My parents have operated Evans Ranch Schnauzers for 20 years. Anyone who knows them or their dogs can attest to the high standards they keep- not a kennel or dog run on the property. Their dogs have always been raised in the home as family pets. Their schnauzers are all confirmation championship lineage and they also have competed in agility, holding national titles in the sport.
The Yelp posted by "Jenny R" has nothing to do with my parents or their schnauzers so I find it odd that it is even posted in reference to them. A case of misplaced aggression on Jenny's part.
Let me clarify the circumstances Jenny alludes to for the record. I agreed to purchase a male boxer from her, based (naively) almost entirely on her description of her "fantastic dog" as well as a very misleading photo. Payment was to be due following his siring of a litter with my female. I picked up the dog en route back to Iowa and it was late. I was not allowed the opportunity to take the from from the shed he was housed in, into the house for a better view. We drove straight through to Iowa (whew!) and were shocked when we arrived in daylight to make the following discoveries.
*Our van was FULL of fleas, crawling all over and had infested our female as well- Dogs had already ran into our home and home was also now infested.
*Our vet found a heavy (and long-standing) colony of ear mites in this male.
*The dog had numerous (permanent) teeth missing.
*Dog was not the age Jenny had stated (she later admitted to this).
*Dog had an undescended testicle, a clear disqualification for breeding.
*The boxer also had chronic and unremitting diarrhea and putrid flatulence that thoroughly permeated our entire home.
*Additionally, the dog would vomit regularly in our home.
I immediately called jenny and disclosed our findings and asked her to come pick the dog up. She flatly refused and demanded payment for the dog. I continued to call her, requesting she pick the dog up and she persistently refused. Consequently I informed her i was advertising the dog- "free to good home", in our local newspaper. Placement of the dog had to be delayed for approximately 1 month to allow time to doctor the many issues- the cost of which far exceeded the purchase price of the dog. Moreover, we had to bear the expense of home and vehicle flea eradication. We interviewed several people and ultimately placed the dog with an Amish family in the country. We apprised Jenny of that development to which she promised to "ruin your parents business", adding the unveiled threat, "I also know where your parents live!"
Foremostly, it must should be noted Jenny's deception and subsequent complaints had absolutely nothing to do with Evans Ranch Schnauzers, their dogs, their integrity, or any transaction involving them. She simply sold ME an extremely poor quality boxer with numerous issues including serious manifestations of neglect which would meet any state's standards for abuse.
In conclusion, for a long time I simply ignored the audacious posting by Jenny, until the inequity and misrepresentation of facts and culpability in the matter overwhelmed me. Not to mention a solitary and erroneous black mark on my parents otherwise stellar reputation of 20 years, which I inadvertently caused. I don't believe further elaboration is indicated and additional comments from Jenny should be viewed as hearsay at best. read more
