The bumps became deep, painful, and recurrent enough that I eventually had to see a dermatologist and receive medical treatment. I had purchased a package for Brazilian waxes, but stopped using the remaining services because the ingrown hairs and irritation were progressively getting worse after each appointment. I contacted the location several months ago and was refunded for the unused portion of the package, but not for the services that ultimately left me dealing with a painful skin condition, medical expenses, discomfort, stress, and scarring. I followed proper aftercare, tried their recommended products, stopped shaving/waxing, and used multiple methods to try to resolve the issue, but the condition continued. I understand that folliculitis and ingrown hairs can be a known risk of waxing and that reactions vary from person to person. However, I wish I had been better informed about the potential severity and persistence of these complications, especially for people with sensitive skin or those prone to ingrown hairs. I'm sharing my experience so others can make informed decisions and monitor symptoms early if they begin experiencing similar issues. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!

I am leaving town tomorrow for my birthday and she went WAY out of her way to see if her assistant/coworker could make it. In horrible snowy weather Ashleigh made her way over and we still completed my 4pm for a full leg wax. She was so fun to talk to, and it was virtually painless. I've done brow tinting twice in addition to monthly brow waxes. I never get red, she is always very careful to use oils afterwards to keep skin irritation down. She pays attention to your skin and really knows her client's different needs. I also love that her little studio is very close to my house and has lots of parking. I was a little confused the first time I went because you have to go in the hair salon to get to her, but after you go inside there is great signage to find her studio. I took advantage of her special Halloween deal pricing and booked the appointment by 31 October. But the unique upside with Lex was that she didn't charge more for men than women! I've seen some studios charge upwards of 33% more to wax a male...so that was what hooked me! I showed up yesterday and was immediately comfortable being around her and her nicely decorated studio suite (yes, images of cats are everywhere as one would expect. ) I've also been enjoying her crazy, clever, and humorous sales graphics/adverts on her website and Instagram sites as they are a real kick to read. Lex was just like an old friend that I'd known for years, I was THAT comfortable around her. In fact, I learned more about skin, skincare, and waxing from her in just this one appointment than all the research I've done over these many years...all while getting up the courage to pull the trigger on my first wax! Lex is a wealth of knowledge on the subject and offers a complete array of esthetic services and 'cosmeceuticals' for her clientele...besides just waxing. My manzilian went as expected...and yes, a few of the 'pulls' stung like a biotch. But Lex's use of a cold damp cloth really helped extinguish the burn, so to speak. She used both a soft wax and a special hard wax - both made for men - on me, and it was over before I knew it. Then came the manjacial which was soothing and helped further cool any hotspots that remained. All in all, it was a great 1st waxing and exactly what I expected. However, what made it special was the conversation between us during the entire appointment. Her process and product knowledge, professionalism, and warmth really make it a wonderful experience.
