Please keep in mind that this review is specific to this location and not the brand as a whole. While the Beamer we rented was acceptable, came with the appropriate eco tag to drive through Barcelona during designated times, and the staff ensured all damages were noted before we left the garage (after I insisted they be documented and made a fuss), all aspect of communication along this journey were unacceptable. If there's anything you take from this review, let it be that the publicly listed number for this location is disconnected, and in calling a US line, they will assure you that the Barcelona number is correct, and claim they are unable to help with any requests given the lack of affiliation with the branch in the country of rental. Why does this matter? Breakdown- you're on your own, car stolen- good luck, need to extend or modify your rental- you'll be unable to do so online. Additionally, 15 business days later, this is the second time I've had to call my bank to remove holds the company ensured would be removed after 10 business days. Unresponsive, sketchy, and lack of customer regard does not a great company make. I hope they take the ample feedback provided to heart.

    This is a main European airport that is very large. As an American, the signage coming into and…read moreout of the the airport is minimal but there are aides to guide from the new EES and to passport control. It seems that where they have somone it is simple, where they don't it is confusing. The most confusing is that there are several check points to departures and the passport control is very hidden. I would guess that if you went through baggage scanning and entering the terminal shop and food area you could miss your flight out if you don't allow enough time for the passports scanning which takes less time if you did it on your way into Barcelona. I would not recommend following the crowd like in America. Everyone is going different places and they are lost too. The new EES for non-Schengen time can vary greatly. On my way into the airport, flight landed at 10:30am and it took me less that 30 minutes to be completely cleared to exit the airport. On my way flying out back to America, at 7:30am it also took less than 30 minutes. I had no checked bags and had no issues using the EES machines. I did notice some longer lines but it didn't affect my travels.

Let me explain: - Family vacation for 1 week - We reserved the car online (SITE: VIPCARS) and offered a good price, but then when we arrived at the agency counter, in my case 30 minutes after the drop-off time, I was informed that they no longer had my car available, but that they would have to upgrade it and that I would have to pay practically double for another vehicle. Furthermore, they wanted me to take out full coverage insurance at the counters. I had also paid for full insurance on the VIPCARS website and would have to get new insurance again... After my insistence and dissatisfaction, they started telling me they wouldn't rent me any more cars and that I should contact VIPCARS, because they weren't obligated to rent me the car and even thought I was being rude. I contacted VIPCARS by phone, and they told me there was nothing they could do and that I had to figure it out... INCREDIBLE...! Unable to find a solution, I contacted another operator at the airport, SIXT, which did me the favor of getting me a car at the last minute, despite paying €530. Both pick up at 7 am and drop off went smoothly enough. My complaint is that I always reserve an European car but the "only car available" seems to always be the cheapest, junkiest Japanese like Suzuki or a Nissan Micra. To boot the one and only available at T2 was a Micra that had been scratched and dinged all over.

    Rented from them twice, first when I knew it was Goldcar and had never rented from them before, and…read morerecently a second time when I rented a car from 'Interrent' and was horrified to find out that it was a front for Goldcar. This company specializes in hitting you with very high additional costs when you show up to get your car, and if you say no then you don't get your car. To make matters worse the staff have been incredibly rude. When I protested at the additional 167 Euros they wanted for my recent rental she actually said "Well, you picked a low rate when you booked your car so now you have to pay more". Amazing! A total scam.

    THIEFS: When I arrived at the airport office, I was informed…read morethat there's a problem in the system and that the preauthorisation will not be blocked but directly debited from my account and refunded 30 days later. I was choked with this information because I didn't receive any email regarding this and the agent "Rocio" was unpleasant to me and did not want to find any solution for this except paying the super relax covering, that I didn't accept at first. So, after that I told her I'm ok with debiting my account for the amount of 1,542€ instead of blocking it as there's a problem in the system (which is not the client's fault). So, I put the first card in the machine, the payment was approved and I received an notification from BNP Bank, but she told that it doesn't work. Than I put a second card I received an sms from my bank BOURSORAMA with the payment confirmation but again she told me it doesn't work. I explained to her that it's not possible as I received the bank confirm in the sms and she threatened to cancel the reservation knowing very well that it's late at night and that it was urgent to have the car. The final solution was to pay the super relax cover 142€ to take the car since it was late at night and my hotel is 1h drive from the airport. I was forced to take this super relax cover since I had no choice but to accept it. On the next day I find that I have been debited on my both account 1542 on BNP and 1542 on BOURSORAMA. Now they are not answering my emails and didn't refunded the 2x1542€, so I opened a case with "Centre Européen des Consommateurs France".
