This is a gorgeous venue! Attended an afternoon baby shower at Evanshire Gardens. The guest count looked to be around 75-100. The garden grounds are beautiful and the lawn space can easily accommodate much larger events. Plenty of parking and overflow parking too! They also had some staff monitoring the parking areas. read more

Our son and daughter-in-law got married on 10/21/23 and the reception was held at Evanshire Gardens. We searched for an affordable, local venue in the Turlock/Modesto area and were so happy we found Evanshire Gardens. The staff were flexible and easy to work with. They allowed us to drop off some larger items the day before our event and to pick up items on the morning after our event. This was a huge help and allowed for a less stressful event day. Facility rental included a bar tender, security, and support staff who helped with busing of tables after the dinner and general clean up after the event. The staff were flexible and made themselves available to help with whatever was requested of them. They helped with set up/take down of the wedding cake and even boxed up the left-over cake for us. At the end of the evening the bar tender loaded all left-over beverages back into boxes for us. Thank You to everyone at Evenshire Gardens for helping make our son and daughter-in-law's wedding day so special. Here some specifics about the venue that may help you in your search for a venue: Grounds This place is a hidden gem located in the town of Ceres. The venue is hidden on a residential street in the heart of Ceres. But don't let that fool you! Once you enter the property gates it feels completely private. It has an English Garden feel with mature trees and plantings throughout the property which make it feel completely secluded from its surrounding. There are multiple sprawling lawn areas perfect for your ceremony and reception. There is also a large event tent with a cement floor if you prefer to host part of your event under cover. The property has plenty of beautiful options to serve as back drops for your wedding photo sessions. There is a large swimming pool that has a fountain spraying up from the center. There are multiple options for dance floor and bar set up. Bridal Suite/Grooms Room Both areas are excellent with plenty of room for the members of your bridal party to prepare for the big day. The bridal suite includes a private bathroom and large windows that look out onto the beautiful grounds. The groom's room was large with comfortable seating and a sink. It is located right next door to the men's bathroom facilities. Bathrooms The bathroom facilities are excellent and are located near the center of the property providing easy access for your guests from all areas. Parking There is plenty of on-site parking on a large grass area. The area is well lit at night with easy access from the grounds. Handicap Accessable The grounds are largely level and easily accessible. Had my wedding here on 10/22/22. Nada was amazing!! She accommodated all of our needs, especially the day of, she was there making sure everything went accordingly. We couldn't have asked for a better host! All 3 areas that are offered as part of the venue are beautiful. All of our guests were speechless with how beautiful the venue looked. I had my wedding here in May of 2022 and I seriously do not have one complaint. The staff was wonderful, attentive, and very helpful and kind. Everything was perfect and exactly the way I had imagined it to be. My family and friends have all said how beautiful our wedding was and how refreshing and beautiful it was to have an outdoor wedding. The beautiful flowers and scenery and different places to take pictures, really made the day even more special. I loved the ease of being able to take pictures at the same place as my reception and also having access to the bridal suite all day long, to be able to freshen up or just to take a breather. I have nothing but great things to say about all of the staff, especially the manager, Nada. I have actually recommended Evanshire to a handful of people who have asked me about where I had my wedding & were interested in an outdoor wedding as well! Decided on Evanshire gardens for a June wedding. Yes, we know how hot the area can be but shouldn't a venue in the Valley have enough umbrellas for the tables that are sitting out in the sun at 4:00 pm?! We were told they had umbrellas, but apparently they only had 5-6...?! They set up the food about a mile away( okay that's an exaggeration but still) and it was across an area that was uneven to walk on so it made it a bit precarious for elders. We hired a Margarita machine company and the lady in charge at Evanshire ( ironically her name is Margarita also ) would not let them on he grounds early enough to make sure the drinks were up and running for the reception! The owner of the margarita machine business told me personally how rude the staff at Evanshire was to them and threatened to not even let hem in at all! After we had already paid for it! The restrooms are also poorly located. The wait staff removed all water pitchers shortly after dinner plates were cleaned up and would not leave water on the table even after my daughter in law asked them to! I really think the customer service is severely lacking at this venue. They are nice when you are writing the big check, but then they are nowhere to be seen and rude when you do see them. There is a lot of potential at this venue as the grounds are beautiful, parking is secure, and there is plenty of room for lots of guests. For a very special day and with so much money being spent, they could have at least provided some umbrellas for all the tables or at least communicated with us that they didn't have a lot of them so that we could have made arrangements to rent some. I would not say to NOT have an event here, but I would say to be very careful and know exactly what they will provide, and what they allow as far as vendors. Thankfully We did not have the actual wedding ceremony there. Also , the food was just average...not bad but not wow! read more

I would have given it a 5 star review if it wasn't for the new owners. I booked the place about a year before my wedding, new owners came in and took over the place, and they didn't even call me or reach out to me. When I had a meeting with the new owners, they tried to violate my signed contract and tried to make me sign a new contract to charge me extra. When I didn't accept, they decided to take things away that were promised to me, not "explicitly" in the contract. I couldn't use the bridal room to get ready in the morning, so I had to rush to find a new place to get ready one month before the wedding. I was promised umbrellas but they were too salty so they lied to me and told me they didn't "have any" (it was sunny and the selling point of the place was the umbrellas available for my guests.) (and yes they have umbrellas if you see their instagram) They were unprofessional, they tried to scare me into paying more, and when I didn't they tried to take away as much as they could. The place is beautiful, but the owners made it a 1 star experience. read more

I went here to tour the grounds as a possible venue for our upcoming wedding. Margarita were very slow to email me back a time and date for an appointment after my initial email. Then when she finally does she calls me by the wrong name. That right there upset me because if you are going to be planning my wedding with me then you need to be able to read an email carefully enough to know the brides name. It was literally the first line of my email. Once we got there we were unsure where to park. We didn't see anyone around except and older gentleman sitting on a bench. We asked about parking and he said to just park where we were. We thought that was kind of odd but I guess there is actual parking on the other side of the lot where the gate was closed. Margarita was not there to greet us at our agreed appointment time so the man, who's name I didn't catch, started to show us around the ground a little bit. He was extremely nice and very informative. Finally Margarita comes out and again calls me by the wrong name. The first one was at least close but this time she was way off. That was irritating to me because A)she should know who her appointments are with, especially when it's for an event as expensive as a wedding, and B)again she was showing a lack of attention to detail that I would expect someone handling my wedding would have. She gave us a very rush tour of the rest of the facility without giving really any details on how things could be set up or what they offered as far as decor. Some things she didn't even show us. She just pointed to closed doors and said this is where such and such is. She then takes us into the bridal suite and hands us a book with swatches of fabric. She tell us to look through and then disappears into the next room. She comes back with a paper for me to fill out with detail about my wedding. Things I hadn't even decided on yet like chair covers, table runners, colored napkins and such. I was hoping to discuss those things with her and see what was offered at what price points. That never happened though. She simply said she would email us the package information in the morning since she had somewhere else to be thy evening. I was extremely upset at that because I feel it would have been ideal to discuss everything together. It is now the next morning, almost afternoon, and I have not received said email. Honestly even if I got it I've already made my decision. I'm going to pass on this venue. I felt as though she was rushing everything and we weren't worth her time. If she had somewhere else to be then she shouldn't have offered us that appointment. Mind you, she had given us a choice of a later appointment time originally so I'm not sure how that would have even worked at all. Overall it was unprofessional and she was very inattentive from start to finish. I would not recommend this venue to a prospective bride and groom. read more

WELL! This place is rude. I called 3 times for a site fee to host a wedding there. You have to get their catering, cool! When I asked about an Ice Cream Bar in July, she was rude and said "I don't think that's wise". Ummm...I have been an event planner for 5 years, you would think the CATERER would think a)Scoop ice cream ahead of time and put it in the freezer, then serve to guests or at least b) to say something a little more professional like "Interesting idea, let me see what we can do and get back to you" to think about it! Whoever is running the show is very unprofessional. Called a dozen different times about pricing and each time they said they'd give me a call bank within a couple hours and nothing! My daughter made an $1800 non refundable deposit for her wedding at this venue. She made additional payments of $2200. She then canceled the wedding 4 months before the event and was told the entire $4000 was considered a non refundable deposit. That seems crooked considering the venue most likely hasn't put many hours towards this event. read more

Evanshire Gardens gave me my perfect wedding. From the first step I had taken on the property I knew this is where I would marry the man of my dreams. Margarite and Hilda were so amazing through out the entire process and were so patient when I changed my wedding colors five times!! The day of the wedding went off without a hitch! Everyone was so helpful and professional. I can never thank them enough for all their hard work. Very rude and judgmental when answering questions about wedding day requests. Questions could have been answered with a simple yes or no and should have been answered politely.
