We placed our daughter in Mimi's Preschool Child Development Center in Bossier. We had previously toured it, read reviews on their Facebook page, spoke to the workers and everything seemed perfect. They opened up in 2021 and I assumed they weren't very known yet in the area which affected their enrollment numbers. After placing her there Monday and Tuesday, they communicated very well with us on an app they utilize. However, at pickup both days, our toddler would be crying so hard she was hyperventilating. I was reassured by staff it was part of the transition period. On Tuesday when she exited the building doing the same, this time she had no voice and was very hoarse. I asked if she had been crying long, when they replied she had been sobbing, screaming, crying all day. At this point, I'm concerned because I was never contacted and it's very out of character for her. I started asking questions. I had the blame put on me because she seemed that she is coddled and held too much. They also refused to console her by picking her up; They leave them there to cry and use toys for distractions for independence. I argued and let them know that she isn't coddled and she's actually very independent at home. We never hold her much anymore because she doesn't prefer it. I reminded them that she is 1 year old and toddlers do thrive in a loving environment and sometimes need the extra attention which may involve being held for a few moments. I was informed that they do not hold children at the center, including babies. I was then told that it could be because I don't pick her up at 4:30 when the other kids start leaving, for the 2nd day in a row. I explained to them multiple times that I work 8-5 full time and it's not possible for me. I had already altered my work schedule at this point since they wouldn't let me drop off until 7:45 and pick her up at 5, no later. My mother instincts started screaming at this point since there had already been other issues at that time that I won't speak of. I ended the conversation and left. I got home and my husband came out to me sobbing about the situation. He called and said she wouldn't be returning after that day. Did they care to figure out a solution? No. When I picked up her things Wednesday, I asked to speak to the director since I saw her there and was told she had left for the day. I didn't press the issue since they didn't seem to care enough to speak to me about anything further. It's now Friday and our daughter is still fighting the feelings that she had developed those two days being there. I understand it takes a couple of weeks to transition, but upon talking to other parents, they all agree that something isn't right there. I've had many other moms reach out to me telling their experiences also.

He is 1 and can say his Alphabet. He can identify letters and the sound associated with each, and also can count to 10. MiMi also starts children very early with learning boundaries, manners, how to practice proper social skills. My favorite part of her system is being able to see how often a diaper is changed, and what time, quality, and amount your child eats, and if they had a good day or not. MiMi also sends pictures and takes videos throughout the day of the children while In the learning environment. I think it is a great idea to take pictures of the children upon arrival and departure of school. That is a very very good safety procedure and I am grateful to have found such a wholesome environment for my nephew to attend.

He has trouble sitting still for long periods (as most three-year olds do) & their form of dealing with it only made the situation worse. Between my three children we've been to many daycares & some just don't deal well with children despite that being their only job. When we requested access to the camera footage for clarification, they were unable to provide it, which raises concerns. Both my wife and I work full-time, and this situation has left us in a difficult position. Also while reading their google reviews I found out that they let a 3 year old escape and almost get run over so this might be a blessing. Apparently a driver that was passing by got out of the car and took the child out of the road. This daycare never even noticed

We moved farther away and we couldn't make the drive to drop him off (but I am considering it.) The ladies at Old McDonald's are amazing-- very caring and loving. Some of them have been there for years! My child learned a lot every day. He could tell me colors and numbers since he started talking. I feel like I've been spoiled with them and now we are having a difficult time adjusting to a different place that just doesn't measure up. One of the things I took for granted was accountability-- everything I brought over for my child (blankets, bottles, jackets and such) I got back. My new place never has a clue whose stuff they have and whose don't. I hear it's a common thing among day cares but not at Old McDonald's. I wish I could take the installation and bring it to my neighborhood.
