Veronica, the studio director, is lovely and very responsive to any concerns or questions. When one of my girls started ballet/tap, she was scared of the tap noise and Veronica found a class that fit better for her. Then this past year she joined ballet/tap and loved it. There's a class for everyone and every level. My girls have taken hip hop, jazz, ballet, and tap and enjoyed all styles. Also, the recitals are a big professional production. It's so amazing to see the kids perform on stage and build confidence. My daughter performed with EDA at the Alameda County Fair this past summer and it was so exciting for her. It's definitely a family friendly studio. I would absolutely recommend EDA!

They're inclusive to all body types, dance styles and experience levels and maintain a motto for kindness: "Be kind; dance fierce." The recitals are beautiful, fun and well-produced and choreographed. We strongly recommend this sweet, strong and friendly team of dance instructors.

If you're looking for a dance studio for your child, I can't recommend Sunshine Dance and Cheer…read moreenough! We originally signed up for ballet and tap lessons for my daughter, but we've since expanded to competition jazz--and we're hoping to add hip hop next year. The studio has such an amazing sense of community. From the other parents to the teachers, everyone is incredibly supportive and welcoming, especially for new parents like me. Miss Samantha, the owner and teacher, is truly wonderful. She's so patient and kind with all the kids, including my daughter, and you can tell she really cares about their growth and happiness. If you're even a little curious, there's a free dance day/class on February 1, 2025 where your child can try it out. It's a great chance to see how fun and inclusive this studio is.

Being new in the dance world, I liked that she had exposure to both types of dance (ballet and tap). It really helped us figure out which type of dance she wanted to stick with in the future. My girl was also able to participate in her first ever recital this past summer. She was nervous but the studio is such a warm & kind environment that everything went perfectly. She also had so much fun dancing on stage! The teachers, older dancers and parent volunteers are all so caring and amazing with the kids. Overall, a great experience.

In that email, they had old covid protocols from 2020. They really need to update their "welcome" information for parents. - The class is for ages 5-12 and they keep the kids together. The problem with this is that 5 year olds do not have the attention span or understanding as the older kids. To have them all together and essentially "punish" the older kids to hold a "stretch" position until the younger kids are able to catch up is not right. They need to split kids up by age groups and create a more positive learning experience. - Coach Sam is not someone who exhibits a positive cheer attitude. Both my child and my friend's child came back home talking about how mean she was. These camps are intended to be fun, she did not make it fun or treat the kids with respect. In the time when I was there, I also observed her lack of kindness. - Sign in and sign out process is a joke, they do not even check when you pick up your children. This is not safe, they should check when each child is picked up by an appropriate guardian especially if it's a camp setup like this. - Several children were new to cheer/tumlbing and needed help with the basics such as how to do a cartwheel, the "teachers" did not provide any help. They just told the kids to keep trying and to not interrupt them when they are working with other kids. How is a child supposed get help? The overall lack of actual teaching was really disappointing.

Let's start with the good!…read more I signed my two daughters up for a once a week dance class last year and we ended up not being able to attend due to an unforeseen family situation. They reached out to me when we didn't show up for several classes and actually refunded me the tuition as a credit to be used in the future, which they did not have to do. That shows a great business who puts people above profits. My concern is about the Summer Dance Camp. It's three hours long and it appears that maybe 30-60 minutes of it just has kids watching something on a TV screen. As a parent, I'm quaking so hard to keep my kids OFF of screens and active this summer, which IA why I paid a pretty penny to have two kids take this dance camp. The fact that I witnessed them sitting on the floor watching the TV screen made me frustrated. It's a 3 hour camp -- play games. Teach them another routine. Practice the routine more. Screens have no place in a dance camp in my opinion. But maybe that's just my own opinion as a mom and a teacher.

My grandaughter is 2.5 years old, and her class is just perfect for her age group. I view this as dance and movement appreciation. Miss Shelly is very engaging, she and her staff encourage the students participation. Props and costumes help facilitate the stories. Children this age just don't have the attention span for serious dance yet, and this program understands that. Today they read the story of the Nutcracker ballet, and acted out some scenes from the ballet...it was a so cute!!! This is truly the place for her... I can't wait for the recital!
