had several Brazilian waxes done at European Wax Center and afterward developed severe recurring folliculitis and painful ingrown hairs in my pubic area that lasted for months. The bumps became deep, painful, and recurrent enough that I eventually had to see a dermatologist and receive medical treatment. I had purchased a package for Brazilian waxes, but stopped using the remaining services because the ingrown hairs and irritation were progressively getting worse after each appointment. I contacted the location several months ago and was refunded for the unused portion of the package, but not for the services that ultimately left me dealing with a painful skin condition, medical expenses, discomfort, stress, and scarring. I followed proper aftercare, tried their recommended products, stopped shaving/waxing, and used multiple methods to try to resolve the issue, but the condition continued. I understand that folliculitis and ingrown hairs can be a known risk of waxing and that reactions vary from person to person. However, I wish I had been better informed about the potential severity and persistence of these complications, especially for people with sensitive skin or those prone to ingrown hairs. Wasn't my best Brazilian waxing experience but wasn't my worst either, hence the four stars. I wouldn't come back here because I love Empire body waxing so much. This was close and had a first time customer discount so I decided to check it out being that it isn't far from my house. Last minute waxing because THEY WERE OPEN! Score! upon arrival, the parking area looks congested but there are plenty of parking for all the outlets around these guys. It's right next to a cold stone. Ha! Anyway, I booked this morning and got in at 1pm. Actually, closer to 1:20 pm. Because of a wait in another customer before me. The front desk girl was sweet about everything and apologized for the wait time. I was kind of in a rush because we had my nephews football games to be at. YES! I did schedule on a busy day because of it was any other day, I would've never had time to get in and get rid of these dang hairs. But scheduling was way easy. Online reservations are quick and accurate. Didn't have any issues with the app, so it made things much easier for me. I got in with Amber. She DID THAT!! Lol! Seriously. Other places have missed many hairs and I'd have to come home and retweeze (is that even a word?) and spend more time taking care of what I just spent on another person to take care of for me. NO! Not the case with Amber. She understood my situation and I'm so glad she was the one who took care of me today. Sway happy with the results. It was so noticeable that, even my 6 year old was shocked and happy about it (don't worry, only my facial hairs this round lol). The area is sanitized, clean and relaxing. Amber is super cool and chill. She's also quick yet quality is there. I'm super happy they were open when I needed work done. Price is fair. Fun fact: I sell plasma for extra money. I don't mind needles. Here's the thing though: I realized recently how strange and ironic it is that I sell my fluids only to use the extra money on the torture that is waxing. The abuse we put ourselves through for beauty, am I right, ladies? That said, I've been to EWC three times now, and I can't say enough good things about it. I have been with Amber on my last two visits. She's incredibly thorough, and very friendly. I never have been waxed in my life before coming here, and I will say that I'm glad I came back because that first visit was R-O-U-G-H rough. But after three visits, my hair is coming in more sparsely and growing back more slowly. I can handle the growth between visits, where I'd normally shave every couple of days. That initial grow out was a struggle for me, though. I'm not a fan of body hair. I will say though I think the annoyance of growing it out, and the discomfort of waxing ends up being worth it. Also, the people here are super nice. Their scheduling is really flexible, as I totally spaced my appointment once, and they squeezed me in the same day. Plus, they have cheaper payment plans to help save you money. I may not have any other waxing experience to compare EWC to, but I'll say nothing in my experience has made me want to look elsewhere. I had 2 services completed and it was great! I was certain the wax wasn't working since there was ZERO discomfort. I have been waxed other places and I do have a high pain threshold, but this was unlike any other. My esthetician was so nice and personable. She knew what she was doing and did a great job. Saw Lacey for the first time today. She was quick and nice, but unfortunately I won't be going back to her. The wax was far too hot. To the point I had to say something for the first time in almost a decade of getting waxed. She also applied the wax without any precision. She went halfway up my forehead and way too far down/out on the lips, which no one has EVER done before. To the point I was pulling wax off my actual lips while she had her back turned so that she wouldn't rip the skin of my lips off. I don't like the shape of my brows. She didn't clean up the lip at all. I'll have to go home and finish the service myself. TMI, but I hit middle age and I swear people started sneaking into my room at night and pouring miracle grow in my ears, because the ear hair has been out of control. After a couple of years of endless tweezing of my ears, I thought I would try something different. I really got out of my comfort zone and scheduled an appointment to get my ears waxed. Nina was a true professional and did all she could to make me feel comfortable. Kept conversation going and explained everything. Surprisingly I've never gotten my eyebrows professionally waxed. Here's why - a waxing horror story for you. Tried to wax my eyebrows myself - heated up the soft wax in the microwave, looked in the mirror, applied to my brows...and it dripped. Now i'm freaking out because it's hot, it's by my eye, and it's on my eyelashes! It is so close to my eye I can feel the heat. I'm having flashes of being blinded. Was this worth it for some fleek eyebrows? Luckily the wax dries quickly, but now i'm trying to yank it off and it HURTS. It's yanking my eye, my eyelashes, i'm worried i'll yank my entire eyelid off! I ended up getting scissors and cutting my lashes :( It took months for them to grow back but at least they did. SO, I've been scared to wax my eyebrows since. I was really hesitant. But these girls are GREAT! They were calming and professional. They laid me down (so there is no worry about dripping the wax), shaped them up, waxed them fleek in less than 10 minutes. Way less traumatizing, less painful, and turned out so much better. Came in around 11am today and from start to finish had the most pleasant wax service experience ever. The receptionist was very friendly, competent and explained everything very well. This really set the tone for the rest of the visit as the waxing went just as well as the initial contact. I also liked that they use a hard wax, tends to work better with my skin I think. Finally, she finished off with some serum and the serum smelled lovely too. When I reached there, I just figured that they were running bit late in their schedule for the day. Overall, the place was clean and Waxing wasn't painful. Depending on who you get, might be good, might not. Nothing like a spa/salon for waxing. I was told if I was 15 minutes late, I'd be cancelled which I was, but when my esthetician was over 15 minutes late, nothing. I could either stay and wait, or I could reschedule. Not okay in any way. Sorry, but the policy is completely jacked up and I'll never buy another pass here again. Especially since I asked for the store manager to contact me and the girl put a fake note ( I assume) in my file, without ever being contacted by a manager. Edit: They contacted me and refunded me. I used to get my wax done Cameo College till a friend suggested this place. The first visit was pleasant, very professional and quick. They definitely convinced me to come back. I came back right before my wedding and got my armpit waxed. Afterwards, I noticed sharp sting pain at my armpits when I sweat. I simply ignored it because I thought that it might just be my sweat got into the pores where my hairs were pulled. After the wedding was done, we got home and my husband mentioned my armpits are pretty red. I immediately rushed to the bathroom and raised my arms in front of the mirror. Oh my goodness! There were a thin layer of my skin ripped off. I have my armpits waxed before and I never had a problem. I emailed them, they replied and they told me to call them. From there, it became a call and miss call game. I basically gave up waxing and went for laser hair removal. read more

This is beneficial if you travel Another plus is that if it's your first time you can get a free or discounted price on your wax depending on what your waxing. Compared to some other places, you dont have to worry if everything is clean or not since they wipe down the tables you lie on after every person and change the paper. I bought some prepaid services and am stuck using them now. The first time I went for my bikini wax was good. I didn't really have any hairs left behind and I didn't have any issues. When I came back my second time, there was several hairs left still that were plenty long enough to have waxed after I left. I also experienced some serious discomfort/irritation and "broken hairs." Within a few hours I had a bunch of bumps with pus in them that I was very concerned about as I'd never previously had that happen. Wish I hadn't bought the prepaid waxes. When they're up I'll certainly be trying somewhere new. :/ I feel like I have wasted my time and money. read more
