Our Europecar vehicle was brought here on a truck when it got a flat tire in Tintagel. We were visiting from San Francisco on vacation.
After calling the help number on our agreement we waited 5 hours for a tow truck. We'd call every 90 minutes or so and be assured one would be on it's way in around 45 minutes.
The worst was yet to come,when we arrived, eventually at the Europecar office, an individual calling himself Alex, TOLD us to DRIVE the vehicle to a tire repair shop.. this was around 6.30pm on a Saturday night.
According to him there were no cars available.
Whether our arrival was not communicated to him or not I don't know. But the debacle started at noon.
We checked the parking lot behind the office and saw around 6 vehicles.
Alex's story changed saying he was waiting for a customer who'd been delayed. It seemed that it was lost on him that we had been delayed since noon that day. Almost a whole day of vacation.
He, in his own words gave the other customer a MASSIVE UPGRADE, alloting him a small economy car. Then after 40 minutes of waiting and very slow non service, we were alloted a smaller car than we'd turned in.
Alex needs to learn customer service, Europecar need to have timely services in place in the event of a customer needing a replacement vehicle.
Never, never again. Alex's manner was most unprofessional rude and surly.
The email we were provided to bring this to the attention of Europecar was never answered... need I say more. read more
