers; I wish we had done more research before hiring Eugene. read more

Good guy, gave me a good price. Scheduled me for the next day, downed the tree and chopped it up for me in a few hours. Quick and easy!

This guy turned out to be a complete Con Man with his hand in my bank account! I trusted his con manship and was duped out of over $5,000 for work I did not agree to... The first time. Took me 2 years to repair the extreme damage he and crew left my property in. After recovering from Spine Surgery this Spring (2021) and needing some small Winter Limb work, I gave him another chance. He came back immediately and began to tell my my trees were a threat to my life and my home. He wanted to run away and warned me to as well. What a 42nd Street Con Man at work. He demanded $1,000 via Venmo to start the work. He called his son, Mike and 2 other teens to "Do the Work" which I was not allowed to know the particulars of. The 3 teens destroyed my beautiful property and left it in total destruction. Then he demanded $2,000 which I Venmoed him. Several days later and with all the destruction of my property, he called and demanded $1,500 more to come back and "finish" the job. I told him I would Venmo him the money AFTER he completed the job to my satisfaction. He said I would be sorry if he didn't get the money A.S.A.P. He, his son Mike, his wife, Jennifer, the book keeper.. ALL Disappeared and were no longer available to me. I can't get my stolen $2,000 back and I had to file a report with the local State Police and my lawyer. PLEASE DO NOT TRUST OR USE THIS 42nd ST. CON FAMILY. I'm a 79 year old, Viet Nam veteran, legally blind and a Spine surgery survivor and on a fixed income, so you can only Imagine the pain I am in after being subjected to the Fraud and Destruction of this Evil Family. Beware! The Eugene Barringer Tree Service crew dropped a tree on the corner of our garage while removing several trees for our neighbors 3 months ago. The company supposedly has liability insurance, but they are not responding to our insurance company's inquiries. Be careful letting them on your property. I am so happy with the service I received from Eugene Barringer Tree Service. I had a dead tree trunk which cracked and was literally hanging over my garage, waiting to crash down at any moment. Eugene came to my house on a Sunday, as soon as I called him. He gave me a fair price to remove three huge dead maple trees and then removed the dangerous trunk right there, on the spot. Eugene and his crew did a fantastic job trimming a willow, a pine tree, some other trees, and taking down a dead tree. Eugene was very knowledgable about how to trim the trees so that they will get the light they need. He seemed to really know his trees! Eugene is clearly experienced in taking down trees, but did not provide the service we agreed upon. He cut down a large tree, improperly bucked it and left it unstacked on my property. I had to hire another logger to come and clean up a fairly large mess. Unfortunate because We own a large property with a lot of trees so there was future work, but not for him. read more
