I was so impressed with my most recent visit! The woman at the counter was so cool, friendly, and helpful. I really liked Kristen on my last visit and had Macy this time and thought she was equally as awesome. They are SO fast here, which is super helpful when you're out running errands and want a quick in-and-out. The pain is also minimal when they're so quick because there's no lingering pain. I had an absolutely awful experience yesterday at this location. My eyebrows are already scabbed on both sides from the wax - also the girl waxed my nose, and dropped hot wax into my mustache, so now I have a large hole at the top of my facial hair. I haven't been clean shaven in 15 years, but now I had to shave my face so the waxed area of my mustache isn't noticeable. [[HIGHLIGHT]]On top of that, the girl didn't walk me out or explain her mistakes to the cashiers... and I was still asked to tip.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Terrible service. I love this European Wax Center! The guess services associates and waxers are all so friendly, which is needed when you're coming in for something like a wax. What makes the EWC stand out differently from other salons is the special blend of wax used. It's designed to minimize pain and help soothe the skin. Not only that, it grabs every little hair and gives you the smooth look you want. I've come here twice for Brazilians leading up to my wedding and honeymoon. I did a little test run a few months ahead of time to make sure my skin wouldn't be too irritated while gettin' hitched. Shout out to Coco for diligently going through and plucking out any missed hairs to get me ready for my Caribbean cruise! She also kept up a really great conversation, which helped ease any awkwardness for being in such a vulnerable position. If you're searching for good deals, you can really max some out at the EWC, too. There's a discount for your first visit. You get referral points for a friend who mentions your name when they first visit. The wax passes give you FREE WAXES. I recommend any EWC location for a wax. The franchise seems pretty uniform, so I know I can expect a great visit anywhere. If a visit doesn't meet my standards, their customer service is top-notch and will correct it. read more

I was concern with the dip (didn't notice before) in my eyebrow but at least with another waxer's additional eyes, they made my eyebrows matching. I noticed that they trimmed my eyebrows as I don't remember another salon (only been twice before for an eyebrow wax job) trimming. Friendly service, patient, helpful. So I am pretty loyal to my regular esthetician, but when my girl was booked and I had pool day plans for my birthday, I was in a crunch. Luckily, after reading other yelp reviews, I saw the EWC has a crazy deal of your first wax be FREE or 50% off for Brazilians. (Which also, if you're trying to help a sister out, mention my name, Arianna Cruz when you go into the 146th location :). ) But with that deal, and the great reviews, I had to at least try it out. The place itself is very clean, I will say it's not as warm and welcoming as some of the other places I have been to before, but it felt very clean which is more important in this instance. I've also noticed that different chains have a very regular way of waxing their clients, with certain waxes. Here they did only like FOUR SECTIONS (deep breathing was definitely happening because in my mind, all I could think of was "ouch".) they use their own formula in the waxes, and also only hard wax on the lowers, so when push came to pull (that's a pun, good one, right?) it was not nearly as painful as I thought it would be. The customer service is top-notch and although the front desk felt pretty rehearsed, it was a great experience overall. The only thing I will say is that I've noticed a lot of reviews mention feeling that not all of the hair removed. When I got home, I noticed a few hairs were missed and that my hair has grown back a little bit faster than normal. I honestly wonder if this is because of the technique with having so few strips, and with the bigger section, maybe the wax isn't pulling all the hairs out as deeply as they do when there's more strips done. I can't say for certain I'll become a regular at this time, but I'll more than likely rely on this place if I'm ever in a scheduling crunch. read more

I have had regular leg/bikini waxes for over 25 years. I went to EWC today for the first time. I disliked a couple of things that didn't affect the wax job itself: they scheduled my appt 15 minutes late, the wax room was absolutely freezing, and there was no towel to drape after the bikini wax during the leg wax (this is offered everywhere else just for comfort/as a courtesy). Those things were just my personal preference. However, the wax service was also not done well. The waxer removed the wax strips in the direction of hair growth (it should always be removed in the opposite direction). She didn't always make sure the skin was taut before removing the wax (painful). She didn't always have a good grip on the wax strip (got her glove stuck to it etc.), often needing several attempts to remove each strip. Ouch. She also removed the strips very slowly - like peeling them off instead of the quick ZIP! that makes it less painful. Ouch. The wax was too hot, which she tried to fix, but she had to repeat a few spots 3-4 times. I was really worried about the repeated application of too-hot wax. It was very painful but luckily no broken skin. I haven't been home to see if she did a thorough job but it seemed okay. She was perfectly nice but she needs a lot more training before they can call this a professional wax job. read more

Tiara is the best! I had a different woman that had waxed me the first couple times (brazilian..aahhhh!!). Although she was very nice, she did not get everything which kind of bothered me. After switching the day of the week I went, I got Tiara and am so happy that I did. Me and her have funny conversation the entire time and I feel super comfortable (as comfortable as you can be while waxing :)) She is not only fast, but super thorough as well. I am in and out in about 15 minutes. The rest of the staff I have met are all super friendly as well. Your first wax is complementary *with brazilian being 50% off, not a bad deal though! *update 7/18: My fave wax tech no longer works here, but the tech I've had recently (Kate) has done fantastic job! Very thorough, gives great advice for upkeep and prevention of ingrowns. One other thing I had forgot to mention initially is that they use a specific wax made for their company only. read more

This is absolutely the worst treatment I've EVER received anywhere !! I went in to get a Brazilian wax and left with a half-assed bikini line. The woman that "waxed" me is named Adrianna. to start, she didn't put enough powder and she did NOT let the wax completely dry and picked off the leftover pieces with her hands and not the strip. I was bleeding TOO much and I asked her to stop. She then asked if I wanted to just do the sides and I said yes which was another mistake, since she literally started to wax me RIGHT in the middle. She waxed the sides which was not good whatsoever, so much hair left behind and she did not apply pressure after pulling the strips up which made it even more painful. To conclude, I have bald sides with a clean circle right in the middle. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of Adrianna. I wish I could take my tip back. read more

Yay for EWC! I used to dread going in for a wax at regular salons. Not only was it extremely expensive, but painful. I did it for the end result only. EWC has completely changed my waxing experience. It's quick, not as painful as using strips, and CHEAP. What more could you ask for? You do have to prepare yourself for the fact that the waxers stay in the room while you undress. I asked the owners about this because I was uncomfortable with it at first. But, it's how the franchise was set up. There's no reason to feel strange about it. These women are professional and, quite frankly, see everything anyway! I'm a regular at EWC. I go in every 4 weeks to the same girl, and it's great. In and out in 10 minutes. Love it! read more

Always love my experience here with Rachel. She is amazing and I never want to see anyone but her! Just as most employees at EWC, she makes the experience as comfortable as possible. She talks to you throughout the 15 minute process, and works on building a relationship with you. I've gone back to her a few times now and it's always a good conversation. On top of her people skills, her skills with the wax are phenomenal. She is able to get every hair out with just one pull of the wax, and always makes sure to apply pressure when she knows it'll hurt. She even gives you a warning that it'll be a painful one and to take a breathe. Simple instructions, but they go a long way! This is a great place to try with good customer service! read more

My first visit to EWC in Carmel, IN was great! Nice facility, friendly staff, and the waxing attendant did a good job! I had never had a Brazilian bikini wax before and I was 24 weeks pregnant! The waxer made me feel comfortable. She seemed knowledgeable and well trained, although she was new and this was my first wax! The wax was free with her being in training, so that was a bonus! What was nice there was no pressure afterward from the waxer or reception to book again or buy anything. Loved that! patricia is the only person i trust with my eyebrows! my eyebrow skin has always been covered in bumps and breakouts after waxing or even threading, but the method EWC uses has never caused this problem. patricia is also a magician and manages to make my very asymmetrical eyebrows look great every time. i caved and got a wax pass and will probably continue to get one every year. read more

I got a Brazilian wax and the gal (Courtney I think) was terrific. It was painless as can be, and she got the job done within 15 minutes. Also, my wax was 50% being a first-time customer, score! I would've given this place 5 stars if the receptionist hadn't left a bitter taste in my mouth. First, when I walked up to her, she was not upbeat nor had the warm, hospitable demeanor that you'd expect at a salon. (No "Oh it's your first time? Welcome! You will love it here.") Although she was technically professional, she sounded like she just woke up and didn't want to be there. After my wax, I returned to the front desk. As I am literally signing the receipt, the receptionist said, "Oh by the way, we have a 9 minute late policy and you arrived 9 minutes late." Why did she feel the need to say that AFTER my appointment? I stared at her and said, "Ok..?" I was confused because I didn't know if I was supposed to do something else at that point. Awkward silence ensued and then I walked out after paying. It would have been fine if the receptionist said, "I noticed that you were running a bit late and while we squeezed you in, please be mindful that we do have a 9 minute late policy." That would have still gotten the same message across, but not rub me off the wrong way. To the manager/owner - please make sure your front desk folks don't make your customers feel alienated!
