Shop small, shop local!…read more This local women's boutique has beautiful clothing for all sizes, as well as shoes, jewelry, candles and misc items. I'm not a tiny girl by any means but my best friend challenged me to step out of my comfort zone and try something stylish. I came in very intimidated and left very happy! The girl working the register was upbeat, friendly, and helped me pick out some things to try on. She even showed me their sale rack in the back. I felt embarrassed to ask her if something I tried on looked ok, but she assured me that was what she was there for and I wasn't bothering her a bit. I ended up with two new sweaters and she helped me pick which one to wear out if the store and helped me cut the tag off. My friends loved the outfit, but even better, when I got home my boyfriend said I looked "hot" and that the shirt I was wearing was the best he had ever seen me in ! I'm still soaring from that compliment They carry "Dayton O" shirts too and a portion of the proceeds get donated to help feed local families through a local church. You cannot lose here. I can't wait for my boyfriend to see my second sweater!

It was a $40 Dress that was returnable for store credit in two weeks, but, given the purpose, I explained that I would do it as soon as we got back if the dress didn't work out. It didn't work at all because it has a weird short underskirt that would show in the picture. My daughter lives in Chicago and we went there while she was visiting the week after the trip. She found $130 worth of cute things but walked away from them empty handed when the rude shop employee refused to take the dress back. The employee called her boss who also refused. I'm sorry I went there. Sorry that the owner wasn't able to make an exception. Sorry that I won't go back. It's a shame for a small business to lose out. Understand every store has return policies like that for a reason but I was told something totally different.

I called because I was ready to pick up the calendars... Someone by the name of angel answered the phone and was working the front registers. They were very busy I was checking people out but this person politely took the time to check my photos and find them because only one was found at the time. Very professional and very helpful. Although this Walgreens is slightly further away from the one that I generally use I will be frequenting this particular Walgreens because of angel ...thank you!

They then pointed me in the right direction, and as I left, I was seriously impressed. I've rarely been greeted or assisted by employees at convenience stores, so it was very nice to have someone standing there, waiting to greet and assist me. I had needed to make a copy of an 8x10 photo (only one photo, only one copy), so I dropped my photo off and was asked to return in an hour. After I returned an hour later, I was told they were experiencing problems with their equipment. They asked that I walk around the store for another 15 minutes, while they prepared my photo. After twenty minutes, I went back to the desk and was told my photo wasn't ready. I gave the employee my phone number and they assured me that they would call when my photo was ready. Three hours later, no one had called, so I went back to Walgreens. The employee at the photo counter was one of the same employees I had spoken with earlier. My photo was finally ready (four hours late, and no one had called), and I asked the young man if they offered any kind of discount - since I had driven out there unnecessarily earlier in the day. The young man behind the counter was quite rude and snippy, saying that it wasn't his fault the machinery broke. All he needed to do was say "No, we don't offer any discounts," and everything would have been fine. Instead, he was very rude and I had to ask him three or four times what my total was when he rang me up. After filling out a complaint on the Walgreens website, the manager contacted me and sorted everything out - which slightly bettered my experience. Overall, the store is alright. Depending on who is working, the customer service can range from horrible to amazing.

This spot has been a few different things in the past few years: Link Gallery, Color 2 Gallery…read more(both places where I used to show), and now a fair-trade, slave-free store, Peace on Fifth. The owner is fun and knowledgeable and has great tastes in many things. Single-origin dark chocolates, raw and vegan goodies including food and cosmetic products, soaps made by Japanese Rastafarians (I know!), scarves and sarongs made from recycled saris, olive oils from the deserts of the middle east, wine perfumed candles, beautifully made glassware made from recycled glass, just to name a few. It's one of those places where you feel good shopping at, know where your things are made, and know that the workers were treated fairly and that the products were made without the use of any indentured servants or slaves (which unfortunately exists more often than we think). The best thing is that the prices are great! I am so used to going to such fair-trade, sustainable, eco/green stores in bigger cities such as Chicago and San Francisco and the prices being marked up too high, but at this place, I could actually afford things I liked without breaking the bank. She also participates in First Friday events and I think from what I remember, there will be wine tasting happening sometime soon.

She is always friendly, and can tell you about every piece of merchandise in her shop. I love the activated charcoal soap, the African black soap hand soap, the Rewined candles and all of the social justice issues books that she carries. The best part is that it is a fair trade shop. No slave labor!!!
