We received a faulty repair job from this shop that caused a brake failure at 45mph. We got a…read moresecond opinion from a more trusted mechanic who said that Zig had left a piece of the old brake pad lodged up against the rotor, which chewed up the rotor. The second opinion also stated that the Caliper had been poorly installed with what looked like intentional stripping on the screws. Additionally, the second opinion (as well as about an hour of research based on part numbers) show that his mark up is over 100% in nearly all cases, sometimes reaching north of 200%. A standard markup of 25%-50% is expected, but this is absurd. I approached Zig about this while being as polite as possible, scheduling a time where he would be free to chat. I talked about the markup first, he refused to provide invoices or markup rates. Upon presenting the evidence of an incorrect installation, he offered $50 out of his pocket for the new brake pads without admitting any fault, saying it would be impossible for him to make this error. I politely declined given his repairs were over $500 (the other shop we took it to re-fixed everything with better results and half the price), and he told me to "get the f*ck out". He refused to view further evidence when offered. With this many reviews bringing up small claims court, I would say its safe to stay as far from this business as possible. Some have said "you get what you pay for", while commenting on Zigs poor quality, but we did not even receive that. We received bottom of the barrel service that resulted in a life-threatening situation, and a slap in the face.

They decided to tackle the timing belt first, but then kept discovering more parts and more issues. This is recently inspected, newly purchased, well-maintained with full records vehicle. But they had it tore down and no way for me to get it back. So I went along, kept buying more parts.... Long story short. I just paid over $1300 for a basic tune-up, and I bought the parts! They've had the vehicle for 6 weeks!! Best part, they wait until today to tell me the wipers were too difficult and those are still broke. When I described the problem to a staff member, he stated I'd have to go to the dealership, based on what I had described to him over the phone. Without going into great detail, he wouldn't even consider that the problem could be handled by 6 to 6 without having to take it to a dealership. I expected him to offer to have me bring it in so they could at least look at it, but he seemed unwilling to have 6 to 6 even attempt to resolve the issue. I'm so disappointed in the lack of customer service from a shop I'd been relying on for years. I've found a new repair shop, but I'm really sorry to have to end my customer relationship with 6 to 6 Auto Service. Perhaps they can afford to lose customers over the poor customer service provided by one employee who apparently doesn't understand how to accommodate a client.

Trustworthy, fast, and affordable…read more My resonator rusted through and broke off from the muffler ('09 Nissan Versa). It was making a pretty terrible noise, and I don't even know what kind of fumes were being emitted. I knew it was probably not going to be a cheap fix and felt pretty dreadful about it. We always do our research on car maintenance and usually have a ball park idea of how much things SHOULD cost. The guys at Freeway were straight forward with us and their prices matched up with what our internet research showed. They let us know we would eventually have to replace the exhaust parts, and it would be more expensive. However, they offered us a more affordable (but short term) solution to weld the pipes together. They gave us a quote and followed through on that quote with no surprise fees. We also got an oil change from Freeway while our car was getting fixed. They did all of this in a day! I hate to say this, but as a woman, I hate dealing with most mechanic shops. The past few I have been to have tried to rip me off, and it gets pretty old and is disheartening. I'm happy to find a place I can trust. I will likely be returning here to get my oil changed and other car maintenance.
