Worst Pedi I've ever experienced. They don't even have the tools to do a proper Pedi. Don't waste your time!

I have been in tears the past couple days after my visit here. I scheduled an appointment for a color treatment and a deep conditioning weeks in advance. I came in at my scheduled time and showed the girl doing my hair an inspiration pic (I came in with warm dirty-blonde hair and wanted a dimensional light ash brown as my brown roots have been growing in). I also let her know that I am getting married in two weeks so I really wanted my hair to look good. She said that we could do that and grabbed her instructor (an older male) and we looked at some colors. I have no idea why but the first color that was put on my hair lightened my roots and turned most of my hair a bright orange color. I was told they were putting an ash color on so I have no idea how it happened. I wasn't thrilled about it but whatever, it's a fluke. At this point the male instructor has disappeared somewhere so the girl doing my hair grabs another instructor (a woman wearing a grunge sweatshirt). The woman instructor starts grabbing at my hair and asking what the problem is, to which the student explains what happened and has me show her my inspo picture. They go into the back to talk and apparently the student had to beg her instructor to even let her try to fix it. So the student comes back out and throws on another color. We wash and dry and sit back down and it pretty much looks like what I came in with but with my roots blended a bit further down. It's still warm and the ends are gold. At this point I'm starting to tear up because I feel like my hair is damaged and ugly. I tell the student it's not quite what I wanted and she agrees and goes to grab her instructor. The woman instructor comes over and is immediately like "oh yeah. That's way better." And starts once again, grabbing at my hair. The student has me show her the inspiration picture again and explains that it's still really warm. The instructor explains that they used a green-neutral formula to cover up the "red" that was in my hair, and this is where I got really upset. I tearfully ask why they wouldn't use a blue-ash or even blue-neutral or something violet toned to cover up the orange (which is what my hair really was after the first round of color). The instructor just kinda shrugged. Like I know I'm not a hair stylist, I'd be doing my own hair if I was. But I'm not only an artist but also have at least a shred of common sense. Like just look at a color wheel... I could have told them green-neutral would turn my hair gold if they had told me what they were putting on my hair. Eventually the instructor stomped off and the student told me she was going to put on a blue-violet that was just a shade darker. Well, she didn't do that. She put a dark warm violet on only my roots and then disappeared for 15 minutes. I literally broke down crying because she didn't even tell me where she was going. When she got back I asked about the rest of my hair and she slapped on some toner over my gold ends. She washes and dries my hair and I have to look down at my phone the entire time to keep myself from sobbing. I left with dark red-brown roots and green-gold ends. My hair is too damaged to do anything else to so I'm stuck with this for my wedding. The only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one is because I've gotten my hair done here before and they did a decent job. Also the student doing my hair did try to advocate for me up until the last round of color they did. The instructor though? Absolutely horrible. She wouldn't even come around to the station I was at after the second round of color so I couldn't say anything to her. I ended up being charged for one round of color and the deep conditioning and because I'm a softie, I still tipped the student. She had spent a whole seven hours on my hair after all. Included photos of my hair before, my inspo pic, and two days after. Just wanted to edit and say that I did not have an issue with the student doing my hair. I understand that she was just a student and I appreciated her patience. read more

Hair cuts only $5. It was my first time there and my hair cut was better than many of the $20 and $25 hair cuts I've had here in town. The students are careful and well supervised. No complaints. read more

Love Evans ! I went to Evans many years ago in cedar city and it a great place to get your education ! Highly recommend Evans to get your cosmetology license ! Derk and Dale taught us that a good shampoo is crucial to build your clientele ! It's important , I went to get my hair washed and deep condition here in St George and I've been a few times , it's frustrating that I can't get a good shampoo . I know they teach the students this , however they don't listen , this is for the students please learn how to give a good shampoo , my shoulder hurts it's hard for me to wash my hair , I would love to find someone that can give a good shampoo , scrub my head and rinse well it's not complicated ! read more

I've been going to Evans for almost 20 years. I get my hair dyed there as well as haircuts. They've never done a bad job. They are students and not miracle workers. Make sure you know what you want and make sure you can effectively communicate that to them. read more

While this is most affordable for clients and useful for the experience of its students...it is important to realize the students are their to learn and to practice. Patience is necessary. Supervision is excellent, attitudes are superb and the ala care pricing is reasonable. The rating in non pandemic times would have been higher as the establishment is clean, modern, thorough, well organized. Given the CDC guidelines and Utah state requirements for wearing of masks...Evan's flunks. Customers should continue to mask up, social distance while waiting, and require their stylist to wash their hands and mask up. The receptionist as well should mask up and wash hands, wipe off counters, and credit card machines. Observing rules, guidelines, and state/local ordinances are good business practices. Mr Evans...compliance please. Be a better teacher. read more

If I could give a lower star I would. They gave my 12 year old a mullet. She asked for layers, the student literally chopped her hair to bits. I called back to voice my concern - and the owner rudely asked "What are we supposed to do about that?? They're students." I informed him all my other kids' hair cuts went great - however that particular person was unprofessional and unskilled. I told him she should receive more training and he said, "Were NOT going to do that." He offered me no reimbursement and said the only thing he can do is make her come back for ANOTHER hair cut. I have been going to Evans for about a year now and have had good experiences until today. I was turned away after making the appointment yesterday because it was 9:17am and their cutoff is 15 mins past your appointment time. I get that except I had to wait for the receptionist to get off of the phone to let her know I was there and she kept checking her phone and when she finally got off the phone all she would say was "it's our policy if you are more than 15 minutes late then you have to reschedule and lunch is at noon!" Then she kept saying "it's our policy, it's our policy!" I would not have been over the 15 minutes if she would have gotten off the phone or put them on hold to check me in! I have been very happy with the results over here. And especially the price! I took a chance and had my hair bleached and colored and it only cost about $53. For my long locks it is a great price. Normally it costs around $250 to have my hair done. Anyway, my daughter's hair was also cut short like a pixie cut and it turned out very well. For the price we pay I cannot complain. It's $5.00 cash for a cut. $6.00 credit card payment. Thursday it's $3.50 cash pay! And remember, you are helping these young people with their portfolio. My only complaint is that a little bit of my hair got fried during the bleaching and it basically broke off. But with the deep conditioning treatment it wasn't noticeable. read more

My daughter is a current student so I'm reviewing as a person paying someone's tuition as well as a client (not just to my daughter). I am impressed with the education my daughter is receiving and also grateful for the family-like atmosphere. She feels comfortable asking for help when she isn't quite comfortable doing certain things on her own just yet. The owners want to make everyone happy & leave feeling good about the service received. We toured local schools when making our choice & they made us feel like they we're out out showing us around. Evans bent over backwards to make us feel comfortable & the friendly atmosphere has continued... I give this place props for doing a basic job, the studio is nice and the students seem busy for the most part. I know I can't make a sole judgment on everyone's character/personality here but the two we worked with today had very bad attitudes and personalities. The reason why my barber in SLC is doing house calls for the Utah Jazz now is because of his great attitude and he matched that with his awesome skills. This place has the potential to be great, just do some seminars on how to be friendly and smile more because if you do that these clients will follow you where ever you go. Went here today for a hair cut, the girl who cut my hair, her name is kami. Took her 10 minutes just to come pull me back after the front desk kept telling her she had an appointment. Asked me what kind of hair cut i wanted then kept cutting me off and was very unprofessional when it comes to customer service. She messed up my hair because she didn't listen. asked for a scalp treatment and she refused when i had already set it up. Frist impression are everything. I wont be bringing my business here again. Dont ask for tips when your service does a halfass job!. Anybody that comes here please avoid kami. My sister and I went there for a facial. We were shown to a dark, dingy room. There were small tables covered in messy bottles and dirty waxing supplies. Our "facials" consisted of having cold lotion rubbed on our faces for 10 minutes. When we left, there were still blobs of lotion on our eyebrows and our hairline. It was vile. read more
